  1. I've had my surgery done in Mexico, does anyone know of a fill dr in AZ that works with mexico patients? Thanks Chela
  2. Have you ever heard anyone say that? Well before my unfill almost a week ago I was not losing weight, I was coughing and choking at night and what felt like almost dying over my saliva in the middle of the night. A few bandsters ( I think one was JillPill) from the chat room advised that I talk to my DR about getting an unfill and treating acid reflux. I did not want an unfill. I read about others having to get an unfill and I’ve said emphatically “ poor baby” and vowed I would never pay to get looser. And yet I did. And I loved it. J No more almost dying at night, no more NOT drinking water, no more mushies (well maybe a little) and I LOST 4 LBS in almost a week…have I said this already I LOVE YOU UNFILL!!! LOL All this to say to other bandsters- Do not live banded life in misery. If you cannot keep water down, if your gut ( I mean instincts but hell gut too ) says you are too tight talk to your DR. Some people don’t need or can’t tolerate a fill every month or even every other month. Some have lost sufficient weight without a fill at all. An unfill is not the end of the world.—Take care of your bodies and your bands. I have definitely learned my lesson..Thanks to all the bandsters who’ve answered all of my many questions..Thanks JillPill (I hope I got that right) Happy Banded 11/23/07 Biggest reason for band accomplished-NO MORE DIABETIC MEDICINE 205 surgery 188 first fill 179 unfill 175 current

Too Tight? What do you think?

this was a really great post thanks to all for sharing..I was wondering about the mushies and the unfills..I'm pretty tight since my first fill about a month ago. I can get down mashed potatoes, Soups and veggies but no meat or bread at all and I've been wondering about an unfill but afraid that I would go back to overeating..I think I'll continue on :-) Thanks to all for sharing this really helped me out Happy
  4. HI all, Everytime I've needed support or advice this board has helped me so I'm hoping someone has some insight to help me now :-) feeling miserable because I havent lost weight in over a week. I work out everyday and still have a little restriction. SHould I get another fill? I'm worried that I'll be that lucky person to be filled too tight. My diet is pretty light-no bread 1 shake in the morning, Soup or wrap for lunch and something like fish or Beans for dinner. I dont eat heavy meat anymore. I had the surgery on 11/24 and went from 205-188 first fill 1/21 went from 188-181 and now I'm holding steady at 181 the weird thing is that I do have restriction, sometimes I think I can take down some real heavy food like a burrito or a thick sammie and bam it's coming back up. but I am not losing weight. I even gain a pund or so on some days.. I'm trying to tell myself that weight isn't all of it I have stopped taking my diabetic medicine but the scale doesnt help. Should I get a fill?? or do I need to tweek my diet?? Thanks Happy2be (not so happy today)
  5. that's why I love this forum :-) thanks for the words of support..ok lets see my shakes are about 130 calories, I have a total of about 800 calories a day I think I will wait another week or so before deciding to get another fill and I'll start measuring inches, that may help as well and I do need to remind myself that I'm not getting any bigger, I'm too happy about that LOL I am definitely going to start writing down what I'm eating daily that may help as well..it'll help me see on the days that U'm losing what I'm doing and maybe I'll just replicate those days. More than anything I think I just needed support Thank you guys :-) I am definitely feeling much better..advise well taken :-)
  6. Just wondering how others are doing? I'm feeling great physically no gas and finally slept on my side last night but I'm feeling pretty hungry...How are you guys? Feeling hungry yet? How are your incision sites? When is your first fill?

    Help!!!!! Gained 2 Pds!

HI, The same thing happened to me, I'm only three weeks out of surgery and the first two weeks afterwardsmy weight was up and down, lost some gained some...A couple of things are going on, your body is still recovering and if you are only on 500 calories your body thinks it's starving so it's holding onto weight..DRINK MORE Water _ not yelling but a nice reminder that your body needs water, once I started drinking water the weight started coming off ( not a lot but a bit) and when you can start walking..Even more wieght comes off when I walk, at costco or Target every bit helps Your reaction was the same as mine which is basically I just had surgery, shouldnt the weight just come off?? it's normal just give it a second...and I can't believe I'm telling someone to be patient, I was just crying about it last week LOL and as always..Use this forum for support I wish you the best Happy

Game: What Color is Oprah Today?

I am so late with this post and was getting so heated reading the replies..I agree with most..vernacular changes for many reasons, to make others feel comfortable and when around others that have an accent some tend to pick it up..sometimes the copier doesnt even notice they are doing it As far as Oprah, if you were a fan you would have noticed that she had Obama on her show way before his announcement for presidency..He was the mayor of Chicago for goodness sakes she supported him a long time ago and I'm actually surprised that she vocalized her support in his run for president..she knows how much of an influence she has. For those who dislike the fact that she is supporting Obama "get over it", you probably are terrified that her support means more votes for Obama :-) Oprah is a very influencable woman and why is this because so many people watch her show DAILY...most of Oprah's crowd is full of intelligent viewers you know people who can make up their own minds and for those that choose to go Ophahs way..Well then I'l glad she's backing Obama...this was a fun and upsetting post to read..I dont think the initial was intended to be racist but it was definitely ignorant…common and ignorant.
  9. Hi Tyman, yes the 30th is considered congrats on the surgery, I hope your swelling goes down soon. I've read that a couple of people have started walking right after surgery up to 2 miles a day even. I wish you the best inyour recovery and weight loss Hi Crispy98a I can't wait till I feel as good as you. I was told there is a big difference from week 2 to weeks 3 and 4. I'm at week 2. After surgery I lost 6 lbs but started drinking more Water and gainded 3 lbs so no real progressive weight loss. Maybe after the 1st fill. I just started soft foods today and am so happy I can't believe how much I missed chewing LOL. Well I wish you the best and keep in touch Banded 12/3 pre op 205 12/7 194

  13. Hi All, I am a new bandster banded the day after turkey day in Tijuana..I wish I could say my recovery has been easy but sometimes it's been HELL!! ..but I made it through week one WHOO HOOO I have a seroma at my port site :cry but thanks to this site I've read that it's not the end of the world, I've been putting a hot compress and a heat pad on it 2/3 times per day and it looks to be getting better I do have a question for anyone reading? :help:I have a scar that looks like it's not closing, my scars are closed with wire stitches and the one under my breast that is not getting air seems to be open still. Has anyone had this issue? I would post a pic but it seems pretty difficult to do. On another note this site has been tremendously helpful, my husband says I'm addicted LOL I look at this site everyday Thanks all Happy
