It was the ultrasound and an xray. Both showed the polyps, but the ultrasound showed the "sludge" (dr's term, not mine - LOL). AND they were the results that were giving to the ER dr and all he could say is hey, you don't have gall stones, no duh - I already knew that, but I also knew something was wrong. Good luck, hope they are able to determine what is going on more quickly for you.

Oh meant to say, good luck with your sugery on Monday.

small bites for me were about what I would cut up for my 2 yr old - very small.

I am also hypo and I haven't had a problem at all since banding, EXCEPT when I had an issue a couple of weeks ago with my band being too tight. I couldn't keep anything down, so I was constantly lightheaded, passed out twice. Once I had a small unfill, presto, no more problems. So the Protein definitely helps. leenerbups - I have actually passed out at work - how embarresing is that! They called an ambulance and made me go to the hospital - no fun at all.

Insurance Trouble--thinking of Selfpay
juliek replied to yella1021's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Nutritionist was a requirement for my insurance. It is no big deal to go see one costs between $75 to $150 ish and get the letter. You will spend about an hour with the nutritionist. I know the one that I went to had some great information, so I considered it money well spent. -
My pain comes and goes and it is a burning type pain. Burning pain sometimes indicates a problem with acids. Do you take a regular acid controller like pepcid ac? That may help.

Actually, it is only easy to diagonise your gall bladder if you have gall stones. I have been having problems with my gall bladder for over a year, however, I don't have gall stones. what type of pain is it? sharp, burning? I would definitely have both the gall bladder and the band checked out. Good luck.

Excellent!!!!!!!

My hubby could not have been more supportive. He constantly surprises me. He probably did more research than I did. A couple of weeks ago, when I have having problems b/c the band was too tight, he was the one pushing me to the dr. I now actually weigh less than he has ever seen me (was 294 when we got married). He has seen me struggle our entire married life and only wants me to be healthy. As far as being worried about the surgery goes, I had major spinal surgery 2 years ago and came thru just fine, this seemed like small potatoes in comparison

great information, thanks! I will mix it up some more!

I just had to jump in and so OMG I had the exact same experience last week. Only I did jump up and tell one of my co-workers (she has been a big support for me) Way to go!

I think for losing weight you need more of a cardio type workout then weights. I do walking and/or biking every other day and that seems to help alot.
-
WOW, you are totally amazing! What a fantastic job you did with the weight loss. Good luck with your plastic surgery, sure hope the insurance pays for it for you.

I had a colonoscopy last year and they did twilight sedation - didn't feel a thing! I know someone who did the drnatura thing and she said it did a good cleanse without the alien looking bm's.

My doc did not fix my hiatal hernia and...
juliek replied to Sunta's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congrats on your surgery and welcome to bandland! Not the same, but I had a small hernia that my doc did fix but said it may not stay fixed b/c of the size, so maybe it is better your doc left it. sorry I can't offer more than that. Good luck! -
CONGRATULATIONS!!! The first few days are uncomfortable. Best of luck in your journey and with your wedding.

Same here - they put a pad between your legs - nothing like being 10 shades of red, but they are used to it and no way was I changing my surgery date!
-
OMG - our sisters must be evil twins! I do the same thing. Wrong, I know, mean, probably, but man it feels soooo good!
-
wow, thanks for the info, I did not know that!

I am not really good at keeping something like this a secret so I just came out and told all my immediate co-workers and was pretty much shocked at how supportive they were. While it is true it is nobodies business but my own, I like all the support I get. I work with a bunch of techno-geeks and they had a lot of questions about the mechanics of the surgery and band, but none about me personally making that decision. Even more shocking for me was the support I have received from my boss. He is anything but supportive and gave me such grief over spinal surgery I had 2 years ago, I was terrified of telling him. However, he is a health nut so the fact that I doing whatever it took to lose weight, to him was a good decision for me. Anyway, you need to do what you feel is right in your circumstances.

Ok, I just went thru exactly what you are as far as the food goes. I was miserable, everything made me throw up or pb (even and esp. ice cream). I know everyone else said this, but the unfill will make a world of difference. I had one last week and can't tell you how much better I feel.

The maltomeal and pudding's are usually stuff recommended for the "soft" food phase. I could only tolerate liquids - broth, Water, tea, Jello for the first few days. as Jack said, ask if you can get a more comprehensive list that breaks out each phase. Good luck with your banding!

I had the same thing just happen to me. The pain was almost unbearable. My dr removed most of my fill today and she is going to recheck in 2 weeks. Good luck and glad you are feeling better.
