9 Months Into My Journey (With Picture)
lmblakes replied to GreenEyes604's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congratulations on your success! Can you share some tips and tricks? I was down to 197 from 287 and have hit a bump in the road and went back up to 200, never wanted to see that number again. Hummus and veggies for dinner tonight! -

Are you getting all of your water in? That can add fullness. -

lmblakes replied to Aribay1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lots of great ideas and suggestions, my fitness pal is awesome, might also look at protein bars for your mid morning snacks, I was sleeved 2/2 and am often full at 1/2 a bar. Best of luck, you can do it! -

I have an hour long lunch break at work and typically take my lunch. I eat slowly and when I am done just continue to enjoy the company of the others I'm having lunch with. As for dining out, you will always have leftovers ???? but it's only as awkward as you let it be. Once your family and friends get used to your new eating habits it's really no big deal. Good luck!

lmblakes replied to snowkitten's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What does this test involve? I've never heard of it. -
I used to drink ice water all day, now it's easier to not be too cold. I also keep a water bottle with me at all times, might not always reach the goal but get enough to where I don't feel dehydrated or dryed out. Good luck!

I was off work the first 4 weeks because I do lift heavy boxes, I found myself totally drained just about every day. Although I walked as much as I thought I should while I was off, going back to work I was 1.5-2 miles a day! Going back tomorrow, sure hoping for some stamina. Any ideas on gaining strength??

Interpretation of my policy..
lmblakes replied to _Brooke_'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have BCBS and while everyone's is different I went to the free seminar, gave them my insurance information and then a few weeks later ( that part did take a bit) they then had a list of everything I needed to do, the number of NUT visits, different labs, etc. I recommend going to the seminar, it could answer a lot of your questions. Best of luck! -

5 days post sleeve surgery---water diarrhea
lmblakes replied to hollisrn76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tomorrow is my one week mark and I am going from watery to soft, called after 3 days of the watery and was told it could last into week two, it gets better -
I had my SLV on 2/2, was home 2/3 am now on day 5, can take the bandages off tonight. Doing well, hopefully will get to go out for a bit today. Pain free, liquid diet is tolerable, if I get hungry I drink a little protein drink. Happy losing to you all!
