  1. Very sore and pain at my incision site next to my belly button. I feel like pulling. I have to hold my stomach to walk and I can't stand straight up. I've taken gas X a few times.
  2. When did you start feeling better?!? I was sleeved on Monday and still have a lot of pain. I'm taking my meds around the clock
  3. My surgery was schedule to be outpatient. I went back around 7:15 and was home by 3. Today, 24 hours out---I've gotten 32 oz of liquids in and 30 grams of protein. Still sipping. I took a small nap this morning. I just got out of the shower and settled again. Thought I would take a nap, but I don't feel tired. I'm still dealing with trapped gas. It is all in my upper chest/shoulders. I thought it was gone, but I was wrong. I also have a pain with one of my incisions. It's like my stomach is so heavy, it's pulling it down (TMI). Stupid, hanging down stomach! Overall, things are okay.
  4. I'm okay. Waves of nausea and trapped gas are giving me the most problems. My incision site just feels like pulled muscles. I am able to move fine. I'm home and I've taken two cat naps.
  5. You are implying you'll sleep....I'm impressed. Lol

Time off work? One week? More?

My md has a 20lb lifting restriction for the first 2 weeks.
  14. Are you ready? Are you doing liquid diet too? I started today! I'm doing 3 shakes plus a small meal. I'm only required to do liquids the day before surgery. Good luck!!!

    Liquid diet

My MD also doesn't require a long liquid pre op diet. However, he does offer suggestions for it if you want to do it. I'm doing 3 protein shakes a day with one small dinner (no carbs as sides).

Cash pay doctors in the US

My doctor in Hampton Roads, VA does a "bundled" self pay. It includes EVERYTHING from pre and post op care to hospital fees.

    Weight loss journey.

Congrats and keep us posted on your journey.
  19. My doctor highly recommends Premiere Protein which can be purchased at costco - 18 shakes for $24.99 + tax. I know Sam's Club also sells them. You doctor wants you on low-carb and low fat, high protein. The rule of thumb is always - under 220 grams of protein - single digit carb (9g and under) - double digit protein (10g or more) Your shakes should have 25-40g of protein. I have two that I really like - check them out on my blog (you can also buy them at Costco). http://FromAtoSleeve.blogspot.com I have some premium shakes on hand too. I wonder if I can just use those instead of the weight and inches.I would think you can. The most important part of pre-op diet, is losing weight and shrinking fat around your liver. It makes your surgery easier for your for your surgeon and less risky for you.I've lost about 40lbs during my year program! Going to try for a few more before surgery!!!

  21. My MD recommends weight and inches meal replacement shakes. However, it's really expensive. 7 shakes Is $20. What shakes are good for pre op meal replacement?
  22. My doctor does not require a two week liquid diet. However, he outlines what to do if you want to do it. I think I'm going to aim for 1,400 calories this week. Then the week of the 12th due 3 shakes and a small protein dinner. I'm required to do liquids only Sunday the 18th.
  23. I graduated from my BCBS 12 month program on Wednesday. Today I signed into my BCBS account and its official...I'm approved. I have the green light for my surgery! Come on October 19th. Eeeeekkkk. This has been a long time coming and now it's almost here.
