    Cash pay?

    @@BarrySue - who's doing your surgery?
  2. Have too had those problems and wanted to keep my uterus. About 7 years ago, I had an ablation and the cells grew back within 2 years. I had a second "Hydro-Derm" ablation almost 5 years ago and it has been WONDERFUL! You really have to figure out what works best for you. Talk to your doctor and get a list of options. Good luck!

    TMI! Question

MiraLax and Milk of Magnesia are my go to friends for this problem. I take daily stool softeners, but the MiraLax and MOM give me help if the softeners aren't quite doing the job.
  4. I had the same thing happen to me and my husband. The RN completing his preop work up (2 days before the surgery) told me that we didn't look big enough to have the surgery. This was after she looked us up and down with so much judgment. I brushed it off and continued with the process as I didn't want to upset my husband. They really need to understand that is is our choice and ppl like us are the reason they have a job. We have gone through so much to get to the point of preop and final tests. If insurance and the surgeon approves, who are you to go against them.
  5. Congrats! Welcome to the beginning of your new life.

    Guillain-Barre

I am a Therapeutic Apheresis Nurse and that is one of the more common diseases we treat. I've been doing this job for 15 years and have had WLS only 10 weeks, but I have never heard of GB after WLS. If you don't mind me asking, did they treat with plasma exchanges or IVIG?

    Tiredness and Regret

It is very common. It hurt me sometimes to eat and even to drink, but each day got better. Make sure you take your vitamins and get your protien in. I also went to my PCP for a B12 injection. I'm good now, 10 weeks out, and you'll get there too. The reduced food intake led to some of my regret, but that quickly disappeared. The best to you!

FINALLY out of plus size bottoms!

Congrats!!!! I have that same issue, but I am so grateful because I still want to be shapely. My waist is small, but the hips, thighs, and butt..... I'm glad to here that you've made it to the slimmer side of the store. It gives me hope.

this might be a bit awkward but....

I had a bad case of constipation about 1 week post op. I had to have an enema and took Miralax twice a day for 3 days. Then I went on daily stool softeners and Miralax every few days. I wasn't prepared for how bad the constipation could get. I wasn't "regular" prior to the surgery and it has been intensified by my new diet.

    Support Groups!

I personally don't tell many people for several reasons: 1. A lot of people are judge mental and down right mean, or even envious. 2. Telling others creates a certain development of expectation. People expect you to be thin instantly 3. I don't like all the questions. Once I'm a little further out, I will be more open. I've told quite a few people that i knew would support me, but I still see this as a personal journey and I can't take emotional hitch-hikers right now. I'm 2 months out, just beginning, and it has been great. I just choose not to open my life to everyone right now because I'm learning the new me. I believe I deserve to do so without being under others microscope.

    QUESTION FOR MY FLORIDANS

My husband and i also had our surgeries with Dr. Jawad at Orlando RMC. He was very thorough and the nurses were awesome. We electected to drive from Ocala to have our surgery him perform our procedures there. He was the BEST choice for us!

How long were you off work?

2 weeks should be enough. I took 2 weeks, I have a sedentary job as well. I was fine and had no problems with going back after two weeks.

I'm in! My current weight is 242. My goal weight for this challenge is 220.
  17. Constipation....I wish someone had told me! Even with the fluids, it was a REAL problem. Get up and walk as soon as possible. It's temporarily uncomfortable, but it helps in the long run! Your journey is your own! Take advantage of this blessing. It's a wonderful tool, but you have to work. It's the best that I've ever done for myself.
  18. We are about the same time out, I was sleeved on 3/31. Have you tried the flavored pour-ins, like Crystal Light? I really like the Crush brand flavors, they don't seem to have that after taste. Also, if you surgeon allows, drinking with a straw was a real game changer for me. It helped me get my water down much easier.
  19. I was sleeved on 3/31. I've lost about 34 lbs since my surgery, with a stall the last 2 weeks. I was beginning to think I was not doing well. Thanks for your posts, they're encouraging!

    Drains?

My surgeon used a drain. It was taken out before I left the hospital, after a dye study to check for leaking. I didn't mind it at all.
  21. -Being at my son's football games and practices without the subconscious thought that I'm the "fattest" mom -ONEderland!!!! -Buying my first dress from White House Black Market -Transitioning to the "skinny" side of the store -Burning my Lane Bryant card -No more clothing size in the teens! -Being more active with less pains (knee pain, back pain, shortness of breath) -Not being so hot and sweaty in the upcoming Florida summer heat And the list could continue for days.....

    Metformin after Sleeve?

I think you know your body, but keep in mind your "new body". I think you should get a glucometer, because your intake is different from what it was preop; your dosage may need to be adjusted if you resume your meds. Taking your levels may not be a bad idea for a while. The best to you!

    Using a straw.

I'm about 5 weeks out and a straw is the best way for me to get all my fluids down. Without it I really struggle.

    drink Soda after surgery?

I'm about 5 weeks post op and was a diet coke lover. I drank at least a 6 pack a day pre op. I don't miss, I don't want, I can't have, but have no desire for it.
