  1. Where do you live? I'm in Florida and I can tell you our pollen counts are astronomical right now. And if you have the slightest allergies it can set normally unaffected people into hayfever, wheezing, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes the works. I have a gray truck that is nearly yellow from all the oak pollen. But either way, shortness of breath should be checked out.
  2. I love reading everyone's responses. I started my pre-op diet on the 18th and I have been "mostly" good. I was told 2 high protien shakes/day and one no carb, low fat meal consisting of a lean protien and non-startchy veggies. I can have SF Jello and "if needed" a small 100 calorie pack of almonds or a small apple. Well of course I "need" them everyday at 3:30 pm. My cheats have been adding larger portions of veggies and protiens. I have not broken and touched a carb throughout. My surgery (SADI-Loop) is scheduled on April 1st (yep, April Fool's Day - not sure if that is a good thing or not). I am dealing a lot with head hunger which I think is related to stress and worry about the upcoming surgery, post surgery and family. I'm finding I am more of an emotional eater than I thought I was.
  3. They do that at my office too! I just can't understand how someone could take something that clearly does not belong to them! I'd write a note and leave it on the fridge.

    FL - Orlando

It doesn't appear that there has been much activity in here recently but I thought I'd post in case anyone else was looking. I live near UCF and my surgery is scheduled next week (April 1st - yep April Fool's Day) with Dr. Jawad at ORMC. I'm having the SADI-Loop procedure and couldn't be more excited and scared to death at the same time.

    Newbie Here - Hello!

That's awesome and exactly what I'm hoping for. When I went back and chatted with the office I did confirm that I am having the SADI procedure. Given the procedure takes a little less time, I hope the recovery is a bit easier! I'd like to be back to work after 2 weeks, I have a job that is mostly spent at my desk. Thank you for your reply!

    Hi from Florida

Hi there, I'm an Orlando mom as well and scheduled on April 1st with Dr. Jawad for a DS. We spoke at length and it seems to be the right surgergy for me. My pre-op is on the 27th and I start the pre-op diet tomorrow...eeek! I would love to keep in touch with you through your process! Good luck! Michelle

    Newbie Here - Hello!

I'm having the Full DS! Kinda sounds like the Full Monty.

    Newbie Here - Hello!

Wowie! I'm crossing my fingers for a smooth recovery. I had C-Sections with both my babies. The first was a tough recovery, likely because of the amount time I was in labor prior to the c-section (56 hours!). I think I was just exhausted and gestational diabetes didn't help. With my son, it was a breeze. I went in as scheduled and was up walking the halls that evening and off most pain meds (besides 600 mg ibuprophen) within 3 days! Completely different experiences but I'm hoping after two kiddos this will be smooth! Congratulations on your continued success and weight loss.

I laughed so hard when she called me to schedule. I told her just no pranks, please! Yes, I would love to keep in touch and go through this together!
