Hey I was just wondering if I was the only one here from quebec with a lapband. I am 18 and had the procedure on Mon Nov 26 2007. message me for any questions thx

well it cost me 5000$, that just to pay for the band. My insurance cover's it so really..it didn't cost a penny..lol but im in canada..I know in the state's it's not the same.

Heya that's really gotta be hard.I know I wouldn't want to be on liquid's 6 weeks total. I was banded on the 26th on Nov. And today is the 5th of December. 2 hours after my surgery I walked out of the hospital. I was on liquids for about 2 days or so and after that I started eating soup and other mushy stuff. 1 Day later I started eating cereal, vegetables, pancakes, chicken. and for the past 5-6 days i've been eating everything I was eating before my operation. I know it's not good but the Pizza..is just so lovely lol. Anywho I'm going to get a fill in a few weeks so no worries. I've lost 30 pounds as of december 4th. hey kathie...it's sucks that you have to be hungry..and still drink shakes. I got my band on the 26th and now its Dec 5th and I started eating 7 days ago. I can eat pizza, pasta , Bread and pretty much anything really. And I went back to sleeping normally like the secound day after my surgery. I geuss were all diff, just glad to be me lol

I swear you remind me of my mom lol. (it's a good thing lol) Let's pray you will have better days to come hehehe :confused:

Heya glad that you are getting the band :girl_hug: well my doctor put me on slimfast for 10 days before my operation. He told me this is to reduce the size of the live by 2/3 so the operation can go smoothly without complications. If you do not follow this then the doctor can stop the operation if he sees that the liver isn't reduced enough. So not only are you not going to have the band if your liver isn't small enough, but you will have scars and be in pain. So all this to say...really stick to slim fast , about 1000 calories a day which is like 4 slim-fast's. hope this helps ( if you must you can cheat sometimes but you might regret it)

I've had my Band since Monday November 26th. Everything has been alright so far but the only thing I do worry about is laughing...yes..laughing. I am a person that laugh's alot and lately my relative's seem to think it's funny to make me laugh and nearly stop breathing everytime which isn't real fun for me. To make you guy's understand , basically it's like the feeling of when you have done like 50 cruches and get that aching feeling inside. I am scared that it might SLIP or BREAK somehow and I get soooo nervous after having laughed alot at anything, sorry if you think it's silly but i'm really serious on this matter. Thanks. :girl_hug:

Hey umm honestly I sometimes forget to eat, and if you knew me in real life you still wouldn't believe it. And another HUGE thing i've noticed is that I ENJOY eating. I used to gobble everything down and finish an entire plate of spaggetti in 1:30 sec flat ( timed it ) and okay so ya that was wierd lol haaha...but its true and they werent your'e average plate size either. Anyways..what I was saying is that...although i've been eating lots and lots all my life..i've only STARTED tasting the food and it is GREAT. ..so every time you take a bite of something try to clear your mind for a second..and savor the delicious flavors that come from all the food on this earth. I still havent gotten to solid food's yet..and i'm excited at the idea of having these OLD yet brand new tastes in my mouth. lol anywho..hope this gives you a new perspective on things cya :girl_hug::)

lol are you kidding, you guys worry about digital scales and i CANT even get one that can register my WEIGHT lol. ugh..i've checked many places and have yet to find one. The one I have at home stops at 300 , Although im gonna be 300 pounds soon enough, I got my lapband on mon nov 26 so im not worried about it anymore. I'm going to see Dr.Miller on tuesday for a weigh in as well as getting the staples on my stomach removed (I think) :girl_hug:

Honestly i've been to afraid to try so I could'nt possibly tell you. I might try drinking soda in a few weeks but I just had my operation on Mon. Nov 26th. (I love my pain killers)

I was banded on the 26th also and I feel pretty good today.The best thing so far is that i'm never really hungry. I've had lots of gas though which is kind of freaky lol. But anywho hope your feeling great.

Hey everyone! Well I've only been on these forums 2 days, yet I still have not seen anyone who has the band of has had the band put in at 18. I got it Nov 26 2007. It's been a few days and i am doing well. I sorta feel left out to be the only one at 18 years old who has the band and yet at the same time lucky. My starting weight is 340 lbs. I was on a 10 day slim fast diet before the surgery and it's now been 4 days since the surgery and im not entirely sure how much i've lost.Next Tuesday im going to my doctor to get the straples removed and will weigh myself also. I'll be setting up my ticker soon and everything else so bye for now!

Hey there congrats on getting banded. I got banded on the 26 and have the same minor pains when I switch positions or get up. I hope to talk to you some time I am 18 and so far..I have yet to see anyone my age with the band lol. Ok well bye bye :car:

Hey there, just wanted to tell you I got my Operation in Drummondville which is about 45 minutes to 1hour from Montreal. I was operated Monday Nov 26 and it's now thursday.Tommorow will be day 5 and I feel pretty good. I noticed you were 23 so your one of the youngest people that had this operation. I am fortunate to have gotten it at the age of 18!! alright well bye for now and hope to talk to you
