    Alcohol and MGB ?

i think i got you on my mgb group on face book.....alcohol is different for everyone....it didnt affect me different after surgery. I was told by Dr. p in Florida that to protect the stomach for two years so it can heal and then only drink wine and only occasionally....That is what he said...so you have to live with your own decisions so you decide.
  2. oh that does not make things easier, but it is a decision you have to come to terms with. Some people are not comfortable with you actually loosing the weight they are used to you having...this will change everyones life....i am three years out and i think some of my friends are just getting used to it....the changes are so fast and drastic that every time we got together i was the only thing we talked about and some of my friends were not comfortable with the spot light being on me for so long. I just recently had a girl friend that said i was always her fat friend and now that i lost all this weight, she is the fat friend and i am skinny...she was really hurt by this...it was really sad and i tried to understand how horrible that feeling is and help her threw it...now she has lost 10lbs just trying to not being that person. Hang in there

    June Date

Hi my name is stacy pearse and i had my surgery 5-10-12...be happy to send you and email....email me at taxibusiness@msn.com
  4. yes i couldnt be happier, Dr. P set me free...i was a prisoner in my own body
  5. i had 6 ft...vitamins i take two of everything under the sun twice daily...low Iron one time along with vit k and a..all have been controlled as of yet with extra supliments..i have dumped two or three times and i never eat the things that did that to me again because it made me sick...and to be honest i should not have eaten them to begin with...like shakes...your body will not like sugar any more in large quantities but your best bet is after the surgery to never touch sugar again because you wont crave it for a while and that makes that battle so much easier...once you reintroduce sugar to your body you will crave it all the time and it also causes a lot of gas. I have a complication that is very serious...i have a gal bladder duct obstruction...it was not caused by the mgb but because of the mgb they cant get to the duct threw an endoscopy as most people...mine will take three operations done at one time...they have to put a port in my abdomen into my old stomach and go threw that port to the duct and remove the obstruction and then they are going to remove my gal bladder...which i think in my opinion should be removed when you have any gb because there is a high risk of gal bladder problems after surgery if it is still there. but that is my opinion only..most doctors do remove the galbladder at the same time as weight loss surgery..mine does not..i went threw dr p in florida...great dr.
  6. good luck to both of you, i had a mgb and have gone down from 354 to 159...195lb weight loss...my health has improved so much! My life is so much better...it was scary as hell but i think if you think hard about it, the future unknown journey is the scary part but it was worth the risk.God bless

    Help please :(

i just had the mini gastric bypass and i am on several chats for mgb...also liquids can dump into your intestines without stopping very long in the tummy...they call this dumping syndrome...if it is sugary it can make you real sick because that much sugar for your intestines to absorb at once is hard on your body and makes you very ill...i had this happen once when i had a milk shake and i still have it happen with protein shakes....liquid is liquid and food is food...you should not worry unless when you eat food...real food ...and can eat a lot then maybe you have a problem....also if you do have a problem, going back in stages is not going to fix problem...problem will still be there and im sure your dr will want to know you can eat a lot of real food so he can address this quickly.

    Help please :(

i have heard of people keeping a small Tupperware container with them and what fits in it, they eat...no more or less....but there is definitely a difference between pureed food and whole food. We all need to be mindful eaters...no distractions...sit and enjoy your meal...make sure you chew good...no liquids while you eat ...protein first then veggies then carbs...proteins really fill you up and some of us cant eat them very well. If you have kids or family...help them with their food or getting something they need out of fridge or an extra napkin...this slows our eating down which is important because most of us eat fast...then while everyone else eats we continue to graze and that gets us in trouble...i eat till im full and then i get myself in trouble with water.... i will drink water waiting for everyone else to finish and then it soaks in to all those starches in my belly and all of a sudden i am dieing...good luck...by the way...i have never heard that going back in stages helps...
