Has anyone tried Orange theory fitness?
OneDollarBill replied to moniq22's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I've done it and it's and ass kicker, but in a good way. No worries about keeping up. Everything is salable to your fitness level. As someone else mentioned it is rather expensive for an unlimited pass, but they do offer other options. The prices seem to vary on where you live. Give it a shot. They do have a free trial class -
I can drink A LOT of beer as well. I still have to pour it off into a glass though.

drink.... j/k

This made me LOL On a side note I am 4 years post and drink Coke Zero now and then. I still have to pour it over ice to kill off some of the carbonation.

I've posted this is a long past compression shirt topic. Here is what I said in that post. I personally like the "Under Armour Men's Tactical HeatGear® Compression Short Sleeve T-Shirt". The reason I like this version of their shirt is they do NOT have the big UA logo near the neckline. This way i can wear them with polos or white dress shirts and not have to worry about the logo showing through. Here is the link on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004DU56FM Also I have found Starter brand ones at Walmart. However I will say they run a little bigger than the UA ones. If I am wearing a Large in the UA I will get the same feel in a Medium in a Starter brand. The Starter ones are pretty inexpensive as well.

What's for lunch today?
OneDollarBill replied to Creekimp13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I like them a lot. I replicated the Starbucks egg white ones with the peppers. The texture is not as firm but close. At least with making my own I can mix up ingredients to suit my cravings. -

Welcome. I do use that "baby food freezer storage tray" to make them in like the site mentions. -

Here is the recipe I have been using. https://foodieandwine.com/starbucks-sous-vide-egg-bites-instant-pot/ -
It's that time of month when this topic come up again. Hold on let me get my pop corn That being said. Yes I drink it. Maybe 1 or 2 cans a week. I do not drink it straight from the can. I always pour over ice. Yes I also enjoy the occasional beer. Again I drink it from a glass (which is the proper way anyways). I'm not going to get into the Dr. discussion. I have talked to him about it.

Inverted Gastric Sleeve
OneDollarBill replied to Muttmommie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
<--- Dr Owen's patient and yes he was credited for development of the "Inverted Corner Gastric Sleeve" back in 2012. The "Inverted Corner Gastric Sleeve" technique was developed by Dr. Owens specifically to prevent leaks and minimize heartburn. The technique is pretty common now. -
Yup it happened to me as well. I have a desk job and I would have to get up and walk around every hour. Luckily we got new sit/stand desks so it made life easier. Then out of no where it stopped and I haven't experienced any discomfort in a long time now.

Diet Snapple Half & Half is one of my favorites. I drank that and a lot of Vitamin Water Zero with Benefiber added to it in the beginning and through goal. Come to think I haven't had a Snapple in a while. I guess I will add that to my grocery list this week.

Panniculectomy?
OneDollarBill replied to prettysfitjourney's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Yeah that seems pretty soon. I just had both Panniculectomy with add-on Abdominalplasty on December 11th. I am 2 years and 9 months post on my sleeve. -
This is the first day in a long time I have felt something close to "normal" since having undergoing Panniculectomy and Abdominoplasty 18 days ago. Hopefully I have hit my turning point.

It's a tough surgery. I had a circumferential lift done in July and I just now feel *completely* healed. Hang in there, the results down the road are amazing! My scars are fading nicely, things are finally healed on all the incisions...the only thing that's not mostly normal is some numbness between my belly button and the incision.

I am currently 16 days post. I would like to say all has been well, but that’s not the case. The first week I was feeling pretty good. Then I started getting pain tummy area above the incision were the majority of the swelling was located. Dr checked for fluid (via needle) and didn’t locate any. He equated the pain to the swelling going down and nerves firing back up. This went on a couple days and my right side swelling is all but gone, but the left still hurt. Fast forward to Christmas Eve (Sunday) and I was hurting a little more. I was also getting the chills. Christmas Day I was pretty run down and tired. When I showered that afternoon before heading over to the in-laws I noticed my left side was pretty pink and I knew something was up. Luckily I has a follow up first thing Tuesday morning. The Dr again checked for fluid and this time found some. The fluid was clear which is a good sign as a full blown infection hadn’t took place. However it would have gone untreated. I got in intravenous antibiotic shot and a Rx for more antibiotics. Its been a little more than 24 since the shot and I already feel much better. The area is less pink and some of the swelling has gone. I have another follow up appointment tomorrow morning. On a positive note the “boob” job turned out really well and no issues other than the swelling which is still present and image will be for some time still

Plastics or no plastics ?

