6 months Post Op vitamin question

Fabulous results lady! Beautiful before and after but it looks like two different people! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  2. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm 21 days post op and have had a very very similar experience so far. It's nice to feel "normal" while undergoing so many changes. : ) Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Today. Was. Rough.

I can relate to this SO much! I am 13 days post op and avoided going to the movies for my first week because I was afraid I'd want popcorn so bad! Now my boyfriend and I have been 3 times this week and he hasn't gotten popcorn in support of me. Feels like a tiny victory bypassing the concession line ea ch time. 4 Days Post Op...Hurting a lot

Thanks for the reality check! I definitely got caught up in everyone's success stories and forgot that it will take time to heal! I did go on a walk earlier this evening. It felt really good. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  5. I was sleeved Monday 8/1/16 and I am in way more pain than I was expecting to be in. I am only getting about half of my protein/liquids, and I feel too weak and lightheaded to get enough walking in. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do to get past it? Any advice is appreciated! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Pre-OP Diet

I got mine at Sam's Club but I've heard you can also get them at Walmart and costco. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

  8. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement! I did end up staving off the hunger and sticking to my diet. I have been looking at before and after photos online as encouragement but it might also be helpful for me to read success stories on here. Great idea! I'll be thinking of you Thursday. Good luck! 9. So my surgery date is 8/1, one week from today. I started my pre-op diet (and quit smoking, and quit coffee & diet coke) 1 week ago today and I've been on a serious emotional roller-coaster for the last 2 weeks or so. I've been nervous, excited, elated, afraid, sad, etc. One day I'll feel great mentally and physically and then I'll have a day like today where I seriously question everything. Can I do it? Will I really be able to lose the weight? Will I have enough willpower to change my eating habits for life? Right now, I feel like the answer to all of those questions is NO. All I can think about is heading to grab a giant plate of bean and cheese nachos after work. I don't even usually care for bean and cheese nachos that much but I feel ready to sabotage my pre-op diet for them. I feel sorry for my boyfriend, who had had to tell me 'NO' in the last 7 days more times than you'll ever have to tell a toddler or new puppy. Do the cravings and intense hunger ever really go away? Did anyone else have serious doubts or wet feet? If so, how did you cope? I seriously need to be derailed from the path leading directly to my favorite booth at my go-to Tex Mex spot. Pre-OP Diet

I am on day 6 of the pre op diet and it has definitely been tough, but I find the Pure Protein shakes to be the best at killing hunger pangs. They have 30g of protein, 160 cals, and only 4g carbs. I have moments where I just want to give up and stuff my face but I've already lost 14 lbs so that's what's keeping me going at this point. 11. So I'm still very very new to this entire thing...so far I've only been to the seminar (5 days ago) and right now I'm waiting on insurance verification (office said up to 30 days) so I haven't had a one-on-one consultation and I've been very anxious ever since the seminar. I realize that this entire process takes time and patience but I feel like I'm ready to start right now! I don't know much about the pre-op diet but during the seminar, the surgeon said 2 weeks before surgery, patients must adhere to the following regimen: 5 units of Protein Meal Replacement (bars or drinks) per day plus one 6 oz. piece of meat (no butter, oil, etc)., and two cups of veggies. I was thinking about trying it out until I hear back from insurance, but I'm wondering how others have done. Is the pre-op diet pretty standard across the board or do different surgeons have different requirements? What was your pre-op dieting experience like?
  12. Hello everyone! I'm new to the site and to WLS in general. Sick of having lived 22 years of my life as a morbidly obese person and experiencing the severe pain (and humiliation) of having sciatica at age 27, I took the leap and attended a WLS seminar two days ago. I am seriously considering the gastric sleeve operation. I am anxiously awaiting the insurance decision so I can schedule a consultation and make my final decision (I'm currently about 80% for and 20% against having an operation). I have the blessings of half of my go-to support group: my dad and sister believe it would be a good option for me, while my mom and boyfriend are more apprehensive. I'm happy to be on the site and hope that I can learn from everyone's insight and experience.
