I'm very excited to finally start consistently loosing weight after battling 20 years of up and downs and now starting to get conditions caused by my high weight. I need to keep up with my wonderful kids who are 6 and 11. I know the weight will hurt not just my energy and participation in their lives, but as that is getting worse so will my health. 
 
I have been researching for 6 months and found a surgeon and hospital that completely meets my needs and my confidence level which is the hardest part. Even though Dr Corvala is more costly than most surgeons, I absolutely feel it is worth it to have one of the best surgeons at one of the best full service hospitals getting JCI accredited. Kim my coordinator is quick to respond and answers all my questions. I am still working with her on pre-op steps etc.
 
My surgery is on 2/19/15 and hope to be at what I hear is the healtiest BMI 22.5 by December 19th, 2015.
 
Tijuana is far from Georgia across the country and I wish there were a good selection of doctors in Cancun but I can't make a choice on location, cost of flight, and a few hours difference in flight, etc...although I tried to locate and did find a great surgeon was way above my budget out of pocket (exclusively) by about $4,000 over. The surgeon is equivalent to Dr Corvala so this would not sway me.
 
I was so glad to meet Rocky1 who introduced me to Dr Corvala. I thought I had the complete list of the greatest and most reknown surgeons in Mexico but clearly was missing one.... Rocky1 was a wealth of information as was the nurses and others on the forums who helped me narrow down and understand the medical centers and hospitals and where some fall short, I am a tough critic and worry about the worst and want to ensure I am in the best hands. Bariatric Pal really helped me find what I need. Now to get started and my journey in 10 days.
