    March Sleevers

Yes!!! I am struggling a great deal. I am a complete failure. I have gained back 40 of the 78 lbs. I lost. What makes the matter even worse is that this is my second weight loss surgery. I had Lapband in 2007. I was a failure with that. I had revision to the sleeve surgery in March 2015. The weight loss was slow and I never reached my goal with either. I need to see someone who specializes in food addiction, but am having a hard time finding someone. To be honest with you, I do not know what to do right now and am highly depressed.
  2. Well, what can I say. I had surgery a year ago on March 17th. I lost around 75 pounds and was very strict until the holiday season began in November. To make a long story short, I have gained 20 lbs. since then, and stopped exercising. I feel completely out of control and feel as if my mind is blocking me from getting back on track. Has anyone else had this experience? I really need some advice from those who have had the same or similar problem. Please help.

    March Sleevers

I had surgery on March 17th and have lost 30 lbs. It seems that I am losing much slower than on previous diets. I exercise 4 times/week and my caloric intake is around 900 - 1050 calories/day. I am a bit disappointed, but truly hope the weight loss will continue and maybe speed up a bit.

    pbfit?

I am two months post op and eat PBFit everyday as a night time snack. I add vanilla flavoring, a few packets of Splenda and 1 teaspoon of regular peanut butter (34 calories). Does anyone have thoughts on this?

    Anyone in Houston, TX

I live in Houston and am 5 weeks post op. I would love to communicate with other sleevers in Houston for support.

    Stall Panic

I am 4 weeks post-op and seem to be in a stall as well. Although my clothes are getting pretty loose on me, the scale is not moving much. I guess the only thing I can do is continue what I am doing. Hopefully, the stall will end and I will start seeing the scale move down.
  7. I was sleeved on March 17th. As of today, April 12th, I have only lost about 10 lbs. I am a male, and my weight on surgery day was 280. I am doing everything I am supposed to do. I am taking in about 95 grams of protein/day, I drink 64oz. of water with crystal light/day, and I exercise 30 minutes/day four days/week. My carbs are very low, and I am getting in about 800 calories/day. I weighed this morning after about 9 days, and almost threw the scale against the wall. I feel like s$#t right now because I am putting so much effort into this and am not seeing the results that most others are seeing. What am I doing wrong???

    Living below goal!

Absolutely incredible! You are so beautiful and look like a completely different person. I just completed my 3rd week post op and hope to be as successful as you.
  9. Ok. Last night I was putting something on the top shelf in my closet, when I felt a pain. I'm thinking that I might have stretched too much and pulled a muscle, but I am not sure. It is a dull pain, but it is noticeable. Any suggestions?
  10. I would like to know what others ate during the purée phase. I begin this phase in 2 more days. Has anyone eaten grits during this phase?

    Back to work blues...

I feel your pain. I was sleeved on March 17th and return to work on Monday. I also work in a school. I actually enjoyed my time off and dread my return. Fortunately, I only have two months before the end of the school year.
  12. Thanks. I will give it a few days. My guess is that it will stop. I probably just pulled a muscle that I have not used in a while.
  13. I just have one puree food phase that lasts one month. Then I start the regular solid food phase. Today was my first day on puree. I had a soft boiled egg, that was more like a runny egg. I will have refried beans for lunch. I don't see how I can get in all of my protein without continuing my protein shakes.
  14. When my band was in, I had horrible acid reflux, frequent vomiting, and my food would regularly get stuck. I would go in to have the band loosened, but then gain weight. I did lose about 80 lbs. on the band, but gained almost all of it back. Once I had the ban completely unfilled, I gained over 30 pounds in one month. It definitely did not work for me. I am two weeks post op and hope I have success with the sleeve.

1 week post op protein intake issue

I use Weight and Inches protein powder from Familybariatrics.com. It has 29g of protein and 200 calories. I add two tablespoons of PB3 to it, which adds 55 calories and 5g of additional protein. I drink two each day to get in 68g of protein. I have one day left on the liquid diet and begin purée food. Has anyone else used Family Bariatric?

    Pureed stage

I start my purée phase in 2 days. I wonder why there is no thread for recipes? You would think that there would be tons of recipes here.
  17. I was also de-banded and sleeved in one operation. I was in the hospital for two nights with no complications or issues. I will begin my puree food phase in three more days. I hope it continues to go well for me.
  18. I was banded in March 2007. I was de-banded and sleeved on March 17th 2015. The procedure took about an hour and a half and my recovery has gone well. I hope I am more successful with the sleeve than I was with the band.

    Stargate SG1 fans?

What???!!!! The third sequel? I was not aware there was a sequel to the original Stargate movie. I have read that they are going to do a remake of the original.

    Band to Sleeve

I am a band to sleever. I was banded in 2007. I am one week post op. They removed the band and sleeved me in one surgery. It took about 2 hours. I would also consider myself a slow loser. I need to lose about 100 lbs.

    African American vsgers!

There are not a lot of AA women on the forum, but I have never seen any AA men. I am beginning to feel like I am the only AA man who has had sleeve surgery. I was sleeved on March 17, 2015. So, am one week post op. My surgery was a revision from the lap band. I would love to know about success stories from other AA men.

    Gained weigh during surgery

Yes. I am 4 days post op and 10 pounds heavier than surgery day. I hope this is temporary, and the weight gain goes away quickly.
  23. I am 4 days post op and weigh 10 pounds more than I did on surgery day. How is this possible?!?!?! I am following the plan to the letter. I should be losing. Also, I have not had a bowel movement since before surgery. Should I be worried?

    Band to Sleeve in 2015

I had my band removed and the VSG done on Tuesday morning. I spent two nights in the hospital and came home yesterday. My biggest issue right now is the pain from gas. It seems to settle in my chest and it is almost unbearable, but it is diminishing. The pain in my abdomen is not too bad. I am strictly sticking to crystal light every 15 minutes, and begin the full liquid diet tomorrow. I will be happy to reach the solid food phase. Any advice for a newly sleeved person?

    Surgery is Wedesday!

My surgery is tomorrow morning. I am neither nervous, nor excited. I just want it to be over. This liquid diet is for the birds.
