How are you treated by people pre-surgery versus post-surgery?
1SlimmerMe replied to james1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Peope treat you differrently because you are a totally different person. You have more energy, confidence, and higher self esteem. I attribute most of the changes to that. I am now more engaged and my appearance is more in line with the rest of the professional world, because I can dress more nicely and look and feel better in my clothes and my skin. I've lost 100 pounds from my heaviest weight and the biggest change has been within myself. There will be those that whisper or talk about you, but that's part of the journey. Enjoy! Work hard! And Succed! The world needs you at your BEST!!! -

Loss over four months out?
1SlimmerMe replied to HazelMotes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
10 pounds per month is great. I'm an losing at that same rate a little over 6 months out. I've learned that the surgeons want the best possible result to make their stats look good. This is your life and your body. Continue to do the work and it will continue to show. The best to you! -
Poop (Literally, and TMI, obviously)
1SlimmerMe replied to sonnysun's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Poop or the lack there of is a very common problem. I was not regular prior to the surgery and that has not changed. I took Miralax twice a day for 3 days, there once for 3, and then every other day for three doses; of course with my doctor's approval. Now I take daily stool softeners, but When I miss them I know. The best to you! It will get better!!! -

Insurance gave Dr wrong coverage info?!
1SlimmerMe replied to jenjackson's topic in Insurance & Financing
I wish I had something profound to tell you. The best thing I could say is hang in there. You are giving it the best fight you have, and that alone is commendable! I wish you the best! -
I was scheduled to be home within 24 hours of surgery. However, general anesthesia makes me extremely nauseous and I couldn't keep anything down. I too had a second leak test post op that went well, but my nurse was a little hesitant to send me home (almost 2 hours away) not being able to keep anything down. I was also a little concerned so she and I decided that I would stay. The next day I was ready to run home!

Day 5 liquid diet help!
1SlimmerMe replied to LoseItKacy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It sounds like your body it detoxing from the sugar and other things that it's use to having. At this point it think you should talk to your NUT, but it's also mind over matter. This is why the preop diet is so important. The days start becoming more bearable between 5-7 according to everyones accounts. Hang in there, once you get through this phase, it gets better. The best to you! -

What's the scoop on chewing gum?
1SlimmerMe replied to tdhaddox's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If I had to stop chewing gum I may not have had the surgery! My surgeon said it was fine, but just don't swallow it. I'm not 5, I don't swallow gum. I don't go a day without it. -

@@Mrs.Truffles congrats and keep up the good work! -
This is the reason my husband and I chose to have the surgery together. Both of you have work to do; you have to go the extra mile to make sure he feels secure and he has to do the work to be secure. As long as you fell in love with the characteristics that aren't physical you should be fine...I just hope those don't change! LOL! The best to you.

I agree with @@Inner Surfer Girl. Your journey is your own. Don't compare yourself. Stalls are inevitable. Starting weights, heights, body type, and activity levels differ. I've learned to enjoy where you are today, because it's a better place than last month!

I'm about 6 months out and sometimes my tummy makes embarrassing noises loud enough for the room to hear! I just laugh it off.

Congrats! I can't wait to join you in Onerland!
