???????????? Fustration????????????

Im on the same boat. How is it possible with 700 calories that i dont lose. Heck one day i gained a pound. Honestly wonder if this malabsorption of calories is real. Sigh. Sooooo frustrated too. No way im gonna meet my doctors goal for me this way. -
Its still sliding right through really. Just stick to the pirtion size they say like 1/2 cup size. When you get to solud foods you will feel it nore. If you had a band before this it is even weirder because restriction will feel different now. You will be fine. Just take it slow. Also you wont be truely hungry for months. Enjoy this time. I know i am.

What was your hardest part of surgery?
Dibaby44 replied to Tha_Payne's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
For me it was dealing with the drain for a week after surgery. Hated that thing! -
Im kinda scared. I havent eaten in 5 days or i get sick. Even on yogurt. I have called the doc and tomorrow Im having an EGD i think its called. Its where they scope you and open up your stomach with a balloon. I guess i have a stoma stenosis. I am 5 weeks out. I am just scared it is going to hurt. Anyone else have this done? Apparently i will be in twilight sleep for it. I wish they would just knock me out. I mean im losing a pound or two a day...but this is crazy. 49 pounds down.

Barret's and the sleeve
Dibaby44 replied to Miranda2.0's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I wouldnt do sleeve with having GERD. I had GERD pre-surgery with having the lap-band. I was told bypass is my only option. Which was fine by me. Having GERD is no way to live. Once I had my bypass it has been gone for good. Good luck with your decision. -

It really was an easy procedure. So happy to finally be eating again. But i do miss the scale dropping fast. Now my metabolism is horrible until it gets used to food again. I know. It will all be okay. -
Hi apaige203! So glad to here you got it out. The first week is miserable but once u get that drain out it gets much better. Those pains really arent phantom. Everything is healing up and you still have restriction. Its just a different kind if restriction. At least it is for me. I cant believe ur even thinking of working. You need to heal and rest. Besides that pain medication makes you loupy. Anyways i hope it inproves for you soon. Take care

Thank you soooo much! I feel so much better. -
Gratz on the date. You are going to be fine. The actually surgery part is the easy step really. So dont worry about that. Just get your mind set up mentally that you are going to do whatever it takes to get to goal. Good luck on your journey.

Welcome to the forums. You might want to check the thread that talks about locations. Hope you find someone

What helped me get through the diet was knowing that it was shrinking my liver so that surgery will be easier. I just kept on picturing myself on the operating table. My doc said he can always tell when he gets inside someone if they followed the diet or not. I hope this helps. I know it sucks...hugs

I know this is crazy but if you are going for insurance approval you might have to be a certain BMI to qualify. I know its ridiculous. Just make sure you find out everything with your insurance.

This drives me nuts and I have run into it with my own boyfriend even (long story) anyways what works everytime is to say....."What difference does it make how a person losses weight...the important thing is that they got to their goal and they are now healthy" that usually shuts them up. It's so frustrating that these people bitch about obese people all the time then these same people bitch when they actually do something to get the weight off...I hate society ugh

Some days I can't eat what I did already
Dibaby44 replied to ButterflyRainbow's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Butterflyrainbow make sure you are not getting a stoma stenosis. I am dealing with it right now. I was the same way slowly my intake of food was, less and less. Now im down to only the shakes and even that i can get sick on. Im waiting for the surgeon to get back from vacation so i can have a procedure to open me up again. I mean its great to lose 1 or 2 pounds a day but this is sooo unhealthy. -
Remember guys muscles and nerves have to come back together. They will awaken and start hurting for a few weeks. Our bodies are amazing how they heal.
