i had my band removed two weeks ago. It is almost the same as having it put in, except there arent the same food restrictions aftewards. The pain is very similar. I am having a lot of port pain again. My surgeon said they have to "dig the port out because it gets frozen in there". The band part is easily removed. I wish I hadnt been so quick to consider this a "reversible" surgery. It's not easily reversed. I hope the removal of your band goes smoothly. Yes, they do make the incisions in through the old scars.

Unfortunately I agree with your doctor. I had it done 7 years ago and have just had it removed. I wish I had never tried to use surgery to solve a psychological problem. My advice to anyone considering it is to think very carefully.
