    I'm 21 and freaking out!

I get it...I went to college and hung out with the rugby guys . Much older now but two things...first, I did have a drink before the year, in fact I had half a glass of wine 3 months out for a celebration. It did not hurt my belly but I felt so guilty afterwards I'm not sure it was worth it. I was only able to drink half a glass so I never hot a buzz or anything like that. Second, my daughter is a senior in college, but due to health reasons and a personal choice, she does not drink. This does not mean she doesn't go to parties and she has a good time when she does. She has also saved many friends from drunk driving because she is cognizant when they aren't and either takes their keys or she will drive (especially when they decide they must have a late night pizza or chinese food). She says it's fun to watch her friends behave like fools lol. So you will still be able to go to your parties but you sure won't be chugging. Beer will be out because of the bubbles and I gave been told that they least bad for you drink is probably vodka with crystal light...fewer carbs. And remember after the night of drinking, the scale WILL be higher and that's not the direction you want it to go after going through WLS.
  2. I prepared a bunch of freezer meals that could either be thrown into oven or crock pot. I never had any problem cooking luckily but it made life so much easier. I just asked the kids what they wanted the next night and took it out...I did make a list of what I had prepared. Pinterest had lots of freezer meals. There are still some left, 3 months out, but most I can't gave due to Pasta or rice but once the few that are left have been eaten, I am going to make lots of WLS friendly meals as my family is trying to avoid carbs too now. It took a full day of cooking, a day ahead of recipe shopping, (for food and disposable oven ware), but my daughter had a blast helping me.
  3. That's where my pain mostly was. I found that if I drank lukewarm drinks it didn't hurt as much... And yes the bad spasms would get better after a few sips. It only lasted a couple weeks for me and got better each day after that.

    Body temperature

We were told in the pre op classes that it's very common...I know I am always cold...I always have a sweatshirt handy. I am 11 weeks out and it hadn't gotten any better, but like you I am hoping it will.

    Recipes

Pinterest and The a World According to a Eggface have great recipes...I actually made cauliflower crust pizza and liked it ( I hate cauliflower too). I have also seen the vegetable spiralizer which makes spaghetti like noodles out of zucchini which yiu then hop with your favorite sauces or cheeses
  6. I am 11 weeks out, 50 lbs lost, 26 to go! I feel awesome. My knees hardly bother me anymore, no more BP issues, I've had no nausea, vomiting, intolerances, etc. I have had no regrets! But.... I spend most of my spring weekends, then my summer at a beach camping (glam ping) resort. The people I hang out with are the ones I have been friends with for many, many years. I gave told no one but my hubby and kids about my surgery. The hard partis that on our weekends away, we normally all hang out and have a few adult cocktails while playing cards, having a campfire and going to dinner. We have gotten together for the last 4 weekends now and I find it hard not yo accept a frozen margarita or a cold beer or nice glass of wine. I show up with my crystal light in a nice glass but do admit I miss cocktail hour. (It's not the alcohol I miss, it's the shared comradery) Any suggestions on getting through this or alternatives? A virgin cocktail still has way too much sugar snd carbs. I just hate feeling like the one left out
  7. My NUT said I could have peanut butter during my stage 4 ( weeks 3-7) which was when I could eat just aloud protein only...no veggies fruit carbs etc and that I could eat actual, peanuts and nuts after week 7. I did have a few almonds at week 6 and had no problems. Just don't eat too frequently because both are high in calories and dat.
  8. So, I'm 8 weeks out and have been doing great. I've lost a total of 45 pounds and I make sure I get my protein/liquid/exercise/vitamins in everyday. I can't eat a whole lot still...usually 2 oz of Protein is about it at a meal although I am on my forever diet. Well last night my daughter had to make brownies for a function and she made Peanut Butter frosting. I wasn't tempted at the time but last night I ended eating a spoonful of the frosting. (Yes it was yummy too) well I wake up this morning and not only is the guilt of what I did bothering me but I have a horrible headache...not quite escalated into migraine but could. I'm wondering if the sugar is triggering it . Has this happened to anyone else? My body has not had a drop of sugar in so long that I think it's revolting against me. I certainly will not be doing that again.

Just over 5 weeks Post-op, returning to life

Mario, my nose is always running and if I eat too fast or one bite too much, I start hiccuping. My dr said these reactions will eventually go away. I am 7 weeks out, 40 pounds down, 40 to go!

    Beach after surgery

My dr said wait one month...even when they are looking healed but microscopic germs can still seep in.

What do you do for PROTEIN?

I also like isopure...I drink the vanilla zero carb kind..I use one scoop for 25 g of protein, add milk, ice and flavor of my choice...which at the moment is done by adding pumpkin pie spice ..reminds me of DQ pumpkin pie blizzard!...I've also added pb2 or unsweetened cocoa...it's not gritty and also had vitamins in it.
  13. I actually got the recipe off the world according to eggface site...she has great recipes for everything for WLS. But the quiches are simple...6 eggs, I used 4 oz of ham, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup non fat cheese..best together and fill mini muffin pans...bake 350 for 30 mins...I am not allowed any veggies yet but she has many variations including veggies..pizza style, mexican style, etc
  14. I average between 400-575 at 4 weeks out. I've been doing a protein shake for breakfast to get a good chunk of the protein in ( isopure zero carb vanilla, 25 g mixed with 8 oz simply smart milk, 10 g..30 germs to start day..I drink half at 6 am and half around 830 ish. For lunch I have half a Greek yogurt or a slice of deli turkey and slice of cheese., I usually can't finish yogurt some have as my second snack...dinner has been 1/4 cup refried beans ( can is going to last forever) or one small bread less meatball, or egg, ham, cheese mini crustless quiches, 40 calories each made in mini muffin pan...sooo yummy
  15. Wow..totally awesome..I am 4 weeks today...surgery was 3/13.. And I am down 24 pounds but 49 is great. Isn't such a great feeling? My knees don't hurt and I have so much more energy and my insomnia is even getting better..
