Started at size 18 bottom and 18/20 top by Lane Bryant sizes. Now I wear a 4/6 on bottom and xs-m shirt and still losing. Barely hit normal BMI. Not really shooting for a smaller size (but not complaining either) but I want to settle into a lower BMI and improve my measurements. Currently 34-30-38...working on the waist to a proportion I like on myself. Very happy with my progression and the way my body has responded.

Currently, I'm 11 months out from my surgery and wear size 6 or 8 in tops and dresses and size 4 in slacks. Before I started losing weight, I wore size 26-28 tops and size 1X or 2X bottoms. It took a long time before I was out of plus sizes, but once I got into regular sizes, I progressed through them rapidly. It was quite expensive to keep replacing my clothes, but I kept underestimating how much I would lose.

Your body is still adjusting. I'm 6 weeks out and I've lost 30 lbs so to me it seems right. Check with your doctor at your follow up and be prepared for less weight loss weeks 3 and 4.

Hi all! So I had my surgery (gastric bypass) 2 weeks and 3 days ago. Everything is going great other than the whole staying hydrated thing. I've had a bunch of issues getting in my Water. But I'm working on it. Anyways the point of this post.. I have lost 30 pounds since surgery. I've been told it's noticible is my neck and chest and face. But honestly I do not see it AT ALL. I am just wondering how much weight you all lost before you started seeing it and feeling it?? I am so excited to start feeling my clothes getting looser and start seeing the changes and I feel like with 30 pounds I should at lease see or feel SOMETHING.

I was never treated poorly to my face at least prior to weight loss surgery. I was always told things like I was beautiful but I should lose weight. Duh. Well I'm now 5 months post op and 40lbs from my goal weight so I still have work to do and still see myself as very heavy. My husband tells me I'm skinny and I know I'm not so that aggravates me lol. But since the weather is getting nicer I've finally replaced my clothes and after a year of working losing weight ppl are really noticing. I've kept my surgery a secret due to I don't feel it's anyone's business. In the past week these are things I've heard "you lost a lot of weight" "how did you lose weight" "what's your secret" "are you on a crack head diet" "you didn't have wls did you? It's incredibly unhealthy for you". All of the above comments to me were rude. A simple you look good or great job would suffice. So I think some ppl are just rude either way. I just try ignoring them and enjoy things like wearing whatever fashionable clothes I want now since I no longer have to shop in the limited selection plus size departments.

Everyone loses at different rates. Think about losing 30lbs! Have you ever done that so quickly before?
Remember that every pound you lose this time, it will remain gone forever if you follow the plan.
You also have to remember at about 3 weeks post op, your body starts to push back because it goes into starvation mode. If you follow the plan and continue the weight will continue to drop off.
Remember you did not gain it all in a month, it is going to take time to lose it. This time is different because those pounds will be gone forever.
    You are doing great!!!

My Bypass was on April 6th. Prior to surgery I lost 15lbs on the liquid diet, when I got out of hospital I weighed and, I guess due to Water & swelling, I weight exactly what I did before the liquid diet. Since that day I have lost 30lbs. (this includes the 15 prior to surgery).
So, basically, 3 weeks 15lbs... or 30lbs, however you look at it. It doesn't seem like enough! Thoughts?

What are you guys eating after 6 weeks from bypass surgery? Would you guys share a typical day?
I struggling with food, or shakes, I don't have any strictures or problem, just my stomach can take certain food, and I get full very fast, I'm not taking 60gr of Protein. I'm feeling very discouraged.

Hey there. I looked on the forums for twenty something's and it was a ghost town! I just had my bypass 3/31 and I'm healing well. I'm looking for someone my age who would like to text updates and keep each other positive. I'd prefer someone in a similar stage of the surgery but I am open and truly just would love to make a connection with someone who is looking for something similar. Please respond or pm me.

I am only six weeks out and able to eat almost anything. There are a few triggers and I haven't tried all my old favorites, but it scares me that I have so few issues with food. I am constantly worried that I will go back to my old habits and food choices without even realizing it. I am grateful that I do not have constant issues with my new pouch, but I had thought that there would be more stomach restraint, at least for the first six months. Does anyone have suggestions on how to stick with the program when there are too few problems? I really want to succeed long term with this surgery!

I'm not sure if I qualify as a success story yet but I do believe I experienced a life changing event. It took me years to pull the trigger on surgery. I've gained weighed steadily over the last 10 years despite doing what doctors had advised me to do. A myriad of reasons and overall giving up led me to where I was. Oct 7th I weighed in at 248lbs. As a 5'2 woman I was a size 20 comfortably. I realize now how in denial I was over where I had got too. Do you have that one picture that made you cry? I do. I never took any pics until my husband and I celebrated 10 yrs of marriage in Puerto Rico. This before picture was what made me get surgery a month later. The now pic is from today after playing in the snow with my girls. I'm not even at goal and unbelievably happy. Just thought I'd post the pics bc they were my motivation from others.

I am feeling pretty disappointed. Since having my gastric bypass eight weeks ago, I have lost 27.5 pounds. I am plenty happy with that. It's just that nothing, and I mean nothing, bothers my stomach. I can eat anything I want with absolutely no repercussions whatsoever. I actually chose the bypass because of the side affects it usually brings. I am worried that it will have a bearing on my future weight loss. Is there anyone else out there who is in the same predicament? How did you do long term? I am currently eating 900-1000 calories a day. I know that is a lot of calories for most people, but I am losing around 2 pounds a week, which is what my goal is. Does anyone have experience with this?

It's going to get better. ..soon. Just focus on your recovery. Trust me, you will eat solid food again, and your happy will come back. Sometimes I wishIi could go back to the beginning of my surgery when it was so easy to follow the plan. Some days I struggle really hard to stay the course because I an eat anything! Nothing bothers my tiny tummy. All the best.
