Hello:I am now 3 days post op with a sleeve gastrectomy. So far it isn't as hard as I imagined. In March of 2014 my primary care provider suggested I contact a weight loss surgery center. I was weighing 290# and my joints (hip and knees) were giving out. It took 7 months from my initial consult to qualify by my insurance rules. Also my hip just kept getting worse even though I was following my surgeon's diet and getting great support from Weight Watchers. As of surgery day I had lost 52#! That was without exercise, using my walker and getting a total hip replacement 10 weeks ago. I feel so hopeful for my future and I have much to be thankful for. Just found BariatricPal while reading about SG online. Looking forward to sharing a great journey full of opportunities to enjoy my new life.
