The Dr put me on some meds for the ulcer, I will have another scope done on May 1st to see if it is healing. I'm not sure what will be the next step if it doesn't heal. It seems if I graze or eat only "sliders" I am okay, no throwing up. But when I eat more solid food, any type of meat it usually ends up with me suffering. I know the grazing and eating soft food doesnt do my weight loss any good, but Im not sure what else to do. As I am sure the vomitting can't be good for the ulcer either.

Surgeon forgot to attached esophagus to stomach

I developed two abcesses after my rny. Second surgery less than 2 weeks after. Horrible experience, 11 days in hospital, 6 weeks off of work. Took months to feel somewhat normal. My dr was good though. I wasn't that crazy about him before, but after my illness I saw how much concern he did have for me and my well being. Now I have found I have an ulcer, which is frustrating. But surely it's a fairly easy thing to deal with? -
I hadn't lost any weight in a little over 2 weeks. I'm 4 months out. I'm a little scared. Unfortunately I've had a hard time eating and found out recently that I have an ulcer. Apparently when it swells, after I eat, I don't have enough room for the food and I usually end up vomiting. So because of this, I end up grazing. I'm hoping with the ulcer Meds this will get better.

I wish I had found this before and shortly after my rny. But better late than never. Maybe someone still looks at this forum. I'm exactly 4 months out today, I have lost around 60 lbs. i have had a few complications. Most recently I had a scope done , I think it was called an EGD, and they found I have an ulcer. I was having trouble keeping food down, I thought I was eating too fast. I'm a little frustrated. Plus I feel I haven't lost any weight for a few weeks. And I'm having some constipation problems. Other than that I am feeling really good. Better than I have in a really long time. So how is everyone else doing that's 4 months out??

Intense pain on my left side, around my ribs. I had thought I just did too much. I wasn't nauseated, I didn't have a fever, nothing else but pain. Once I got to the Er, the blood tests showed my white blood cell count was triple what it should have been. After a few days on antibiotics, it wasn't helping and I actually got sicker, fever, nausea, my feet then legs then my whole body started swelling. And the pain was so intense I counted down the hours til my pain Meds were due. But once dr figured out it was abcesses, 2 of them, did surgery and cleaned it all out I finally started improving. -

I'm glad to hear the cat scan was normal. Keep in contact with your surgeon. Nausea seems worse for some with an empty stomach. Keep sipping. It will get better.

Had complications. Bad complications. Had to have emergency surgery less than 2 weeks after RNY for two abscesses that I developed. I have never been so sick, weak, scared, exhausted in my life. It took me a long time to not regret it. Almost 4 months out, feeling great, over 50 lbs gone, I no longer regret it. Like everyone else, just wish I had done it sooner. I wouldn't say it's regret, but I do miss bread... -
My blood sugar ran high for several weeks. Then it calmed down. Healing is tough on the blood sugar. It will get better.

Hello. I am 4 months post op, type 2 diabetic. So sorry I can't give any info about type 1 , but I was worried about blood sugar dropping. But it really hasn't happened much. I feel a bit low, it usually doesn't last long. I think the hardest is for your body to get used to a new lower blood sugar level. Type 2's are also not "cured" with WLS. I have been told I will always be diabetic. I wish I was cured.

Oh, and be able to climb the rock wall - haven't tried it yet but going to soon

Do you have any medication for nausea? Nibbling on whole wheat crackers (if your diet allows it) can help.

What does this involve? I don't even know what reflexology is.

I think it took several days, try some milk of magnesia

I did not have this either. But from what I understand it could be a day or so. Do you know what you ate to cause it?
