Maggie409 too funny because I have my weights for the last two years in my phone and at the bottom the # I need to be to be just overweight. I never thought about putting a scale on there of each step.....I may just do that! Proudgrammy too cute!! I just may!!

Maggie409 THANK YOU! Today is a rough day emotionally due to an illness in the family so I needed to hear that! Smf8396 you will get there! You are ALMOST there! A couple of weeks ago I was where you are now! Go us!
-
Thank you everyone! I am super proud of myself! Next mini goal is to be below the "obese" range. I need to lose 14 more pounds to simply be "overweight." I haven't seen THAT in well over 10 years!
-
I know exactly how you feel! I am only 9 weeks out but I Am right there with you. I haven't completely fallen off the bandwagon but I have made some iffy choices. I too get frustrated because I have "only" lost 22lbs since surgery. I have lost 44 since my highest weight in December, but still that is easy to "forget." I read these stories of other people losing SO fast and I just feel like it is going so slowly for me. You and I BOTH need to remember NOT to compare ourselves to others, we are all on our own journeys and our bodies are all unique. Get back up and hop BACK on that bandwagon girl! You've GOT this!

I am 6weeks post op and things are beginning to be too big (yay). My question is, did you all hang on to your old clothes when this happened, "just in case" or did you get rid of them IMMEDIATELY. I am leery because I have gained and lost SO many times and each time I got rid of my bigger clothes because "I would never need them again." While I am certain that is the case now it still makes me nervous

Amusement Parks and your new tummy

I am 8weeks out tomorrow and we have gone to amusement parks two weekends in a row now. Not a bit of trouble! Take it easy and listen to your body. -
Has anyone considered making other major changes to their appearance?
2bullymom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know this may seem trivial to some but it is a major decision to me. I have long hair, all the way down my back. I LOVE IT, but I have used it to hide behind while I have been fat. Almost a "I may be fat but I have great hair-look at that" kind of thing. It has SERIOUSLY been about the same thing as a comfort item for someone else. It has LITERALLY been the only thing I have loved about myself and the only thing I felt I had that made me "feminine." Given this surgery is a major life change and we are all about breaking out of our comfort zones, I am SERIOUSLY considering cutting it ALL off. A new, short and sassy look. Has anyone done or considered a major change like this? I'm only 7 weeks post op and don't want to be making rash decisions. But I also want to create the new and improved me. -

I DID IT! It's not as short as the picture I took in with me but it's short! AND I LOVE IT!!!! Not a twinge of regret -

Go you Miss Mac! The way I look at it this is our opportunity. Most of us hid in one way or another for so many years it's time for us to take the spotlight! Glam it up! Live the life we have let just pass by us for so long. -

Thanks ladies! Fat_free I am so relieved I am not the only one who feels as if I was "hiding." I know it sounds so strange to people but it really is the only way to describe it. My hair is coarse, THICK and has a natural wave. I am not overly worried about the stage where I lose some because there is so much of it! Idk hubby loves it but it will always grow back..... -
I was told by the nurses in my pre op class the REAL reason they tell people to stay away from carbonation is because it is a "gateway drug." You have one SMALL sip and next thing you know you've lost all will power. They had recently seen a woman who was coming in for revision from the sleeve to full bypass because she started just the way you did, a sip at a party. She then figured since it didn't have a negative effect she could have it. Fast forward she was drinking a 2 liter a day and had completely undone everything the surgeon had done for her. You need to ask yourself, is it REALLY worth the risk?

