Hello 2B, I am in the process of using my BC/BS that is through my DH's work plan (General Motors) So far we have not hit a snag but will know more after this Friday 1/11/08 I will be meeting with my surgeon for the first time . I did call Anthem early on and the said it was an approvable surgery (no exclusions) I just wish there was a way to speed it all along but we will get there. Good Luck Cathy

Hello Dawn and congrats on your banding, I have no idea if that is normal but you should mention it to the doc you could have a faulty port. Do not get frustrated you are heading down a new and exciting road, you have to keep your sights set on your goals sweetie it will get better I promise. Cathy

I really do not know what percent watch the emmi . I would think anyone who was thinking of undergoing this sort of thing would read/watch any information sent to them especially if sent from their doctor. I found the Emmi very informative, I am very glad it was sent to me and I was allowed to share it with a few of my friends and my brother who are also thinking of doing the surgery.

Amy I am so sorry it has to be so difficult.. that is exactly what I have ran into the hurry up and wait .. It is very unnerving but it will all be worth it in the end, just think what we will gain in the long run.. T-Girl I have one and they are fantastic!1 I handle toy breed dogs so I run from show site to show site . Many times the shows are held in remote areas that are very difficult to find. I have not been lost when traveling with my Garmin before life with G I had the navagation service via my cell phone that was better than nothing but many times it would freeze and when it kicked back in I would be off direction. Plus I had to worry the area I was heading to was not in the hills where the tower signals were spotty. Bottom line you will love it they are well worth the money and there are no monthly fee's, like Onstar and some of the others.

Hello Casey and welcome to the forum, I am from Indiana I have Anthem Blue cross Blue shield that covers with no exclusion. If you are unsure just call and ask if the surgery can be approved if all the medical criteria is met. Good Luck Cathy

I hope to join the ranks of the bandster as soon as possible my BMI is 38.6 my insurance is Anthems bc/bs I have an appointment (1st.) with a surgeon Jan. 11 A Mental evaluation Jan. 15 I hope it goes quickly from there. I hope my insurance approves quickly they were very pleasant when we called to ask if the surgery was approvable I hope that was a good sign *LOL*

So sorry to hear of your peek's illness that is very young to have to deal with that sort of problem (not that it would be fair for any age) My heart goes out to you , I have Maltese that I show and could not imagine life without them. ((hugz)) Cathy

Hello Jennifer and welcome, I have not been banded yet I am also hoping to get mine in Jan. I think a lot of the bandster here are using the gas-x tape

5 years ago my husband and I adopted a sibling group of 5 children the youngest being 2 years old (our older 3 children are gown). I am now close to 51 and have a 7-11-14-16-17 year olds, I need to stay healthy I need to be here for my children. If my weight continues there is a strong possibility I will develop health issues that will effect not only my life but my families.