I stopped taking the prescription pain meds after 4 days and switched to Advil. Yes, ouch yes I had phlegm as well due to the anesthesia. I just tried to do these long throat clearing coughs to minimize the pressure. I thing sneezing was worse though. Hope you are holding up well otherwise. -

I want to say the first week I did sleep in and off a lot. I equate it to the anesthesia working it’s way out and the pain meds. I tried to get up every hour I was awake and walk around. Sometimes that meant pacing the living room. Going back to the topic of pain this second week has been worse than the first. I had been getting serious pain in my lower left and right stomach area above the incision. My surgeon said it was the swelling going down and the nerves firing back up. This went on for the last two days. Today it feels better. Just be prepared for that. Oh and the binder is starting to annoy the crap out of me. Christmas will mark the two week mark of surgery. I have another follow up on Tuesday. Hopefully of all goes well I can ditch it pretty soon. -
my friends as well. Before I ventured back to regular wings I would order the naked tenders from BWW. They will give you all the same sauce choices but on the side. It’s a really good option as well.
-
I have. I can’t recall when but it was probably sometime after the first year and a half. Even so I can only have a max of 4 or 5 BWW sized wings.

My daily activity the last week had been very limited. I think I spent the first couple days sleeping on and off. You won’t be able to and the surgeon won’t want you to stand up straight. You have to walk bent over. This actually hurts because now gravity is pulling on this new stomach and my lower back hurts a little bit for having to walk hunched over for a few days. Yesterday was the first day I actually ventured out the house on my own and first day I was cleared to drive. Driving was a little uncomfortable just had adjust my seat a little bit more so I wasn’t sitting straight up-and-down. The only chore I did was running to the grocery store which actually wiped me out. When I got home I was pretty tired after that. Eating is OK now. But the first few days all I can really do is drink protein shakes. It was kind of interesting that I felt like I didn’t have the room or the capacity to eat. Almost like those first days having the sleeve. I don’t know if it was just because I didn’t have an appetite because of the surgery or other circumstances. I can’t speak to the drains. I do not have any drains. My surgeon used a technique with something called body glue. This eliminates the necessity to have drains. It was an extra cost out of my pocket but supposedly helps speed up recovery time and eliminated the need for me to have drains. I had never heard of it before but glad I went with that option. -

Hey there. It been officially a week since my surgery. I have had two follow up appointments with my surgeon since. I came home the same day. I was ok with this as I tend to get restless with all the stuff they typically have connected to you. The procedure was just over 4 hours. That also includes the chest stuff. Here is what I have learned 1. Stay on top of your meds. I made sure I took my pain pill every four hours. I did get off the pain meds by Thursday morning. 2. Take colace as the narcotics are doing to back you up. 3. Coughing and sneezing will hurt like hell. 4. Sleeping has been a challenge. You have to sleep in a recliner. As of Sunday night I was officially allowed to lay on my back. While this was great it added a whole other level of sensations and aches. Now on my back I’m stretching the ab muscles out along with everything else 5. I’ve been having trouble sleeping and getting comfortable. Between the binder they have me in and the tightness from the abdominoplasty it feels like I have someone sitting on me. I actually bought some melatonin to try tonight in desperation for a good nights rest. Despite these things I feel great. Although I have to remind myself to take it easy and not over do things. I do have swelling as does everyone. My surgeon stated the swelling will hit its peak on day 7 and then should slowly reduce. -
Oh and the 10 lb is technically only from 2 surgeries. There wasn’t much brest tissue that needed to be taken off. The Panny is the tummy tuck and the Abdominoplasty is the sewing of the Abdominal muscles back together.
