Boggles the mind, doesn't it!!!
-
Sounds like you do need a fill. I can eat maybe 1 cup of food before I am feeling pretty full. Kinda depends on the food, heavy things like meat, it is more like 1/2 cup, if that. I don't really get very hungry anymore, esp if I have a protien shake in the morning, that tends to really fill me up.

Congratulations! That is excellent! Keep up the good work!

There must be people from Philly on this board right?

Nope, Collegeville isn't too far at all - takes me about 45 minutes to get into the city barring the surekill (oops schukyll) expressway - LOL. Would love to get together for lunch sometime. Don't know the city that well, so as long as you choose someplace easy to get to (or in the burbs - LOL) I will be there. Cheesesteaks - bad, bad, bad! LOL! -
Hi Michelle, I have very little restriction until I had my 2nd fill. Take it in baby steps, 1 thing at a time. As Sarah said, stop drinking while eating and that will help you feel full longer. Good luck!

Hi Judy, I, too, was well over 300 lbs when I was banded and I have absolutely no regrets and would do it again in a heartbeat! -
Hey Kel, congrats! That is awesome. I am so glad you shared that with us, helps to know what to expect when it is our turn.

Anticipation of Band leading to out-of-control eating
juliek replied to CLOE's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
LOL!!! - Me Too! Seriously, I went into serious food mode a few weeks before my surgery, every meal was my "Last Supper". There are some great ideas posted for controlling that. Remember the reality is, the more you binge before hand, the harder it is going to be to be on liquids, then mushies, post band. -
If your surgeon/friend can not give you a concrete reason for not wanting you to use the dr you have decided on, I would take what he said with a grain of salt. If you are comfortable with your surgeon, and he includes the aftercare, I think you are making the right decision to stay with him.

I know most of you said I should wait.....but

Wow, that is a tough one! I am an "instant gratification" kinda person, so I personally would go for the one next month. or maybe the one in France. Except that brings up the whole question of fills, etc. Does the cost include fills, or would those be extra? Here is a question, are you experiencing co-mobidities? They could get considerably worse in a year. Good luck with whatever you decide. -

I am, I am! I live in the Collegeville area, wouldn't mind getting together sometime. Julie -
Ok, I had 2, count em 2 different men come up to me this week and tell me how good I am looking! I have had women come up to me before and mention my weight loss, but guys don't usually do it. The first one was a neighbor in the grocery store of all places and the 2nd one was my girls Dr. I had taken the girls to the dr's 4 times in the last 3 months and Dr Mike said he noticed back in January, but he has gotten into trouble before saying something about weight to a woman, so he doesn't usually. But now, he definitely can tell I have lost a lot of weight and wanted to compliment me on it. I really needed that, been a bit depressed cause I was doing so well them bam, the scale quit moving. This is just what I needed to get myself motivated again. :biggrin1: Goodbye chips, hello treadmill!!!!!!

Congratulations P'Nut and other fellow slobs. - My recent NSV is just the opposite - I was so excited because I dripped on the girls instead of my stomach - for the first time in I don't know how long, the girls are actually bigger than my stomach! (ok, so well endowed I was not - LOL).

I had my first at 35 and my 2nd and 3rd (twins - LOL) at 40! All while I was extremely overweight (ok, super morbidily obese - YIKES). I also had extreme fertility issues (I had 8 miscarriages) and was on fertility shots, hormones, the whole 9 yards. I had one fertility specialist who told me I would never have a baby (got rid of him quick) and one who did everything in is power to make my dreams come true, but neither suggested that my weight was the cause of my fertility issues. My girls are all healthy and beautiful and so worth all the heartache I went throught to get them. Just going to throw out a couple of facts for you to think about - 1) once you hit 35 your chances of having a miscarriage are roughly your age. ie. at 35 you have about a 35% chance of having a miscarriage. and 2) Your chances of having twins naturally, greatly increase after 35. Nothing wrong with waiting until you are ready, and remember losing the weight will help while you are pregnant. OBTW - My great grandmother was considered an "Old Maid" and didn't get married until the ripe old age of 28 (remember this is 1907) and went on to have 14 (count em 14) children, into her 40's.

sounds yummy!

Oh man, same story here. Only for me it is potato chips (bad, bad, bad!) - I have not lost a pound in almost 4 weeks! (luckily I haven't gained any, either!). I am going to try the water/liquid thing. I really need to jumpstart my weight loss again. I was doing really well, then bam, I hit the chips and hit a wall. :help: Ok Kim, I will throw away the chips if you throw away the PB cups - deal?

Itching post op, and it isn't my incisions.
juliek replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had the same thing - like others suggested try benedryl, but also try the benedryl topical cream to help relieve the sites. -
Excellent! Hope you get your May date! Start scheduling those pre-surgery appts.
