Slight pain after every time food reaches the stomach
sarahbeth3569 replied to Cujucuyo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had my surgery one week ago, ive only tried to drink Chrystal lite once, water, and Isopure but as soon as it trickles down to my stomach I would get this "contraction" then it would release followed by a fizzy bubbly pop rocks sound and a big bubble....then it would be done. I ended up in ER yesterday dehydrated from the annoying little pain with every sip and the doc ran tests and barium swallow and everything is normal. Just remember everyone heals differently. I actually didnt experience it too much today so maybe its healing better! -
I'm sure this question has been asked a million times but I was wondering how well the Colace went down the first time you took it? I had to stay an extra day due to not being able to keep things down so Im cringing from the thought of taking a gellcap. Did it go down smoothly?

Is this an all in one squeeze packet? Or is the biotin separate?

Surgery Today :)))
sarahbeth3569 replied to sarahbeth3569's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone for your best regards. Im doing great! I ended up staying 3 days in the hospital because I was a little too nauseous to get anything in. But that was just from the anesthesia. Were in a recovery hotel and ive been walking alot since surgery. I took a shower today and it felt great. I cant get over how not hungry I am. Its amazing. I still would like to eat something unhealthy but im not constantly thinking about it. No gas pains in shoulders but definitely in my tummy. Im so happy that I did it! -
Mar 3 surgery date!
sarahbeth3569 replied to highdesertblue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dont mean to snoop but it seems that you should definitely call tommorow and ask why your surgery was canceled....the real reason! And if they say" because he will be gone "you say but my friends surgery is now at that exact same time with the same doc. -
Pre-Op Liquid Diet -- SO hungry!
sarahbeth3569 replied to Carlye's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's very hard! And you will actually feel like you're starving for the first 3 days or so. Get all different kinds of sugar free jellos and Popsicles. Those help! And the shakes curbed my appetite a lot too. I had to stay busy doing whatever I could to keep my mind off of food. I went to bed early every night. I took some pictures of myself naked and looked at them every time I felt I was gonna cheat. :/ TMI but it helps!! I felt angry and down the whole time and that is normal. The 2nd week is a downhill slide with much more ease! I'm 14 hours away from being sleeved! And I thought I'd never make it! You can do it! -

Mar 3 surgery date!
sarahbeth3569 replied to highdesertblue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ahhh!!! I can't believe it's almost here! Tommorow!! I'm so nervous. Doesn't help I just kissed my 3 year old bye bye for the next 2 days. I've never been away from him and he was very sad ... But everyone is in my thoughts and prayers! Keep us updated if you can. We got this! It's almost time for our lives to change for the best! -
Signing off till after my surgery
sarahbeth3569 replied to kyrickchick64's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good luck to both of yal!!! So exciting! We will be watching for your updates my prayers are with you for a successful surgery! Yal got this! -
I've been going through the process for gastric sleeve a year now. And it hasn't been easy. I constantly fret and would have such anxiety over my next appointment. I even felt like maybe they were trying to wait the weaker people out by letting them wait months for different appointments I needed done for this surgery. But I'll tell you this.....it seemed like my surgery date would NEVER get here...or that I'd never have surgery and I'd always be that fat girl, the fat mom on the soccer field, the fat TWIN sister (yes it's horrible) , the fat friend for the rest of my life, but I kept on going and kept as much faith as I could. If you believe in prayer PRAY about it!! I did, and it was like God just cleared the way for me and I am 2 days away from surgery!! tWO Days!! It seemed like it would never get here and now I'm so anxious and actually unprepared because time is flying too fast. Just don't give up. There will be hurdles and even more after surgery. But there's an answer for every bump in the road! If you're denied, research until your eye balls fall out! Just don't give up!

