Just keep at it! A weight loss stall is normal around 3 weeks. Make sure you are getting at least 64 ounces of water in every day. It is important to keep you kidneys healthy with all the protein you are taking in and is important to help with weight loss. I have to sip water constantly throughout the day to get it in and in the first week after surgery I actually set the alarm on my phone to go off every 5 minutes to remind myself to sip something. Maybe try journaling every day to help with your emotions and to help remember why you did this. Your lifelong health benefits by having this done and losing weight are priceless! I hope things are better for you this week. -

I also had my surgery on the 9th, I stalled last week too for a few days so I stopped weighing myself every day - only once a week now and I am losing steadily every week. My total weight loss is 36 lbs, 19 lbs since surgery (as of last Friday!) Which means I am averaging a pound a day! Also - make sure you are drinking at least 64 ounces of water every day - that is important for weight loss and will help keep you feeling full. -
Can I use a post op diet to use weight without surgery

My pre-op diet was a 10 day liquid only diet, my daily intake: 3 Protein shakes, broth, herbal tea, water flavored with lemon & mint leaves, 1 Jello if I needed something extra. My daily protein intake was 90-100 grams and my daily calorie intake was around 500/day. I lost 17.5 pounds in 10 days. After the first 2-3 days I felt great and rarely felt hungry. While I do not recommend doing this long-term, you could do a 7-10 day liquid diet to jump start your new lifestyle and then opt for a low carb, high protein clean diet (lean & green), such as Paleo, South Beach, Atkins. In the meantime, pick up some insurance through the Affordable Healthcare Act and maybe you can have surgery later this year or early next year. Good luck with whatever you decide to do - losing weight is not easy no matter which road you take! -
It is your choice if you want to share it with others or not and you have nothing to be embarrassed about. You are making a positive life choice! I was conflicted before my surgery and in the end decided to share it with friends. I have received nothing but support and encouragement. I am glad I decided to share it, but it is your private business - it is ok either way as long as you are comfortable with your decision and you should be proud of yourself for having the courage to do something positive for your health. Good luck! As for the broth - I wouldn't drink more than 1 cup because it usually has a lot of sodium.
