Hey my name is Wendy. I live in Raleigh NC and was sleeved 2/5/15. After years of not being able to keep weigh off and then major back surgery in 2012 and all my weight came back plus some - I was guided towards WLS after nutrition classes and low calorie diets did not work. I suffer with major depression and Anxiety which works against joining a gym in most cases. I am a current member of the Rex Wellness Center which is tied to the hospital and there are way less stressors there so working out is so much easier. I am a Newbie and just started pureed food yesterday after my first post-op visit went well. I woke the second morning after surgery at home with an acute gout attack. Nothing new since I have suffered for years with gout. My Nut adjusted my protein intake down and water to 100oz until I could tolerate the return to Probeniecid (interacts with all antibiotics and most other medications). I was lucky to not need pain meds after surgery and only required liquid Tylenol for a low grade fever for a few days. I was more than happy to have the IV removed because like many others - it packed on the weight post-op - I gained 7lb of water water AFTER surgery but I lost it with a day up walking. I have enjoyed this site pre-op and read a lot before surgery but never had the guts to sign up to share my struggles and journey. I am well on my way and I look forward to helping others now if I can and continuing to read and learn from all the members. I started at 236 and today I am down to 205.
