Vegas, Baby! And My Bikini Moment (pics)
brmbrown replied to livvsmum's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look awesome!! Kudos for your success! -
Sorry to hear of your difficulties. Something that was happening to me (the vomiting) be sure that you are chewing everything good. I chew for about 25-30 times to make sure it's broken up-- where I'm taking 30 minutes. I don't vomit as much as I once was.

What to eat. .......????
brmbrown replied to danetteperez's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm only a month out, and while out of town-- I had salmon. It went down good or so I thought. But then, I started to feel bad in my chest--( while at airport), I began to walk to bathroom, then run as I felt it coming up! It all came back up. It may not yet be time for fish after one month! -

Sarahbeth, wanted to know if you have any tips or special things you did. I feel as though I'm at a plateau already, just had sleeve on 4/23, on surgery date was 265, today at 252.8, I'm walking 2.5 miles at least 4x a week.. Not eating over 500-600 calories a day. Do you have any advice -
Cheating and how to overcome cravings pre-op?
brmbrown replied to nyxn's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You all had strict doctors. My husband and I got sleeved on 4/23. We started pre-op diets a week before surgery. They told us 3 days liquids, then the last 4 clear liquids. We had to drink 2 bottles of magnesium citrate. We lost 10 lbs in one week. Post op for now one week, down 12 lbs. My husband is down a total of 30lbs. Our surgeon left us with only 3 incisions. The lathes in our belly buttons! We couldn't be more happy! Our scars are almost non- existent! -
Time off work for recovery

Yes walking and moving after surgery makes a difference. I really had no pain-- my husband had some pain (but all controlled by meds) due to extra scar tissue in his abdomen. (He was a military police) . I had so many fears with reading the message board but I had a great experience. For me it was similar to the EGD went to sleep- woke up, we only recvd 3 small incisions (the biggest inside our bellie buttons- the other two are like tiny! -

I had surgery on a Thursday morning (both my husband and I) and we both returned to work on the following Monday! He and I walked 2.5 miles on Sat and Sunday trying to ready ourselves for the week! I'm at work now-- we had surgeries on 4/23 -
Good Morning All/Colleenrenee Congrats, we have our sleeve too! (My husband and me) on 23rd as well! Pretty painless for me, my husband had a lot of abdominal scarring.. So a bit more painful for him. We are both feeling great and are back to work today. I'm actually working in the office as I send this post. My husband is down 30lb since advised of Diabetes 2mths ago. Only 6 down since pre-op. Me down a total of 15.. since 2 weeks ago, and only one lb down pre-op weight. I'm aired up, plus I got my cycle the day after surgery, ugh, but feel blessed and wonderful. Yesterday me and my hubby walked 2.6 miles.

My husband and I survived! Me very minimal pain just nauseated! My husbands was a bit more painful as it was discovered during surgery he had quite a bit of scar tissue in his abdomen. Today, we are feeling better, we were thankful our surgeon gave us only 3 holes. The largest in our bellie button! The other 2 are very small.

Pre-Op appointment Wednesday...
brmbrown replied to MassageMini's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had a terrible time too with the sleep study.. That's by far the least sleep I'd ever had. But yet somehow they advised I'd gone into a deep RAM sleep. I don't think so! -

brmbrown replied to MassageMini's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Had my pre-op appt today, but my surgery date was provided on my first appt, and we've kept to it. (April 23), We (my husband and I) have 8 days! Tomorrow we start our pre-surgery diets-- which entail liquids (shakes, soups, etc. then on the 4/22 were to have clear liquids only which we'll continue to do after the surgery. -

HOW LONG OFF OF WORK?
brmbrown replied to heartonmysleeve82's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wondered about time off too, I'm due to be sleeved on 4/23, I'm off that Thursday and Friday-- due to return to work on Monday.. I have a desk job-- admin -
So sorry Stacy to hear about that, perhaps your mom in an unusual way is just afraid, she'll come around. I agree with you in deciding who you want to share this information with. It was definitely not your mothers decision. Although she has let the information out, keep your head up, you are on your way to a new happy, healthy you! Praying that your mom gives support! Best wishes with your mom and more importantly your surgery!
