    Not telling anyone

I didn't tell my coworkers and I am always eating Atkins crap at my desk, they can derive my change in appearance to that.. I've lost 30 lbs and no one has noticed or cared. People do treat me with a little more respect though.....I kind of resent that
  5. Get a GI work up and find out how big your sleeve is. Maybe you got screwed over. How much can you eat? Do you weigh your food? Has your portion sizes increased? I've had issue with being hungry all the time too, but I can't eat anything over 3/4 to 1 cup of food even when I am starving
  6. April fools, you're just a loser

    Grazers Unite!

I guess the rule of thumb is count your calories. You graze a handful of peanuts, better write I down

    Grazers Unite!

I grazed all the time pre surgery, post surgery grazing is hard because of liquid management. You need a good 64oz of water, but can't drink with meals, thus cutting back on my grazing by a lot. The love affair with food ended after surgery, I just don't enjoy it as much.

    Pre-op Binge eating

There is a lot of negative comments about this subject for sure. You see entire threads where people state how wonderful and perfect they were on their pre op diet, but cheated once and had one almond and felt horrible. I kind of call BS on this, one almond fatty? Its forced compliance after surgery, you will just be better off if you learn good habits first. I ate like a total fat a$$ up until the day before surgery. Night before I took an Ambien and ate 2 candy bars from the mini fridge in my sleep haze...my shame. Just glad those suckers had digested when they cut me open 10 hours later.
  10. Costco babies! Oh them samples, yes ma'am I will have a bite of that

    Domino's Gluten Free Pizza?

I say have a bite of that and report back!
  12. I don't agree with fat shaming or dropping hints about wls. But I do wish my skinny a$$ cousin would of came clean about her wls, then I would of picked it up by word of mouth, and had it done sooner!

    Surgery in Mexico

Surgery prices in Mexico vary widely, you can get as cheap as 4k, and on up to 8k. you get what you pay for. After reading a lot of horror stories, I am glad I went with Ariel Ortiz. He is not gonna kiss your butt like some of these other docs that are a little too eager, he acts like a doctor. His staff are professional. The whole process for me, took about a month- from first inquiry, to scheduling an appointment, to hauling my butt down. Glad I got it done quickly
  14. Went hiking for the first time since surgery today and it kicked my butt. I huffed and puffed and prayed for death at least twice. This was on an 'easy' trail that a cute elderly pair and their dog was also walking. I honestly thought it would be a breeze, I've lost a bit of weight and have been doing pretty consistent cardio with my workout videos - no issue with that. Outside I can't breathe, feels like I'm breathing through a straw. Maybe I just need to train more...
  15. yeah i am in colorado and pollen is crazy, probably has something to do with it

    More on Crazy Penny

I hated watching this woman eat, HUGE portions were placed in front of her and she would go to town. Granted that she didn't finish it, but you could tell she was trying to work her way up to it. Also the drinks she had while eating, we all know this is bad practice. Doesn't look like she has any of the support
  17. I saw this: http://earthlings.com/?page_id=32. Before I wouldn't eat pork due to the outlandish torture, this documentary now ruined dairy for me. Thought I would throw this out here, as we are all changing our diets, maybe a little push in the right direction and making better food choices. What at your own risk, it is a heartbreaking reality about our food system.

    Reflux before and after sleeve

I have gerd, had it before surgery too, it got a bit worse...I changed my bed to one that can go up and down I sleep in a more upright position-lying flat will make it so much worse (as I am sure you already know) I take omeprazole every day, I also take ratidine at night if I feel it flaring up. I went to Costco and got myself a big supply. I don't suffer any ill effects.

February Sleevers - how are you doing?

20 lbs down, pants actually fit now. I feel better once I started forcing water, no longer passing out. Eating 800-1100 cal a day, rigorous cardio 3-5x week. Not getting enough protein in though

Anyone not enjoy thier 'food funeral'

I had several food funerals like you, and did notice as I got closer to surgery- food got worse and worse. I started to hate it because I had been relying on it so much, and it was costing my my health. It's funny though, I realized soon after, you don't need food funerals, you can still eat post surgery, some foods you just won't care for. I love hamburgers and chicken fingers and I ate them both afte surgery, it resulted in my hacking and puking my guts out to the point where they are not even remotely appetizing now. I would rather have a Greek yogurt. Post surgery you will be rewired for food differently, no need to have a funeral.

Getting mad at the littlest thing

Oh totally. At 3 weeks out I got furious at my husband and threw shoes at him because he got steak tacos and not chicken and I wanted a bite of it(can't eat steak). I was so unbelievably livid, kind of laugh at myself now about it because it's so stupid. You go through a lot emotionally and physically in such a short amount of time, it will get better. If I could go back in time, wish I could of been hidden away under a rock for the first month after surgery. After a while , you mellow out.
  23. 0% I wasn't ready for surgery, I had gotten my surgery date 3 weeks after I made an inquiry and one month after I heard this type of surgery even existed. I did not follow pre op diet at all, I gave up vaping and that was enough for me. I didn't gain or lose at surgery date. If I wasn't ready before, the sleeve forces you after (initially).the badge of shame
  24. I don't take any meds, my body just decided it was gonna be a total piece of crap
  25. 4 weeks out and now i am having week one problems. Extreme nausea, dizziness, intolerance to exercise. I have orthostatic hypotension fainting spells several times a day.. dont know whats wrong with me. I was feeling great a week ago, getting lots of exercise, all gone now. Anyone else experience this?
