    March 25th!

Wow that must have been quite the adjustment to make. I hope you are able to reach that goal for your appointment. I agree we should keep in touch those of us with dates so close together!

    Pre op poops ????

We were told at our information classes to start with 1-2 fibre capsule with each shake and adjust accordingly to keep us regular. I hope you get some relief!

I just got my date too @@mrscherry2010 and honestly I haven't stopped vibrating with excitement. I can't wait to start this next chapter of life! I bought a smaller swimsuit that was on sale and I can't wait to wear it to the beach this summer! Yahoo

    50 shades of Grey

I went to see it earlier this week and myself and the rest of the theatre laughed at so many in opportune moments, when they (especially 'Christian') was trying to be serious. It was awkward, sure there were some hot scenes, and some good music pairings but honestly I'm kinda glad Jamie Dorian isn't continuing, the role and him weren't a good fit, and not just because he kept popping back into his Northern Irish accent! A great DVD rental for a comedy night with the gals I'd say. And to repeat what other's have been saying if you can get over the writing the story line of the book is so much better and not just about sex (which is what I enjoyed about the book, and not the movie)
  8. @@jcmo You're a champ! You can do this! I just picked up my case this morning and I'm terrified of being hungry and struggling through the 3 weeks. You're on the tail-end now!
  9. I'm thinking about leaving civilization for atlas the first half of my 3 week pre op liquid diet. Going to the cottage and cleaning out all non accepted liquids. I've been having food funerals for weeks now, I fear it may be my downfall pre op!

Those sounds like rather delicious additions to the optifast @jcmo I'm actually really excited to try them out! hahaha Regardless if the weight loss slows down that's very impressive! congratulations

    Fitbit

Thanks for the feedback all! I've read in multiple places that Fitbit has great customer experience! @@anaxila I agree, I really liked the looks of the Jawbone Up3, but have been unaware of the pending bankruptcy. Thanks for the heads up! I've also been looking at the Pivotal Tracker which you receive for free with an annual subscription of $12....

    Wahoooo! Congrats! Sounds exciting
  13. I bought a fun espresso mug that's about an ounce, the amount of liquid the doctor's allow us to start drinking (over the course of an hour). I've also got some tiny silver spoons that I'm going to shine closer to for when I start eating again, I'm so very excited to crack them out and give them a go! I'm also planning on using fun dishes like tea cups and sugar bowls to add some fun to the process.

I also enjoy a premier protein from time to time @@jcmo and @@melissajane My father's really keen on them now and has finished the case I bought for post op! Do either of you know if heating up protein drinks in general reduces their benefit or is that just the Optifast? Also @@jcmo how's the 1 week mark treating you?!

    Fitbit

I've been really debating getting a Fitbit. I've gotten frustrated with the inaccuracy/ loosing my pedometers over time and like someone the additional features these devices have. What versions do you all have? I've been comparing Fitbit to jawbone and some other brands because I like the idea of being able to track multiple metrics at the same time (especially heart rate and therefore accurate calorie exertion). How are you finding your fitbits so far?!

  22. Personally I took great comfort in the fact that this is a laparoscopic procedure. The hospital I'm having my surgery at in Canada has had 3 fatalities in nearly 3,000 surgeries (two over the age of 50). My surgeon seemed to be very concerned that I was fully aware of EVERY risk associated and their likelihood. As with other people's experiences having a surgeon who is open with you about the consequences both positive and negative I believe is important. I would suggest calling your surgeon's office and asking for a breakdown of fatalities and post op complications. @@emeraldeyesgirl very neat to learn that it has a lower mortality rate than gallbladder surgery!!
