Hey @@Elode thank you for this "timely" post, its a massive reality check for me! I've been in some funk lately since my beautiful mum passed away and i've put on 6lb as of this morning ????. I take full onus for this. After 12 months working hard on me, I know what I've done wrong and why, i just don't understand why I'm sabotaging myself and eating the crap I'm not supposed to be eating and not exercising as much as i should be. I need to snap out of this but i just don't know how ????. I pray that i can get back on track and stay on track and that starts this morning, its 5:45am and I'm getting ready to go for 1.5hr walk. Hopefully next time i post on these boards i will have lost what i've recently put on!

Hi Kindle, i had my gall bladder removed 3 months after i had VSG surgery. Recovery for me was about the same pain wise, however i was on strict advice to not lift anything greater than 5 lbs for 5 whole weeks. That was the most frustrating thing. I followed the doctors instructions and had no issues. I was very lucky my late mother was with me to help me for those 5 weeks.

229 this morning, *sigh* yoyoing again. Have a great week ahead everyone.

I use non stick fry pan.. No oil needed. I make scrambled egg with a little bit of milk, whisk it up and then fry it in a hot fry pan.

I am quite keen to hear reviews on these products being sold, this would help those of us who live outside of the USA make better informed decision on what we are purchasing, especially since we don't get free delivery regardless of how much we spend.

Hi @@Tracytma, i did not have GERD prior to having the vertical sleeve. I developed this soon after surgery and it was absolutely awful! I was on rapreprozole 20mg a day which controlled it. I currently do not take meds daily for this anymore, however, on the odd occasion that i feel that burning sensation travelling up my oesophagus i just have a pill and I'm all good.

Checking in, 227 today. Have a great week ahead everyone ????.

Hi @@Tracytma well I'm not going to lie, for me it has been absolutely, 100% worth it!
I'm a band to sleeve revision patient due to the band failing. I was banded in 2010, had it removed in August 2014. I was revised 12 months ago and i have not ever regretted that i made this decision. I have lost 154lbs in 12 months and I'm still losing ????.
I have had a few challenges in the first 6 months, i could not eat meat or dairy and i developed GERD. At the 7 month point i was able to meat and dairy and now i can safely say that at 12 months my GERD is all but gone ( once in a very odd blue moon do i have to take meds for it). I have lymphoedema on both lower limbs and that is almost gone.
Life is good!!
I wish you all the very best in your weight loss journey xox.

From what i have read a lot more sleeve patients suffer GERD after their op. I am one of those! Most of what I've read, that had GERD prior to surgery, have opted to have the bypass and were successful. Do some more research and maybe get a second or even third opinion as to what type of operation you should opt for to help you with this.
I wish you all the best with your weight loss journey.

Hi all its normal to be nervous, I'm a band to sleeve revision patient due to the band failing. I was revised 12 months ago and i have not ever regretted that i made this decision. It has been the best decision i have made for my health and wellbeing. I have lost 154lbs in 12 months.. Yes you read that right ???? and I'm still losing. I had a few challenges in the first 6 months, i could not eat meat or dairy and i developed GERD. At the 7 month point i was able to meat and dairy and now i can safely say that at 12 months my GERD is all but gone ( once in a very odd blue moon do i have to take meds for it). 231 .. Sorry for the late response.

Hi Jen the nausea could possibly be due to problems with your gall bladder also, please do seek medical advice. 3 months after WLS i experienced extreme nausea where i was rushed to hospital. A few days later i was on the operating table having my gall bladder taken out!
Wish you all the best xox

I couldn't tolerate meat of any kind for the first 6 months. My new sleeve was ultra sensitive. Ive been able to eat most foods since then. Everyone is different.
Wish you all the best on your journey.

233 .. Going the wrong way ????
-
Why not just eat when you are hungry? That's the most natural way to do things.
Some of us dont feel "hunger" anymore... So its not that straight forward ????

You can count me in also, CW 233 - goal 220.
Hi Steph, sorry to be a pain, i believe my stats are incorrect for the first week. Ive copied what i originally posted ^^. Whilst id love to be at the weight thats listed on the spreadsheet, unfortunately I'm not there yet ????.

Thank you all, I needed to see this thread. I have finally had the courage to return after a hiatus of 4+ years. In the time I was away I lost both my beautiful mum and then my brother and then went through menopause . I have gained almost 90lbs and I’m so ashamed. I feel like such a failure. I’ve seen a dietician, nutritionist, and even seen a psych to help me through the self sabotaging I’ve been doing to myself. I have tried reset, I’ve tried going back to basics.. I just don’t seem to have the will power to do it all again.
