    Going to Mexico April 1!

My room was really ghetto and the tv didn't work halfthe time, and we only had 3 English channels. It wasn't as hyped to be, but not bad considering its in a sketchy area. Be careful, don't go bar hopping at night. I overheard from another group that one member of their party had gone bar hopping and they didn't come back the next morning. It's a get in, get surgery, then get the hell out. Type of place

    Going to Mexico April 1!

No one in our 5 girl group with dr aerial o had drains...you stay in hospital one night, then the day after you do a swallow test. After the swallow test they are done with you. I left a day early, I wanted to get out of Mexico sooo bad. Hotel is kind of ghetto, good luck and bring money for tips (they all expect it)

    Having the poop issues again

Oh and I stopped taking fiber supplements, it just made my poop massive, which in turn ended up to be an even bigger pain in the butt (literally). Also be mindful of your vitamins, do they contain iron? Mine did, so I cut the dosage and combine with a multivitamin... Iron supplements will give you constipation

    Having the poop issues again

The end all combo: warning- do not take before zip lining. Take a full dose of liquid milk of mag and a solid does of stimulate laxatives and hold on for dear life. Drink lots of water and head to the bathroom. Do not fart (you will sh*t your pants). I have to do this when nothing else has helped, or the single dose of milk mag does not produce a BM. Get all the pop out of you and start better habits next time. I just got a Squatty potty, and that helps as well..though havnt used it much- it has potential.

    Exercise after surgery

I started up tae Bo about 12 days after surgery, also involves a lot of twists and some light weights. I have not had an issue, my energy has gone way up too. If you do start exercising, make sure you are eating enough calories/drinking water. It dehydrates you fast. Talk to your doc too, wouldn't want for you to bust a stitch.

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

I was only bringing up the therapy comment because I see it a lot in these treads..'get yourself some therapy' I just don't see that as a helpful response. In response to the pre op diet, yes- follow it. I wish I had taken it more seriously, I wish I had developed better habits before surgery, now I have to work my but off to lose weight.. I am doing strenuous cardio 4x a week just to be losing, and eating 800-900 calories at only 2 weeks out. Look at this as your golden opportunity to develop good eating habits so you won't have to exercise when still sore. Good luck
  8. When Homer can't put down the giant moldy sandwich he has been eating over several days that is making him desperately ill. I feel that way sometimes post op, trying to eat delicious foods that are making me sick, saving it for hours, going back to it. Etc. 'oh, I can't stay mad at you!'
  9. Obviously this isn't to be taken quite that literally, why don't you go judge elsewhere, this was merely a joke

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

This forum is as good as therapy.. That is when people are helpful instead of using the 'you need therapy' crap responses. Get out of the 90s, therapy is a bunch of bull sh*t, group support- though, that can be helpful.

    Pre-Surgery Behavioral Changes

    Pre-Surgery Behavioral Changes

It's like asking one why they started smoking. I really think a lot of it is genetics. I always had the wanting to smoke desire, and when I did- wow it was like I found my match in heaven. its just not healthy, crap in ecigs tastes poisonous..but that sweet sweet nicotine....

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

As long as I had money in my hand, that's all they needed to know. I didn't gain weight, I just didn't lose any

    Pre-Surgery Behavioral Changes

Cut out vaping and worry about the other stuff later. I had my surgery date in 3 weeks and started cutting vaping to once a day. By the 10 days I didn't do it at all. That alone was so hard, that if I had to add in a perfect diet, I think I would of killed myself. I love food I love vape. Get rid of the latter, post surgery, the food part kind of fixes itself. Without nicotine, your stomach is gonna heal faster and not bleed. Nicotine is the absolute worst thing to put in your body. I was never a analog smoker, but when I started vaping- I developed ulcers and heartburn. This gets worse after surgery. Don't do it. Make quitting your first priority.

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

Pre diet? What's a pre diet? I was supposed to do a pre diet but threw that to the wind. I was a very bad gril, eating in n out, huge nachos, Olive Garden 4 course menu...I went to town. Really pissed off my nutritionist at day of surgery, but hell- I self paid ( what are the gonna do about it) problem is, after surgery I still have all the addictions. But in the end, I eat wayyy less, a bit healthier, and learning things as I go. I just started up tae Bo and am loving it. I am down 16 lbs since surgery. I've been on this site for a while, and there are a lot of judge mental pr@@@@ that 'never cheated' ...honestly, I don't buy it.

    Pre Op Diet Fail.........Sort of

I failed everyday of my pre-op diet until the last day. I had non stop food funerals. Post op-'I am doing great- tummy is stronger than an ox. I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, the real hell starts after they cut you open.
  17. My nutritionist dictated I should get in 10000 steps everyday starting on day 5. That is a tough one to crack and have only been getting in about 6k, now I finally hit 10000 steps on my 8th day, and have never felt so good . Get a pedometer and make a goal. I use the wii fit- which makes it more fun

    What to expect after surgery

It will go down, I promise. I was bloated until day 6, I was doing everything- walking around, taking gasx (which helped the most). At day 3 just take it easy, take some pain pills, and walk as much as comfortable.

    Getting fluids down after surgery

What is it about the shakes? Do they taste disgusting? If you can't get it down- try various other foods. Try some yogurt, try some protein powder, and coconut water is terrific! I got so freaking bored of the post op diet within 10 days, I am making my own scrambled egg/tomato breakfasts now

    Nay Sayers

Not enough long term data to suggest stretching is significant. Get the sleeve, measure 1/2 cup food a meal, keep your calories logged-never go over a healthy amount, and you will do just fine.
  21. I am wondering if anyone had advanced their food level stages at a faster pace then recommended, and if so- what were the results. I am only on day 7, but my sleeve is tolerating everything i put in it extremely well. I was drinking choc milk ( just a few sips) in day 4. i later found out that was a big no-no, but my sleeve could care less. I am getting bored fast with soups and yogurt and would like to progress to some sophisticated softies like eggs. Onviously, if i didnt get this done in Mexico, I could ask my doc. i cant do that. Also is it bad to be swallowing whole bariatric vitamins at this stage? My sleeve took it quite well.
  22. 6 days post OP and all I can hear is this horrendous ear-shattering rumble below. I am drinking all my liquids, and even downed the most disgusting-chunky-protein laced 'chocolate' drink- twice today. Not to mention I am always hungry and craving pancakes. Hell, I even have my first bites of real food mapped out a month from now.Anyone else experience this, and will it subside?

My stomach sounds are scaring me and I'm starving

thanks for the reply, feel a bit better about the whole thing. yea I am taking antacids- though they are from mexico and look a little bit sketchy. Maybe I need to upgrade. At 3 years out, do you regret it?
