  1. Tomorrow is my new beginning too. I'm in Central New York. After the standard 3 months diet I only had to do 1 day of liquids.

I can't drink any protein! Help

JayRobb makes an egg white Protein Powder. It's very light and delicious. You can make it with Water and they offer a sample pack on the website. I often see them at "health food" stores and maybe GNC.

    Can't do anymore protein!

I just ordered a sample pack of Syntrax nectar. All 15 flavors for $15 and 1.99 shipping from si03.com
  4. Too funny ! True but maybe forever will be longer, healthier and happier.

    Nausea while sleeping

Have you tried sleeping with your head elevated? I haven't had surgery yet but I have gotten similar episodes of GERD if I eat shortly before bed.
  6. Good question on the acid production. Do you use a modified diet to control the reflux?
  7. I planned all along for the sleeve surgery. I did not want to re-route my intestines. I fear the malabsorption issues because of increased risk of osteoporosis. Articles indicate Calcium is leeched from your bones even with supplemental calcium. I have early stage (osteopenia) and watched my mom sitting in a nursing home as her spinal disks collapsed from it, and my Aunt started on Fosomax 20 years ago. I also have some arthritis starting and wanted the option of NSAIDS. And after suffering with IBS in my 30s I fear the effect of altering the digestive tract. However I and now diagnosed (after years of GERD) with Barretts esophagus and my surgeon has not answered whether he will consider sleeve surgery.
  8. I have just found out I have Barrett's esophagus with no sign of dysplasia. I really want the sleeve rather than RNY. I just don't want everything rerouted and to have the stomach remnants left behind. Has anyone had successfully sleeve surgery with Barrett's esophagus. I have sent a message to my surgeon to see what his opinion is on this, as it is seen as contraindicative to sleeve surgery, but not universally so.
