    Avmed H M O anyone?

Each doctor is different. I back out of WLS once before, so I've actually taken 2 psych evals with 2 different docs. Neither ever had me take a 2 hour test. Switch many not be that easy because very few pschologist accept AvMed for WLS evals, so you may want to stick it out. Also check to see if your policy has changed, I had to provide 4 months of weight-loss documentation within a six month period.

    Avmed H M O anyone?

Have you had a response from insurance yet? I have a BMI of 42 with 1 comorbidity. My husband's BMI was 38 with 1 comorbidity and we were both approved by AvMed in one week. Good luck!

    How old are/were you?

I will be 35. My husband was 38.
  4. My doctor and Nut said that My husband could have baby food fruits and applesauce with no sugar added. It helps because it provides variety. Ask your doctor or Nut if its okay.
  5. My husband and I both plan to have the sleeve. He is about 12 hours post-op and doing great! I had so much anxiety for the past 2 days, this was truly a leap of faith. This was an extremely difficult process to get to, but so much easier after. He was walking with soap little discomfort due to gas. we are now waiting for the day when he can stop all of his blood pressure medication. Now I can't wait to have mine. My documents were submitted to insurance about a week ago. I'm calling them tomorrow. Does anyone have any advice that they would give us immediately following the procedure?

    Leap of Faith!

We're home now, should he mostly rest or is moving around good? I'm making him take it easy, but he's not liking it. How much is ok?
  7. I'm in Orlando. Dr. Jawad is my surgeon. Congrats to you and good luck!
  8. I completed all of my insurance requirements and the items were submitted for insurance approval on Friday. My husband was approved by insurance within a week and already has a date. I am so anxious! So many thoughts are running through my head. We went to the pre-op appointment for him yesterday. I felt the nurse was judging us and later found out she was. She said we didn't look that big! We are 280-290 lbs with high BP and multiple meds. How could she? I never tell healthcare professionals that I too am a nurse. I felt so bad that she would try to discourage us after all we've went through to even get to that point. Now I'm second guessing our decision, again. What gives her the right? Also, I'm hoping insurance doesn't feel the same. My BMI is 42, I'd say I'm big enough; not to mention the discomforts that carrying almost 300 pounds bring!
  9. I'm approved!!!!! Insurance told me this morning!
  10. I'm sorry you have to endure such a comment, especially at this sensitive time. I agree with LipstickLady about counseling, but you BOTH have to want it. You have my prayers and good luck!

    Pre-op isn't easy....

Day 2 of pre-op diet of full liquids. I can say this is the Hardest thing I've ever done! I'm hungry but it's more that I want something to actually chew and not just swallow. It is what it is! I'm going to keep pushing through. one bonus is I thought it would be really hard because of my addiction to Pepsi... But surprisingly I haven't even craved one. Just a big headache but my oils take care of that! What type of oils are you taking? I'm really concerned about my Diet Coke addiction. Normally if I attempt to "detox" from it I feel really bad.
