Hello All, Does anyone know of any Dr's in Canada who do fills and use floroscopy? I don't know if I could trust anyone to do a fill without that, how woudl they know how much to fill and if they got it in the right spot and not puncture the port tube? Any thougths.. I've had one fill so far and am at a plateau and would like another fill soon.. Can anyone reccommend someone they can trust.. Will any of the fill Dr's do fills from those who had surgery in Mexico? Thanks. BGP

What to do until fill????
BGP replied to singermama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All, I had the surgery done april 10th by Dr. Ortiz and went through the first week of reall discomfort but I feel great now. I have been faithful on the fluids and the mushy food phase and am now starting on eating some real food. I've heard some people have trouble with eggs, lettuce, chicken and bread. I haven't had any trouble eating any of that stuff. Mind you I am taking mouse size bits but I do feel hungry alot and soup just doesn't cut it anymore.. I'm down 15 lbs since surgery, 6 of that pre opt. I was loosing a 1/2-1 lbs a day for 2 weeks and now I've slowed down and have pretty much plateaued. I won't be doing my first fill til the end of May or the first part of June, so I assume the little weigh gain is normal after not eating for a month. Is it normal to not feel any restriction.. The other day I was thirsty and gulped down a few mouth fulls of Water before I went.. holy crap, slow down..lol..somehow sipping water doesn't seem to quench ones thirst. Keep up the good work everyone, we're all in this together.. take care. BGP -
HI All, I just had the surgery done on the 10th by Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Martinez and was very excietd to meet them both. It was hell coming all the way back to Canada on the plane. The bloating and gas was almost unberable and I was so hungry..lol.. I think it was mental hunger because I felt full from the liquids I had been drinking. I'm on day 4 now and am feeling the hunger pangs now and I'm wanting to start eating the cream Soups.. I can also say that from all the people's letters about how great Dr. Ortiz's Clinic was, was true and it was a great experience for me.. I even got a new name too..lol.. Berenice..) I hate the name Bernice..lol I'll be keeping ya all posted on how I do or not do... No riding horses for 2 months that's a killer ( I'd feel great if it wasn't for the bloating and I can pee alright, just not the other, but what can one expect if you haven't had solid foods in awhile since we were on the pre opt diet prior.. Take care. BGP

Hi All, I've been going in cirlces on who to go to and where and am at my witts end. I was planning on going to Mexico and am concerned with so many Dr's and need to know once and for all who's good, who gives good after care, etc and I'd like to hear about your experiences on your whole process in going to any clinics/hospitals. Any recommendations? I was thinking of going to Monterrey, Mexico. Anyone here been there to Dr. Auturo Rodriguez? I want to do this but want to ease my mind and make sure it's the right thing. Since I'm in Canada, and am in a small cimmunity I'll need to se where I can go for any aftercare near me. I guess I should have my own personal physician notified about what I'm doing..I hope to get my passport back and make a decision by April. Any thoughts.... Do's, don'ts, things to watch for, paying etc.. Anything will help.. thanks BGP

Hi Ladies, This is a big help. Thanks for writing. Well, my Dr has always been pretty supportive in my Quest for wanting to do things... I had asked her about seeing a plactic surgeon a few years back to see about a tummy tuck and she was right on it, so I would talk to her about this so she is well informed and maybe even print some stuff off or give her the website to go to if she'd like to check into it herself.. Not sure if many family Dr's will do that or not, but at least she'll know what I'm doing. This weight thing has been a life long struggle. We don't have any fill Dr's here but rather 2 nurses who doit and I've been inb touch with one so far via email and she is an hour from me so that would be very convenient. I'm praying I can get my passport by the end of Feb and see about getting the surgury done as early as March.. But I sure want to make sure everything is ok and I have as much info as I can possible get. BGP

Hi All, I'm just in the beginning stages of thinking of going through with this and it is scarey, especially when I'm thinking of going out of the country which is what I'm thinking of.. going to Mexico to have the procedure done.. I'm in Canada..with the extreme cold here you'd think my mouth would freeze shut, but alas, my mouth is never closed long enough for that to happen..lol Am I crazy going to Mexico? Does anyone have any last words before I actually talk myself out of this.. I'm really desperate and am sick of feeling like crap...( I also need to know if my Hiatus hernia is giong to be a issue.. I am guessing it will have to be fixed or tied down in order to have the band.. ( Tired of the heartburn too.. BGP -

Jeepers you guys.. this is scaring me..lol I don't do pain and the mention of childbirth made me quiver. I had a horrible time with that.. Right after getting out of the hospital after 4 days in labor, I went and rode my horse to feel better.. after all I had a show in 30 days.. not good on the you know what..lol. I hope this surgery isn't that painful..I'm thinking of going to the Mexico clinic.. any thoughts..I guess all great things don't come without a price.. The rewards of child birth gave me a son who's now 18.. now this age is painful..lol Bernice -
