My surgery is tomorrow also 😁
-
I just had my son and since the day I left the hospital I've been having stomach pain. I think my band may have slipped. I can't keep anything down and when I drink it even hurts and when I start to fall asleep I get night coughs, chest pain and today my back is killing me. I'm in a new state and now and I have medicaid! At one point during my pregnancy they tried to find me a bariatric doctor because I'd been complaining of not being able to keep food down from early in the pregnancy and the one they found didn't take medicaid. They were supposed to keep looking and get back to me but never did. I finally just pretty much did my pregnancy on ensure and drinks or whatever else would stay down. I don't know what I should do.

Once they removed the fluid I was fine. I talk the dr into letting me go home instead of removing the band the next morning. I want to give it some time to hopefully resolve itself so I won't have to get it removed. Seems like I'm always hungry now tho. I been trying to eat more fruits to satisfy me once I've eaten what I think is about what I was eating before.

You could call around to different bariatric groups and ask them their prices. I see most of these Dr's have a self pay option and they would probably do that as well. Also I know there was a site that did fills and they hadany different locations. I forgot the name but it was something like fill centers USA. You might be able to Google lab band fills and it come up. Good luck!

I went to the er they gave me iv because I was dehydrated. Figured it was the band and said they couldn't help me. Called my ob dr and she said meet her at her office. After he assistant and I searching independently I found a dr that takes the medicaid 2hrs away and she made the calls. I went there yes the band slipped and he was preparing me for surgery this morning to remove it. I felt horrified when he said I don't qualify for any other surgery so it would be just removing the band. Thank God I remembered some threads I read here about people having slippage that wasn't severe and the dr or moving the fluid (which the other dr did while we waited on this one), and waiting a month or so to see if it would correct itself and it did so they had them refilled. When he came back to see me I ask him about that possibility. He thought I was asking because he said I wouldn't get discharged until Fri and it's a holiday weekend. He said it wasn't likely to fix itself but it wasn't an emergency if I could keep down water (which I already had at that point) and food so he said he would give me crackers and if I kept them down he would let me go home and I could come back another time. I kept the crackers down and the first dr came to check and I talked to her about it again she and told her why. She said it might likely slip again and I said but that's a might correct? And she said yes. I told her I wanted to give it some time and then get another xray and if it fixed I wanted to refill it if not then remove it. She said I could do that. It was my decisions. I felt so relieved! But she scheduled me to come back in 2 weeks and I don't think that's enough time even though I don't know. I just want to give it every possible chance I can. I think I'll call after a bit and reschedule, not sure how long I want to wait but at least all of the 6 weeks I'm off on maternity. Then I'll ask for another xray. Now I'm not sure about the insurance paying for the refills but I figured since the unfill was under them it could be seen as part of treating the problem I came into the er for (I went thru the er with these Dr's as well so they would be able to see my the same day). But if not and it does fix then I feel paying out of pocket for fills is something I could handle as long as they hopefully do at least 1cc at a time (4cc was in band). I could just do it slowly to save up. I wouldn't complain about that. In the meantime I'm going to pray it fixes itself and pray the insurance will cover the fills if it does. It's a big relief to me that I stormed my memory before they admitted me and I ended up in surgery this morning! -
I'm in the er now. Been here all night they won't remove the fluid. I don't know what to say to them. They called my ob and she said to come into the office and she will try to get me seen by the bariatric dr they initially found but wouldn't take the medicaid. They are getting ready to discharge me.

Weight Gain At 25 Weeks Pg
cplatinumlove replied to Suzyfit's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my son. I have had restriction from the start and I haven't gained any weight but he is 13oz already. My OB isn't concerned because he is on track. I am tho because I regurgitate everything including the little fluids I do manage to take in. -
I get night coughs. It not the contents of what you ate going into your lungs. Its the fluid from the pbing while you are asleep. I just had night coughs last night because I ate just before I went to be (even though I know I shouldn't). My chest has been killing me all day! It's not dangerous we should just really try not to eat within 3hrs of going to bed and we should really sit up for a while after eating. remember its all on gravity.

I popped my port stitches and it flipped. I remember feeling them pop at different times. I had revision surgery in Sept '08. it was wort than the original surgery! They had to remove scar tissue and an area under my incision site is numb on the skin but faintly sore inside. Now that the pain inside was subsiding I think I popped stitches again. I'm sore now, in this past month I felt that popping followed by pain 2x

Who's had their Port Replaced?
cplatinumlove replied to MsButterKup23's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my port replaced on Sept 9th. To me it was worse than the First surgery. After the first surgery, the pain went away after 4days. Here I am, Tomorrow will be 2 weeks and I'm still a bit sore and the area is swollen. I would say I wasn't swollen before but maybe I couldn't tell under all the fat lol. At least I got a low profile port out of the deal. Cynthia -
Hi,and Help it's getting harder! Long post
cplatinumlove posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi everyone, I usually lurk on the different forums looking for my info on my own. My name is Cynthia and I was Banded on 02/12/2007. I can't lurk anymore, I need some support. I've had a few fills and I'm doing pretty good. My Dr (Dr. Shah, Lenox Hill Hospital) gave me larger fill last month because I really can still eat what he feels is too much. I can probably east a whole chicken thigh with a nice bowl full of veggies. Don't get me wrong I'm steady losing (except since this last fill last month). But I would have probably been down more if I could stop snacking in between meals. For a while I realy was getting hungery every 2-3 hrs. I am up to 3.2ml in my band. Now I'm not really hungrey but have gotten into the bad snacking habbit and still snack every 2-3hrs. Sometimes even if I feel full. I't's like I need food in my mouth. I have a thing for reese's peanutbutter cups, that is so hard to kick. That to me is a complete sabbotage (while I eat one now). I even went online today in search of some kind of low fat/calorie chocolate/peanut butter recipe but didn't find one. I just need help/support/info. What ever you can provide. I believe for is some what of a passtime for me. I am a corrections officer and we really have limited resources while on duty. Such as we can't read books or anything and there really isn't much to do except eat and sit. It is especially hard because I've been working 16hrs a day everyday of work since August. I'm looking forward to when Jan 6th come. I have built up time so I can be off for 5 months and I'm hoping to some physical activities for at least 20 minutes each day that I'm off and hopefully kick these bad habbits and get into a good routine. I haven't done so bad. I've lost 57lbs and only have 43lbs till goal but I gave gained 4 of those lbs in the past month. That can't go on. Be gentle while you guys tear me apart Cynthia 226/168/125 NYC
