I was really never told not to chew gum when I had my surgery. I swallowed some gum today and I'm not sure if I'm having "the stuck" feeling or its just my anxiety of swallowing the gum. Has anybody experience this before and what did u have to do?

I have had trouble with my band too. I would love to have mine taken out to but I'm also out of pocket. My band in the last 6 months have cause me terrible anxiety. I'm always worried if it has slipped then when I go to the Dr they say its just indigestion. It drives the crazy. I've only lost 40lbs overall. Mine was to tight in April. I had 0.4 cc taken out and now I've gained 10lbs n a month. I'm just lost on what to do.

I went last Wednesday and had 0.4 removed and I still have the burning. My Dr said its just some acid reflux and continue taking the prevacid. But the part I don't understand is that mine was fine until December and ever since then it has given me trouble. I also don't understand is that I'm barely eating but still managed to gain 3.7 lbs. Blows my mind. I would also like mine out but I'm self pay and its going to cost around 11,000. I PD that much to have it put in. I'm just stuck. Will u please post about what the GI doctor tells you. I'm a little curious.

Just checking on how you are doing and if you had your upper GI yet? I was in the bed all evening with server stomach pains. I'm going to the Dr on Tues. Hope all is good.

I'm having a hard and confusing time with my band. I have a 10cc band and was filled to 6.2cc. I had my band placed in 2012 in Dallas. Since then my husband was relocated with his job. Now I'm about 7 hrs from my Dr so I found one close to where I'm at now. In Dec I got the stomach virus and was sick for 2 days afterwards I had the worse case of indigestion. I called the Dr that I see here and his nurse told me to take prevacid if it gets worse to call. It got better but at the end of January I got the Flu. After that I couldn't hardly tolerate any kind of food. I would feel really bloated some times I would have a lot of PBing but I could always tolerate fluids. This is where it gets really frustrated.------ I went to the Dr that I have here but I saw his nurse practitioner instead. She said it didn't sound like slippage and took out .2 cc and it hurt so bad when she accessed my port. It has never done that before but I felt like it was more of the NP than my port. So I called the Dr that put in the band in Dallas to see them and he usually does his fills under the florascope and I'm a self pay but he refuses to see me. His nurse said since I've been seeing someone else and they've accessed my port I need to stay with him. I'm scared my band has slipped and they are just looking over it. Please give me your opinion on what I need to do??? Sorry for the long rant I'm just confused and upset.

I have a hard time figuring out the stuck thing. I can eat the same thing over and over again then all of a sudden I get stuck. The other night I had grilled shrimp and mixed veggies and I got stuck but I've had this many times before. I never know.

That's how mine was too. I have a patient portal to go to register every time and I got a little mad because they called my last visit band anxiety. But I know when something doesn't feel right.

Hi I've had similar problems. I've had burning in the upper left part of my stomach. I had my band put in in 2011. I went to the Dr and they took out .2 from my band and told me to take prevacid. I'm worried about band slippage but my Dr didn't seem worried. What did ur Dr say?
