    Challenge

    I'm trying, I'm trying...I need to see y'all soon, life is just so crazy right now. Did I mention I'm going to El Salvador??? Not until July, but it's a lot of preparation and planning for it (thru the DC Ethical Society). There's a good 17 days I won't have to worry about eating junk...or exercising

    I need some local support and encouragement

    sweetheart! ok, it's alright to say life sucks sometimes, because sometimes it does. I feel like I was in your place a while back, I just didn't know it. I didn't do anything, wore the same clothes over and over, no makeup, hair dirty and in a ponytail, and don't even get me started on the thoughts. It's depression. That's what it is. And there's no one who can make it better for you. I don't know what you need or really what to say except that we are all here for you. For me, I left my husband because it was an abusive relationship, went through a whole lot of drama, and now am finally feeling ok about myself and my life. THERAPY. I resisted at first, but I can't tell you how much it helps just to have someone to talk to about this stuff. And you have us. So, we will try to help the best we can. In my point of view, you seem to be depressed. there is a lot going on around you, of which you feel you have no control over. And that's the truth. But I will tell you what you have control over. You. Accepting yourself and forhiving yourself are 2 ways to start liking you. one - so you ate 6 cookies. Big f-in deal. I have eaten so many bad things since being banded, you'd be shocked. Guess what? So has everybody. It's part of the mental thing, being banded around your brain, not just your stomach. And that takes serious time and realization. And it goes back and forth. I've eaten cheesesteaks and large chocolate milkshakes, but in the end, I forgave myself. No one's perfect. It's easy to be hard on yourself, harder to tell yourself it's ok and you'll do better tomorrow. Two - I know it's hard right now, but the better you look, the better you feel about yourself. You may not feel like getting nicer clothes on or putting on makeup, but it is an instant booster for mood, even if it's just a little bit. Over time, you will really start to feel good on the inside, too. I had to force myself to do these things, but I can honestly say I am happy now. Sure, life still sucks sometimes, and I still feel fat a lot or eat something I shouldn't. We have to let go and let God. Or if you don't believe in that, just realize there are things you can control, and things you can't. Work on the things you can, and the rest will fall into place. The way you view yourself ultimately impacts how you deal with life. You can do it, we're all here for you and love you. I'll check back to see how you're doing. And it takes courage to be so honest and open about your life, it seems as though you're heading in the right direction already by acknowledging these things and asking for help. HUGS!!!!

    hola!!! I have returned!!!

    Oh my gosh, it has been forever!!! So the last semester of your Master's degree is pretty much hell, FYI. I am so busy, it's ridiculous!!! Let me know what's going on with all you lovely ladies!!! I only have 38 pounds to go until my goal is reached, and in mid-July it will have been 1 year since I've been banded. I think it would be cool to be able to lose 38 pounds in 4 months, so I will have achieved my goal in 1 year of being banded...that would be awesome!!! I guess me & the protein train are gonna be good friends from here on out!!! Missed you guys, so holla back
  11. Ok, I think I'm definitely going to need a TT when I am at my goal, I already have the hangy-loose skin, plus I had a c-section when I had my son 3 years ago. Anyway, I was just wondering who out there has gotten a TT, who (Dr.) performed the surgery, where did you get it done, and how much was it? I'm not concerned with cost as much as I am a good doctor who knows what he's doing so I won't die, be disfigured, etc, etc.! Let me know the 411!!

    Motivation/Exercise

    HELLO??!!! If you are working out and eating veggies, maybe you are gaining muscle. Which is better, because it burns more fat. There's a little back & forth for a while, but then you'll be steadily losing if you keep it up! Do you have any access to a body fat % machine? Because that will help you see that even if you are gaining a little weight, your body fat is going down. This is a struggle for us all! I went back up to 202 after I was so excited to be 198. But I got a personal trainer package from Bally's to kick my butt into gear for this month until I can get my much needed fill on Feb 22!!!

    I went to funk class tonight at Bally's - it was soooooo much fun, definitely a workout. A couple of girls there go to this other class at a different place - pole dancing! they want me to come, but I don't know...they said it's a total workout, and it's funny. We'll see.....

    You girls are doing awesome. I am planning on going to my Bally's funk class tomorrow evening, I hope it will be good. Wish I lived closer to you all so I could exercise with you...that would give me some motivation. Meanwhile, I'm thinking my brother will be my gym buddy (he's 16 and overweight) for awhile, matbe we can help eachother? I really don't want him to be in our boat, but he is over 300 pounds. Anyway, keep up the exercising, you all are doing great!

    UM, HELLO!? ME, MOI, CARRIE, HAS BROKEN THE 200 POUND BARRIER!!! Ok, how did that happen? Thank you protein train!!! I am now 198 and come hell or high water, there is no way I'm gaining back any weight, fill or no! Love ya guys, now I'm on my way to 150 - please help me!     Girl, I had a big old MARGARITA because school started again today, and boy am I gonna need it. I also ate some mozzarella sticks. Now, I don't know about you, but I have a feeling those 2 things are not included on the protein train....? But hey, sometimes life just happens, and then the tough need a drink. We'll be alright - tomorrow's another day and we'll be back on the wagon!

    Getting Closer

    I am so freaking excited for you! Yay, yay, yay! Optifast is just like a slimfast type deal, it'll be ok, even though obviously it's not real food. This is the beginning of a whole new life. I'm so glad you have this forum to experience everything and have a sounding board for your concerns, questions, whatever. I wish I had this earlier! Again, congratulations and you can do it!     I had a weird day today, I didn't want to eat anything. Maybe I am getting sick? All I wanted was fluids. Strange.
