Congratulations on your surgery! If your back pain has you concerned, you should see your doctor, let us know how the visit goes. I wonder if it may be gas? -
I have been meditating for about four years. I meditate first thing in the morning four a few minutes before I get out of bed. It has been so beneficial for strees, anger and anything else negative that I can meditate out with positive thoughts.

Thick saliva and sweet taste in mouth

I have had thick and foamy saliva and discovered that it happened when I ate too fast. -
You have lost a large amount of weight very fast in addition to eating very little. Even with all the vitamins and protein, people can become like you. Someone in my support group complained about the same problem, the moderator suggested that if every instruction was being followed it should pass within a couple of weeks. The Moderator also suggested her following up with her Doctor. So...call and yes you are doing the right thing. Oh, and congratulations on your weight loss!

You would be surprised at how judgemental my siblings can be. I solved it a long time ago by cutting negative people out of my life, so we think alike! My husband and friends are wonderful! I only wish the weight would move away a bit faster! Your thoughts and comments are encouraging and thoughtful. Thank you so much! Look at what you have accomplished in such a short time, Congratulations Sweet One! -

I agree with everyone! You are in a tough situation, but you can do anything! Just remember that the weight loss is for you and your health! Look in the mirror and remind yourself at how strong and independent you are, get a job, do some exercising and go girl! -

Hi, from what I understand, everyone feels pain or discomfort. I had my sleeve on 12/30/14. my experience was five days out, I was still sore, but not enough to need anything more than Tylenol. I think it hurt more emotionally when I found out that I couldn't do sit- ups for a few weeks! I hope that you are going to have the same experience.

Hi, Congratulations! You are in the same position I was a few weeks back. Do you use Pinterest? I have found recipes on that, but be careful and make sure the recipe is within your program. One very simple one was one bariatric meatball, 1 tsp. ricotta, 1/3 tsp parmesan cheese and meatless sauce for the moisture. I would puree to baby food consistency, then just before eating heat it up in the microwave. The meatball recipe i found on an internet search. Good Luck!

@HealtArtLove, So nice to meet you! i too have had challenges with the protein as I couldn't stand the protein shakes. I have found the Syntax Necter to be tolerable and have also had my share of protein bars, etc and have also found them to much more pleasant. I still have a protein drink a day. The water? I too have to be careful. If I drink too much water I am not hungry! As far as a weight plateau, yes and it can be annoying, but I just keep on moving and it works itself out. I weigh myself once a week. Hang in there! -

@NewBeginning201, we do have quite a bit in common, don't we? Iyou are doing wonderful! Our current weight losses are also quite close, I am at 40 lost, but that is from a weigh in theee days ago, so who knows it sounds like we are losing at the same rate too! My weight loss is obvious only because i always lose quite a bit in my face first, weird, huh? By the way, people are noticing, they may be jealous! lol -

Hi! I had my gastric sleeve surgery on Dec. 30th, 2014. Due to my family's negative response when I brought up weight loss surgery, I did not share my plans with anyone except my husband. I am very happy to have found this support forum. 40 lbs so far, and many more to go. I just can't keep up with the water! I am constantly reminding myself how much healthier I have already become. Judgmental families are tough to deal with, but you are doing this for you so congratulate yourself every so often! -
Approved, but concerned BMI may drop below 40
Liz5012 replied to vsg4missy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I too was concerned about my BMI. The pre-op diet worked well, maybe too well! It turned out that my insurer only wanted to know the BMI From the first analysis, they looked at the pre-op diet loss as part of the process. My advocate was a big help easing my BMI fears.
