All good now. Took forever for that bugger to close. Finally just let the air get to it and that helped close it.

Hi apaige203 I was banded since 2003. Such a long time. My inflammation has gone down a lot in my hands at least. I have not had any blood work post op but i go early in august. I also get those fevers with lupus after i over do myself. Although i havent had ine in a long time since ive been on meds. I still have joint pain after surgery but i have hope it will slowly get better. I still dont have much stamina but it will get better doc says. Ohhh that is not enough time!! You need at least 2 weeks recovery. I took 3 and was greatful i did. This is major surgery. The same as if you had a kidney removed or something. Please take time to recover. You need that sleep! I have to run but will talk again soon.

11 days away - anxious/nervous/scared

Karencaper you are such an inspiration! Im sitting here almost in tears today because my weight isnt dropping. Been the same weight for 5 days. Ive not been good about a few things. You are right. You need courage and passion. Thanks for setting me straight. -
Wow! It is like we are twins. I had everything you have had except the spleen. Its been 4 weeks since my band removal and revision to bypass. The weirdest thing is that my inflammation in my hands is almost gone. My reflux is gone as well thank God. The surgery wasnt bad at all. Its really a week of uncomfortableness. My pain level never over a level 4. Im working my new pouch. There is restriction. I dont have much stamina. That should come back in a few weeks. I have lost 33 pounds so im thrilled. I was off of work 3 weeks. I really cant wait to do my blood work again and see where i stand with my lupus and RA. Good luck and you are going to feel so much better soon

This is going to be so wonderful for you. My advice is just follow what your doc says. Also the limit on sex part is because you will have all these incisions inside you healing. This surgery is major. They also limit you to picking up anything heavier than a gallon of milk for 4 weeks. Worst thing you could do is pull those stuches and have to go back into surgery. Maybe 6 weeks is a bit long but people heal at different rates. Anyways trust me sex will not be on your mind for awhile. Also the drain does suck. Its so gross. But its just for a week and easy to change yourself. But in my opinion the worst part of the whole ordeal. Dont be dumb like me and put your hand on the tubing as your trying to get up. Ouch!! Really though this surgery was made for you. Please keep posting. It will be exciting to hear from you when you get on that roller coaster. -
July 10th GB & SO sick of clear liquids!

I think it makes it so much worse that we cant do much at this stage. Just lay there on the couch healing and watching those damn food commercials. Ugh. I suggest keeping as busy as possible. This is more a mind game then anything else. Have to just decide food is not important anymore. I know its hard. Im 3 weeks out. Im there with you. -

Get used to not chewing. It goes a long way post-op. I would kill for a salad. Im almost 4 weeks out. Nothing solid till 8 weeks. But hey 33 pounds down. Its not all bad -
31 pounds down. Although i have days where i dont lose anything. Not sure how that is possible with eating so little. Im healed up pretty well. My stamina sucks though. Im sure all in time. Thanks for asking about me.

I had my revision to bypass June 23. Im having no issues recovering. The thing is im having issues losing all of a sudden. Lost 25 then ive stopped last 5 days. I dont get it. Im tracking everything. So frustrated. -
I had the nurse take a look at mine. I have a small infection that will go away on its own. I shouldnt worry i guess. Just wish it would close up already

I have like no inflammation now that my band is out. So weird. I cant wait to have blood work done to see what the difference is. I havent taken any meds for my lupus or RA since i had my band out. So happy i had it removed
-
Im not too scared yet. Probably because ive been through many surgeries. I just want to get this over with. Get this band out of me finally and hoping to have real control again over food and expecially sugar. I dont want to fail this time See you all on the other side

Drain didnt hurt much. The stiches hurt more because they were red and angry. They would get stuck. Yeah glad thats over. It still wasnt that bad though -

Im one week and one day from surgery. Although i had the revision surgery from band to bypass so mine was more than urs will be. Honestly on a scale of 1 to 10 the worst it got was 4. I was really surprised actually. The most pain i had was when i acidentally caught my drain tubing and it came out a little. Thank God it is gone today. 22 pounds down so far -

On the other side. Relieved that its over. I was in the hospital for 2 nights. I hate this drain. Its gross. But i know its short term. Surgery took 1.5 hours. There was no problem taking out the band. I have had no nausea issues. I hated the really strong pain meds. The world was spinning. Anyways it wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be. I hope everything goes as planned here on out. Good luck to all those with upcoming surgeries.
