Mine would be an 8, I believe. -
My stomach hurts just thinking about carbonation.

How do you know when your full?
MoosieGirl replied to NeeNeeD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have no sense of fullness or hunger yet (3 weeks postop). I'm told it will come back. For now I'm eating by the measuring spoon and the clock. -
Love your 8 week smile. Congrats!!

MoosieGirl replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
3 weeks out. No complications. Just a bit of soreness. -
Good luck to you!!

I use toddler ware. I also got little Ziploc brand storage containers - the little ones. They're perfect for 4oz.

The invention that could end obesity?
MoosieGirl replied to blashlee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The FDA requires safety and efficacy. Which means not only does it have to be safe, but it must be effective. Efficacy isn't causing rapid weight loss for a few months. It's got to be longer than that. Also, the benefits have to outweigh the risks (that's why drugs get approved despite the sometimes nasty side effects). I can't speak to the device in the article, but it's possible the side effects might not be worth it in its current design. I haven't worked on the device so I don't know. -
The invention that could end obesity?
MoosieGirl replied to blashlee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Medical device companies have been working for years on weight loss devices. I work for one of the companies listed. I've seen what we and the other competitors are doing in r&d. It's fascinating science. But there's a reason the FDA hasn't approved any of the implantables yet. -
I'm with @BLERDgirl. What HR did is illegal. I'd have a talk with HR and remind them of this fact. Heck, HR didn't even need to know what you are having done.

How to tell your 4 yr old?
MoosieGirl replied to fuzzywhitebunny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told my boys that I was having surgery. My 7yo asked why. So I explained that the doctor was going to fix my tummy so I could be more healthy. My 5yo decided I was either having my babymaker removed again (hysterectomy a year prior), or was having it put back in. I saw no reason to correct him, as he had decided it for himself. -
A Lenny & Larry cookie. Well... half of one at most.

Did your shoe size change after weight loss surgery?
MoosieGirl replied to Okiebon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm just shy of three weeks out and had to go shopping for shoes today. My loafers and flats were all too small. Anything with laces I can cinch tight enough... for now. -
Some people say the hospital is restful That's never been my experience. Hang in there!!
-
Both my boys (5&7) knew I was having surgery. I explained to the 7yo that I was having tummy surgery to help me be healthier. He was fine with that explanation. My 5yo just assumed I was going in either to have my baby maker taken out again (the way we explained my hysterectomy last year), or to have it put back in. I haven't corrected him because he's happy with that assumption. If they ever ask questions when they're older I'll explain it in an age appropriate way.

Pre-op isn't easy....
MoosieGirl replied to Riz2006's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Somehow pre-op was easy for me. I don't know why, but I'm so thankful. Even though it's hard on you, keep it uo. The weight loss before surgery feels good. And shrinking that liver is always a good thing! You can do this! Consider chewing ice if you need to crush/chew things. -
What is your exercise of choice? What works for you?
MoosieGirl replied to funky_monkey800's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I hit up the treadmill or the bike. Then I do stretching, isometric exercises, or weightlifting that works multiple musclegroups. Never the same thing two days in a row. -
So I am super happy at the moment
MoosieGirl replied to lucy0911's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Woohoo! Go, you! I have some new pants three sizes down waiting in my closet. I'm afraid to try them on for fear of not fitting. I'm going to try them on my one month surgiversary.
