I'm recovering from gall bladder surgery. My doc didn't remove it as I never had issues before surgery. I had an attack that had me in hospital for 3 days. Never again!! I just had it removed Thursday. Recovering nicely, surgery is no where as painful for me as the sleeve was. Good riddance I say!

When did you guys start drinking regular coffee again?
sandyb68 replied to ButterflyRainbow's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Oh boy, I was back drinking coffee at 2mths after surgery -
Yep, no issues at all
-
Yes, I was very normal up until surgery then I started having a period every 14 days. I went in for a Hysteroscopy and ever since seem to be back on track. Definitely change in your hormones can mess you up.

I'm at 11months and almost at 100lbs lost, (only 50 to go) so happy, however last Wednesday I experienced the worst pain in my life .... Gall bladder attack. Spent three days in hospital, doing ok, not great and i don't want to eat, I have no appetite whatsoever. My surgeon is taking it out next week. Has anyone out there had both surgeries? Are they similar in terms of pain and recovery afterwards? Are you back to eating normally? Has it affected your weight loss? Appreciate hearing from you ????

Oh!!! You will know, trust me.

Wow, you are on solids 3 weeks out? I had to wait till week 9 before I could even look at solids. I never had issues with it but I would imagine the mayo could be the culprit -
I'm sorry ????

Sounds like my heartburn! Do you have Prilosec?
-
Oh you were lucky. I agree it tasted very metallic. Poor people sitting near me. Every sip I took I threw up. I was there for two hours, it was miserable plus the pain I was experiencing. Ugh, hope never to have to do that again.

About $20k in Seattle and that included one night in hospital.

You are lucky. My insurance did not cover this, so all up I am out of pocket at $18k so far. My issue, I didn't have to go this route, but I did. Sour grapes for me though is 5 months later my work just announced they are now including this in our insurance plan. I guess my two years of writing them and bitching will pay off for the next person. You're welcome ???? -
Just wanted to jump in and toot my horn i am so happy i did this. i am three and a half months with my new teeny tummy and although the first month was a little unpredictable and yes, very hard, i am so happy to report I am already half way to my goal weight. As of today i am down 73 lbs and things are going really well. It really hit me yesterday when i bought a new summer dress and i just grabbed the XL off the rack and put it up against me thinking this should fit, or if it doesn't it will soon enough, to get it home, try it on and it fits like a glove. Best news, it was not an XL it was a M. it was just on the wrong hanger. OMG i cannot even remember ever buying an Medium. Yay for me!! That is all

Should be enough. I was off a week then worked from home second week. Main thing was being extremely tired. Week 4 for me was tough, I thought I had a bad gall bladder and was in a whole lot of pain. Just take it easy.

this might be a bit awkward but....

I went 5 days and after being very uncomfortable and swollen took a laxative. Make sure you are home ???? I had severe cramping but it did the trick. 24 hrs later all better. -
Missed Mentrual Cycle and not pregnant
sandyb68 replied to banksdea's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i have noticed my cycle is all over the place since surgery. It is starting to settle down but i was almost two weeks late in my second month. -
I do the premier Protein shakes from costco, 2-3 a day. I find the chocolate one is to my liking and it makes it so much easier grabbing those and taking them to work so I don't have to think about packing food. I also add in Protein powder to every smoothie or Soup I eat. It has no taste and it is disguised well. I cant get the daily requirement from food alone.

I stalled in weeks 5-8 and did not lose a pound but I am moving again. Just stick with it, you are doing fine.

I have never seen one!

OMG I was just about to post something about this. . I am having real issues with getting water down. I just can't stomach it now. I sip and sip and gag. It's so weird, I used to guzzle water all day long, now I sip and it turns my stomach. I can drink juices, coffee, protein shakes, no worries at all, but bottled water is proving very difficult especially as I have just diagnosed myself as severely dehydrated. I am thirsty all the time. Any ideas for disguising water that does not taste grossly artificial

I was given the go ahead for one cup of coffee w/almond milk at 2 months each day. Have not had any issues at all.