People Treat You Differently
2bullymom replied to deelavi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with mamaofmatthew here. When we feel better about ourselves we exude confidence and confidence is attractive! I am down 35# and I am already noticing people reacting to me differently. Part of it is human nature, yes there is something to the being drawn to attractive people thing. But the largest part is I feel better! Where as before I literally only owned 3 pair of jeans and about 5 or 6 t shirts that I could fit in to, now some of my "skinnier" clothes are fitting. That makes me feel better about myself, which means I now take time to make myself look good. Let's face it when we are chubby and have the limited range of clothing I did depression is your best friend. Try not to judge those who are treating you differently, but remember those who have been by your side all along. -
Today is "overweight" day!
2bullymom replied to Mike4132's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yay you! Hubby and I were just discussing this very thing. I am 3 bmi points from no longer being "obese" and I can't wait!!!!! I imagine it must be a fantastic feeling -
Is anyone close to the 35 BMI range?
2bullymom replied to kanknrysmom1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Unfortunately they will probably require specific medical documentation from a physician. I went thru this too and was a mess! This whole experience is an emotional roller coaster. My bmi was 39.7 in December and was down to 36.1 by day of surgery March 2. Stay calm and know everything will be ok. If extra documentation is required make it your duty to obtain it. The life change is so worth it -
What happens if we don't get in the "minimum" amount of protein? I am 6 weeks out and have had a hard time getting in the required amount (60 grams) of protein since day one. I am certain most days I am only hitting in the 40 range. Is this slowing my loss? I have "only" lost about 15 since surgery about 35 since the beginning of my two week liquid pre op diet. I also am noticing my strength doesn't seem what it once was. I am having a hard time opening water bottles and that seems strange. Could this be due to a lack of protein?
-
I have never seen these. Where can u get them?
-
Oh I know this feeling! It happened when I was about two weeks or so out. I let myself get TOO hungry and it felt like someone was stabbing me with a knife. I will NEVER make that mistake again! I am glad you found the cause of yours and hope they don't ever visit you again
-
Thanks ladies! Jamielogical so sorry you are going thru this too but glad to know I am not alone. I really don't have much that is truly too big at this point because I refused to buy clothes I literally had like 3 pair of jeans and a few t shirts to my name that I could get in to when I was at my largest. But when I get to that stage I will definitely keep my largest looking piece and get rid of the rest. You guys are right and Jamielogical you should listen to them too! This is NOT another diet this is a new LIFE. I NEVER thought I could live without Doritos, hot tamales and diet coke but I HAVE for almost TWO whole months!! WOOT woot!

I am 6 weeks out so I am eating (almost) a regular diet. A scrambled egg or yogurt and beef jerky for breakfast. Lunch consists of left overs of whatever was for dinner, Soup, lunch meat or low fat refried beans and taco meat for lunch and for dinner. I am just having a hard time getting to 60grams. Protein shakes don't sit well on my tummy. I was drinking Isopure for a while but the taste of them gets old quickly. Idk what my problem is to be honest.
-
I am sorry you are going thru the lack of strength thing too but I am glad I am not alone. It is beginning to bother me. I have "no flavor" protein powder but I had a bad experience with it when I added to to s/f pudding. I think it was the brand of pudding I was using but I am still leery to use the powder. I already add miralax to one liquid bottle during the day I suppose I could try the protein powder in another one. It all just gets so overwhelming

I am 5 weeks (tomorrow) out from my sleeve. This has been a really difficult food weekend. I have definitely eaten things that I shouldn't and I am feeling down on myself as a result. I have done very well so far, I have lost 30% of my excess weight. I guess I am just feeling overwhelmed. And so darn tired. I'm having a hard time getting my protein and fluids in. Just really discouraged

6 weeks out and not losing
2bullymom replied to Sunny22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We seem to be in the exact same place. I was sleeved 03/02/15 and have only lost 31 pounds (and that was since the end of December). May I ask how much you have to lose? My dr says I am not losing so fast because I only had 86 pounds to lose. He told me to keep working the program and the weight loss would start again. So I am telling you the same thing. I know how frustrating it is but we both will begin losing again soon -
Back to work soon- tiredness?
2bullymom replied to nikki1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went back to work two weeks post op. I have a desk job and work mon-Friday. I did great up until Friday. I was exhausted and had to leave late in the am and came home to sleep. That was just 3 days ago, I am of the hope that this week will be better. -
Lower-end BMI Sleeve Surgery. Any others?
2bullymom replied to Kevineastwest's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My bmi in December of 2014 was 39.7 and my weight was 246 at 5'6" tall. My thyroid was WAYYY out of whack so I restarted meds and By The time I had my pre-op in February weight was 236 bmi of 38 and by the time I went in for surgery on March 2 weight was 224 bmi 36.1. A week later post of my weight was 233 bmi 35.9. I have not gotten on a scale since my post op appointment and I refuse to until my next appointment on April 1. I know the fact I have "less" to lose means it will go more slowly and I don't want to be discouraged. It's hard tho when you see the stories of people losing 10 lbs in a week and that isn't your story as well.