Pre-op isn't easy....
sarahbeth3569 replied to Riz2006's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
String cheese definitely helped me. I was allowed one a day in between breakfast and lunch. I ate that string cheese like it owed me money!!!!! I'm getting sleeved at 5:45 AM on Tuesday. And today I could not eat or drink because I'm so nervous I actually cannot eat. Like I'm getting terrified actually. Even when I drink some water I think about the surgery and it doesn't go down easy. ...anyone else nervous? -

Pre-op isn't easy....
sarahbeth3569 replied to Riz2006's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow 3 weeks is a long time for strictly liquids. Mine is 2 weeks so I have 3 more days til I'm sleeved. Seriously last week I thought I wouldn't make it. I went a little crazy and had some emotional outbursts. I realized how in love with food I was. Like I couldn't go one single minute without thinking food food food. I'm glad I kept going and you will be too. I've found that stopping at gas stations to get different protein shakes helped me (almost like how I used to stop at fast food places) ...anywho...just keep pushing yourself and go to bed early...it will be worth it this summer -
Thanks so much for the update! I love seeing posts of newly sleeved people! Good luck and prayers for your healing...and keep us updated. I'm getting sleeved in 80 hours lol...so it's nice to hear how you're doing right after surgery. So how bad was walking? I hope to walk as much as possible but fear for the tenderness.
-
Wow! I wonder why they decided to put you on one? Preop diet sucks but I hope everyone is doing well with theirs I've found that stopping at gas stations for different protein shakes is helping me. Almost like stopping at a fast food place to eat? Kind of? I had my official preop today. 80 hours til surgery! Ahh...I just panicked saying that lol!

I'm 6 days away! I'm getting really nervous as well. When people ask me "are you excited about your surgery"... I'm having trouble spittin out a "yes". Trying to stay positive and I'm about to download a book I was told would help me stay positive. I just never thought the time would come an now it's here! I cant wait to lose weight! Good luck to everyone!

Husband is so negative about my Weight Loss Surgery :(
sarahbeth3569 replied to Totoro's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My husband is "supportive" but he's been making comments like " you're going to leave me once u get skinny" or As of lately trying to show me more sexual attention than he has in a Long time and I say all of this because I think that he thinks that we stay together because we've gotten so comfortable with each other. I've gained a lot since we've gotten married and that's almost like a guarantee for him that I'll always stay. Now like my husband, your husband is realizing that "guarantee" is going to be lifted soon....and acting out in jealousy. He's worried about the attention you may receive or that you may not look at him like you once did when you were heavier. Stay strong and do this for you! -
First Day of PreOp Diet Done
sarahbeth3569 replied to uni2424's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah 4 shakes is a lot to get down. However it's awesome you get chicken or fish even just a taste ! Just keep trying. Keep what you can have at the front of the fridge...so when you open it that's the first thing you see. I've literally lost it on everyone from hunger and I'm staying away from people including family as much as possible. They were eating BALLPARK NACHOS right in front of me yesterday while I drank broth! :/ but it's the same family I want to be canoeing with and fitting in a kayak come summertime! So I'm gonna keep going! -
First Day of PreOp Diet Done
sarahbeth3569 replied to uni2424's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So from this day on you have to get back up and do it! You can succeed! Do anything you have to do to keep yourself from eating what your not allowed. I've been taking pictures of my self naked on my phone an every time I go to open that fridge or pass by my favorite foods I just look at that picture and ask myself "do u wanna look like THAT EVER AGAIN"??? Lol And I don't give into the temptation. Now you said you can have 1,000 calories a day? And your food choices from your doctor were protein shakes, veggies, & broth is that correct? Did he mention jello or Popsicles? -
March 3rd is the Day! Finally!
sarahbeth3569 replied to sarahbeth3569's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't feel exactly loopy but I'm having some serious brain fog I guess. I am SO hungry. I was super pumped about being ready and not hungry on the liquid diet. Everyone said "you're fine by day 4"...but Ever since I hit day 4 I actually feel like im starving, full of anxiety from hunger, and can't focus . My poor hubs is ready to sell me to the highest bidder. I've cried a million times. I'm a happy person but I've been such a witch. Anyone else feel a little down? -
Has any of you had a yeast infection before surgery? Mine is in 12 days and I'm considering taking one of my Diflucans just in case it is. Had anyone's dr not recommended Diflucan before surgery? Longshot I know but my doc is gone for a bit and I need to start this now for it to be done by surgery
-
I kept them through pregnancy also and anytime I take antibiotics I get them as well. It could just be my body is off from a huge change of the liquid diet? I took the diflucan today after pondering for like 24 hrs. I figured it would be better to try and treat it pre-op then go into surgery with a yeast infection. :/

sarahbeth3569 replied to uni2424's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@healthygirlonline : Yeah I understand your longing for coffee! Oddly enough I just want some stinking scrambled eggs. And I never eat them lol. @@Madmax68 : Hey at least you can eat all you want in your dreams like peterpan style and get full!
