  1. It's taken me 2 days to drink a Vitamin Water Zero. On my pre-op diet, I was drinking like 4 of them a day. I did manage to get almost an entire Protein shake in today. Currently I've been nursing a sugar free Jello for like 45 minutes. We've been snowed in the past 2 days, but tomorrow I need to get out of the house. I've been staying with my Mom and although I've been getting a lot of knitting done, I want to run some errands, take my cats to the vet and go to the post office. I haven't had any pain, which I'm so grateful for. I am longing to get back to my own apartment and sleep in my own bed. I think I'll shoot for Saturday for that.
  2. I got to go home yesterday! I'd been having terrible lingering gas pains and had been walking a lot, but it wasn't doing much. I also had extreme nausea and couldn't keep anything down. I'm not even sure what I was vomiting up at this point. But they let me go home and I had almost 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep and I feel a lot better this morning. I'm sipping slowly on a protein shake and looking forward to taking a shower in a little while. I was able to take my regular meds this morning with a small amount of water and they stayed down. Hoping that i'm on the other side of this now....
  3. My surgeon just stopped in and he thinks I can go home tomorrow. I'm definitely planning on walking around in a little while. It's shift change right now so it's a little chaotic out there.
  4. Had my surgery this morning at 7:30. I was out and in my room by 11:30am. Chest is a little tight from the anesthesia, but I'm doing that breathing thing they make you. I was just a little nauseated and the nurse gave me something for that, Was able to get up and use the bathroom. Got a look at my incisions and they are small. Very pleased with that. I'm feeling pretty good overall. Tired, but that's to be expected. WE CAN DO IT.
  5. Day 13 of my 14-day pre-op liquid diet. I cannot believe I've made it. I've gotten through 3 take out office lunches and yesterday there was a huge brunch spread. Today I picked up my post-op liquid tylenol w/codeine and pepcid. My surgery is Monday and I'm supposed to be at the hospital for 6am. I'm just....ready.

    2 Week Pre-Op Liquid Diet

Can you have other Clear liquids? I've been alternating with Water, Vitamin Water Zero and then sugar free Jello. I also have sugar free popsicles in the freezer at my office in case.
  7. I'm on day 4 of my pre-op liquid diet. It's been okay so far. My office, which has been nothing but supportive, has had a lot of tempting foods around this week, but I've just been drinking my Water and eating Jello. It's frigid here today, but I have sugar free popsicles in the freezer in case of emergency! LOL. On the plus side, I've lost approximately 10 pounds since starting the all liquids phase, so that's definitely motivating.
  8. How are my fellow March 3rd people doing with their liquid diets? I'm only on day 2 and it's been okay so far. My doctor says we can have non starchy veggies, so last night I had a big salad with dressing made with no oil. I'm actually having more trouble getting 3-5 Protein shakes in a day. Last night I had my 3rd shake for "dessert," just to make sure I hit my protein goal. Might be a little different today since I was out shoveling earlier....
  9. My first post here! My surgery is surgery is scheduled for March 2nd. I start my pre-op liquid diet tomorrow, but I've been easing myself into it this weekend. I'm just glad that clear broth is on the list because it's so freakin' cold here right now. Here to give and get all the support!
