Hi! My surgery is July 17. I am on similar preop diet. I also started my diet on Monday. I feel anxious and even slightly questioning my decision. I was confident and just going though the motions for he past few months but I remind myself each day it's for the best.

Good stuff!! I am Dominican and LOVE to dance bachata... It's fun and great workout--especially the really fast one called "tipico"

Any advice? I am on day 1 and already I want to chew my arm off lol I am doing liquids with 1 meal.

I can eat certain veggies but it's giving me horrible stomach pain. I just started taking vitamins too (liquid) and it might not be sitting well. I contacted my NUT. Let's see what she says...

Thank you all for the comments! My stomach is messed up since I went on a food funeral weekend :-/ now I want warm soup but don't know if I could. I need to read directions of my NUT

Ive been doing the same! I have gained like 5lbs. It is what it is... this will not happen again so I am enjoying my last favorite meals lol

I have been on "food funerals" for a month. I know that's not good but whatever... I'm starting to get mentally ready as I start my preop on Monday YIKES

Hi all It's been a few weeks since I have been on here. I wanted to update everyone on my journey so far. I set a tentative date and submitted insurance paperwork on Wednesday, June 3... I got a call today saying I was approved!!!! My surgery date is July 17. I am very excited and nervous but happy to see all my work for the past 6 mths be worthwhile. I am sure I will posting preop questions soon lol Thank you all for your support so far!

Hello everyone!! I just got approved and will be having surgery July 17... I am on 2 week diet consisting of all liquids and 1 meal a day. I am excited and nervous... Looking forward to having buddies through this journey!

Congrats on making the decision for YOU and YOUR SON! People are always going to judge what they don't know! My mom passed at 56 as well die to morbid obesity. I was just diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure... Plus other things since starting this process. We WILL do better and can do this. Don't let anyone discourage you.... Onward!!!

Thank you all for the encouragement! It's been tough and I am still not used to it. Hopefully I will get accustomed to it or the nasal pillow will work well for me! My bday is 6/25!! Great day for surgery :-) good luck! Yayy!!! My bday is 6/25!!!

Those are all of my concerns! Today I get the nose pillow hoping for a better rest. I been tossing, adjusting, etc. I get it on as early as possible to try to get 5 hrs then take it off as soon as the 5 hrs hit! Good luck to you too!

My endoscopy also revealed I had Hpylori! I just finished my 14 days antibiotic and will submit stool test next week. Through my sleep Study found out I had a mild case of sleep apnea which I'm using cpap for. When I did my blood work with PCP found out I was starting point diabetic (6.4) and high blood pressure, If it weren't for the surgery regs, I wouldn't know any of these issues existed. I just thought I had weight issues and a high BMI. I Guess it's a blessing in disguise... It will all be much better soon!

Thank you so much! I actually had a horrible night with it. I get hot at night and was sweating around my nose ( I had the epson nasal mask). I am trying to see if the nasal pillow is better! Wish me luck...

I am in the later phases of getting my approval and am terrified and excited. I've never ever had any surgery before so it's pretty scary overall. I go through all these food funerals (eating everything in sight because it's the last time). However I start realizing that it's not that I won't ever eat again it's just that I'll eat different. This mentality of binge eating and loving food is what has me here in the first place. Will I be able to eat 3 slices of pizza NO but maybe 1/2 a slice once in a while. Hey... I might not want that half a slice anymore because you realize you don't need it after being healthy. So my long winded point is that it's normal to be nervous, anxious, scared, excited, curious..... This is a life changing surgery but know that it will be for the better (Atleast for majority of folks here it is) Good luck and take it all a step at a time. It's a lot of work but from what I've read worth it!

There are some sites that you can sell your old clothes on and get $ to buy new ones! Look at old posts for suggestions on where. I'm not there yet but hope to be :-)
