Eating on a road trip -- looking for suggestions.

I agree on chic-fila grilled nuggets. I stopped there on our 13 hour road trip. I also packed a cooler with some containers of food that I warmed at the gas stations. -

That's all I took off since I don't do any lifting or walking. I was good to go but made sure I was off pain meds by then.

How much food could you consume 6 months post op?
KCLatina replied to Josefina1210's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow, I feel like an odd ball... I can eat between 1.5-2.5 cups depending on the food. Is there anyone else at this level? -

I'm 4 months post op and I too am usually hungry most of the day even though I get in all my Protein and Water. The only way I can stop myself from snacking all day is staying under 1000 calories on MyFitness Pal app. I choose my food according to the calorie count but do snack more at night. My hunger is more intense after work so I save my calories for those times. At least you get full really fast! I can eat up to 2 cups of food and can tolerate everything -
Cold all the time post op day 10

I'm 4 months out and I have to say this is my favorite side effect. I no longer have the sweat mustache from just sitting outside or turn red because I'm hot and fat. I like being chili!!! -

Hey everyone! I work a job that has me running around the city all day and rarely allows me the chance to stop and warm up my lunch. What Protein filled fast food options have you all turned to in crunch time? Right now my go to is Chic-fila's grilled nuggets (8 count).... Would love some suggestions!!!

If agree on maybe not eating enough... Or maybe, just maybe you'll have a BIG loss all at one time like a lot of people on here... Be hopeful!

I was sleeved on Jan 20th and I'm down 30 lbs. On most days I'll use every calorie that MFP has to offer for that day. Occasionally I'll eat about 800 a day but no matter what I get in my Protein, Water and Vitamins. Having said that, I average a weight loss of about 3 pounds a week. My question is... Will we still loose if we eat the allotted MFP calories per day/per weight?

I was all self pay in Kansas and received a discount for it. Everything was 11,999. That includes follow up for up to a year, NUT and support groups. I did have to pay an extra 700$ for my throat test since your under anesthesia for it. Other than that it's just paying for all the supplements you'll be on for the rest of your life and liquid diet stuff which isn't much. Hope that helps!

How long from first consult to surgery date (Self Pay)?
KCLatina replied to arrical8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was all self pay and the day of my first consult I got approval and my date set that day. We scheduled it a month out only because it was his first open appointment or I would've went sooner. I also had to have time to get in my throat test and my week of liquid dieting before surgery so it needed to be at least 2 weeks after my first consult. I was super surprised that I walked out of my first appointment with a surgery date. I'm 2 months post op now and doing great. 30 pounds down in 8 weeks! -
I'm 2 months out and have had the "bubble guts" twice now after eating frozen yogurt with nuts and then again with my first romaine salad. It lasted about 8 hours and was horrible but because I love salad and yogurt so much I of course tried them both again anyway. Second time around for both didn't bother me at all, thank God! Still afraid to try deserts (sugar) after reading so many other people have reactions. I'm also afraid to try them and have no reaction and want them often...????

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO FEEL NORMAL/GOOD AGAIN?
KCLatina replied to downsizingdiva's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am also 8 weeks out and I agree that I'm not back to 100%. I'm definitely tired most of the time but agree that every week gets better. I also agree that our low calorie intake is probably contributing to the "abnormal" feeling. Can't wait to not feel so lazyish all day!!! ???? -
My significant other of 18 years was against it in the beginning. He kept bringing up finances and how we couldn't afford it and how we should use the money to work on the house and other excuses. I kept on with all the appointments and prepared for surgery anyway and he eventually came around. I had to convince him that I will be a much happier women, mom and family member if I felt good about myself. He admitted that he was scared I would leave him if I got skinny or was 'too happy'. He ended up being the most supportive person the day of surgery and said seeing me in pain and in a hospital made him realize he just wanted me to be happy. He now helps me prepare my Protein meals and encourages me not to cheat. His fears (insecurities) still pop their head every once in awhile but we're working through on them. Keep pushing towards your goals and he'll come around. Good Luck!
