    Protein?!

I currently take muscle milk. They have a version of 32g. Hubby found one with 50g from pure pro (link below). Doctor said anything was ok as long as it doesn't exceed 200 calories for me. He also suggested a Protein bullet, which I am drinking tonight because I need 40g more protein since I didn't eat a lot today. Got this bullet from Walmart. New whey liquid Protein, 42g, 3.8 oz and no sugar, gluten, carbs. http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/abb/purepro50.html

    Gas pains in left shoulder

I had some 1 week after surgery when I walked around Walmart. I was scared but thought it was the same pain from the hospital and the nurses said it was trapped gas.

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

Stay with it. The worse cheating I did was suck the flavoring off a Dorito chip. Lol. But I didn't eat it! I lost 25 with the liquid pre-op. It does get better but you have to plan and have your shakes and vitanins planned for the day. I discretely had two to three powder servings ready to mix at my desk at work. Noone noticed.

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

Update.....March 6th. I actually lost 25 pounds on the pre-op. It works if you stick with it!!!!! I am 1 week post-op and down 39 pounds.

Got told by a coworker today that I'm taking the "easy way"

You owe noone an explanation. I also have over 200 to lose. The pre-op diet was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I am 1 week post op and eating is a chore. So screw judgemental people and their thoughts. I wouldn't have explained anything to him. At that point I would have said, "Why do you ask?" Do not explain yourself to anyone at work. I don't plan to when I return in a month. If they dare ask, I will say the same thing. It's not a rude response but it is rude to ask someone about their health. How dare that guy approach you, ugh!

    Atlanta Gastric Bypassees?

I took my 5 shakes and drank lots of Water. I know I said before I fixed Vietmanese soup but found it tasteless without salt and adding salt made me retained water. So I drink lots of water (at least 100 oz) and have sugar free popcicles on hand in case I have a craving I just got through my first bag of Protein shake. Thank goodness because I am sick of that taste. It was chocolate from Bariatric Advantage. Now I'm taking their iced latte flavor and love it. Sometimes, I would add flavoring like caramel or vanilla to my shakes. When I cut out my Soups, I lost 6 pounds in water in 1 day.
  7. I saw a recipe for Korean fried chicken and managed to fix it for my kids last night. I had no setbacks and feel I can make it until the end. But.....I've been thinking about that chicken all day.

    Atlanta Gastric Bypassees?

Thanks everyone. It's not easy now. I'm 1/2 way through my liquid prepararion and have now lost 19 pounds. I am now having cravings but drink Water when that kicks in. I had my broth and ended up putting some hot sauce in it to give sooth my cheeseburger craving. 19 pounds lost so far.

    Hello, I'm new...LOL

Wow. Just wow. Thanks for the testimony. I love hearing about success stories.
  10. I'm new on here. In my pre-op phase and have my surgery date scheduled for 2/25/15. Just looking to connect with other newbies. I've lost 13 pounds so far on day 6 of my liquid liver shrinking diet. I have not cheated and have virtually no cravings or hunger pains like I have had with diets in the past. I'm excited about my new life and would love some pre and post op support and recipes. I current make Vietmanese Pho Soup from scratch and it satisfies my savory craving. I've barely touched my sugarfree popcicles intended for my sweet cravings. Starting W: 401 lbs Current W: 387 lbs Dr.'s Goal W: 178 lbs I just want to be: < 215

    Hello, I'm new...LOL

I am in the North Atlanta region and found a surgeon in the Gwinnett Medical Center location. I love him and have my surgery date scheduled on 2/25/15. I think it is important to do lots of research, buy success foods and plan for how I will take my shakes work discretely. My surgeon said I'm one of the few patients who actually read and research.....maybe a little too much as I even asked him how many patients have died on his watch and what type of Vitamins should I take now. Maybe I'm scared I will fail? I do not like suprises and do not want to go into things with my eyes shut. I started at 401. Now at day 6 of my pre-op, I am 13 pounds down and not hungry. I've fixed my children regular meals and not cheated once. I have craved an egg and cheese a couple of times but I'm holding strong. To me, this is easier than dieting because I HAVE to do do this. Mentally, I am forced to do this. So I guess I've tricked my mind into not having so many cravings. Also...I just think about how awesome it's going to be getting onto those 6 flags rides this summer without doubting if I am too big for them.

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

I had food funerals so I could eat my favorites before I began. Not to beat you up, but if you can break through this pre-op, than you can be successful post-op. I guess for me, I knew that at 401 pounds, I was at my heaviest in my life. Disgusting. Drink some broths for your savory craving, get some sugar free popsicles for your sweet cravings. Learn to make meals that are conducive to your taste buds. I got some extrants like caramel and hazelnut to put in my bariatric shakes. I fix Vietmanese Pho Soup and my spouse has decided to follow the same diet so I wouldn't do it alone. My kids and friends are motivated and supportive. My goal is 200 for now, docs say 178 but baby steps. I'm 13 pounds down now and really don't feel hungry and I was addicted to food when I started. We can do it. Today is a new day, start again, regardless of what happened yesterday. Get someone around you to hold you accountable for your diet. Leave your debit card at home if you are tempted to buy subway again. Go buy some success foods now. I made spaghetti and cornbread for my kids and was not tempted to eat any of it. Think about where you want to be in 10 years: -Dead -100 pounds heavier -100 smaller

    February

Feb 25th, surgery date. Cannot wait, I'm killing this pre-op on day 6 and 14 pounds down.
  14. I had food funerals/last meals before I started ao I wouldn't miss it. My spouse is doing the same diet with me so we can suffer together. He isn't having the surgery. It's helpful to know someone who has been through the same thing, I have 3 cousins that I text my progress to. They are very supportive also.

    Liver shrinking diet

I am on day 5, I do low sodium broths and made a Vietnamese Pho soup, get sugar free popcicles and lemon water. I actually do not have hunger pains. I figure it push comes to shove, I will eat something light, like and egg or something.
