  2. @@thick2thin - so glad to hear you are doing well and posting updates on the site. It's a huge encouragement for those of us who will follow in your footsteps soon. I wish you all the best in your post-op journey. So happy for you!
  3. Hello Fellow Sleevers, Trying to see if anyone is scheduled with Dr. Alejandro Lopez at Vida Hospital. I'm scheduled in March 2015 and just learned that he is no longer with the former company. Curious to hear about any recent experiences.
  4. @nieyajenee - so happy to hear that and you are most welcome. We are here to help each other and continue to pay-it-forward. All the best!

    Getting ready to be sleeved

@@trulyamazingtoo, definitely sending my prayers your way for a successful surgery and recovery! Keep me posted on how you're doing.
  6. @nieyajenee, any updates on your contact with Dr. Lopez? Just curious.
  7. @thickt2thin, Congrats! You rock... already up and at it - that's great. Glad to hear all is well with you. Keep us posted on remaining days and post-op. Good morning everyone! So I'm laying here on my hospital bed. 1 day post surgery. I was in a lot of pain yesterday. And constantly felt like I have to throw up. But today has been much much much better! Must I did, dr Verboonen and dr Cortez and his team are amazing! Especially Javier, he's one of the nurses here. Before my journey through all this, I weighed 226. When they weighed me yesterday right before, I weight 210. Which means I lost 16lbs during my 10 days of the liquid diet!! I am hoping to go to the hotel room soon because I would LOVE to bath. Lol. I wish all you February 19thers best of luck!!!

    Pre Op diet has started

@@baby256 - I started my pre-op on Monday, yesterday, 2/16/15, officially. I started cutting back prior to, which helped a bit. Only 2 days in but it is indeed worth it. Got 2 weeks from today before surgery date, March 4th. You mentioned isopure and syntrax. How are these products? I had to stop taking pure Protein - caused constipation. I'm taking Slim & Fit Protein Powder (16g protein - 1g sugar), but taste is so-so. Looking for alternatives.

    Today is the day!

@@62race - wishing you all the best with your surgery and post-op. Please keep us posted on how you're doing; would love to hear your experience. Where are you having the procedure? Who's your doc? Either way, recover well and recover quickly. All the best to you.
  10. @@defibvt - hope your pre-op is going well. So far, so good for me. We're getting close and it's officially countdown. I had to change protein - Pure Protein caused constipation - can't have that, so started a new protein powder instead - much better, but taste is so-so. I'm already down 10 pounds and hoping another 10 before surgery date. Keep me posted as we get closer to the date.

    Apple Cider Vinegar

No - tried it only before the procedure (I'm not scheduled til March 4th). It's a great question and would be curious to hear from the more experienced sleevers like you. Either way, wish you all the best in geting the insight on it.
  12. @ - It's really none of their business. You're doing this for you and not for the approval of others, of course. Folks will always have something to say about everything and everybody. Too much information is just a license for these folks to become surgeons, specialists, and gurus overnight. My response is simple - changing my eating habits - eating less but more of what counts -veggies and Proteins - by any means necessary!!!!! I say, keep 'em guessing, you don't owe them any explanation. They will figure it out as you continue to lose weight.... :-)

    Apple Cider Vinegar

@@iamblessed1225, I've tried it and works wonders in so many ways - reduces blood pressure, helps with weight loss, digestion, etc. The best that I've found is Bragg's Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother). Google it and you'll see tons of information about the benefits. Not sure of its impact/benefits after weight loss surgery though, if that's a concern. Hope you find this useful! All the best!
  14. @, Welcome to this awesome site filled with so much information and encouragement. I'm so excited for you as your surgery date is right around the corner. Let us know how you are progressing and keep us posted on the post-op experience. We learn so much from each other. All the best!
  15. @@nieyajenee, You are so very welcome! I certainly understand how unsettling this feels as I was in your shows this past Saturday when I got the note. I also spoke with another fellow sleever @@mdlange today who was sleeved with Dr. Lopez on Feb. 4th. She was extremely helpful. You'll notice her posts on this forum as well. So wishing you all the best and more!
  16. @@cassie_vsg, Congrats on your upcoming sleeve!!!! I will be at the Marriott during a portion of your stay. Hopefully we will get a chance to connect while there, but either way, I wish you all the best! Keep us posted on your experience.
  17. @@defibvt, Our time is almost near - yippee!!! I arrive at the Marriott on March 3rd. So if you're there, let's make it point to meet in the lobby. I return on the March 6th when you're heading out. Either way, I definitely want to hear about your experience. I start the "official" pre-op diet on Sunday, although I started cutting back -UNTIL today. One of our fellow sleevers noted that this is the time for me to eat whatever I want - prior to pre-op. Then it hit me - she's absolutely right. So I had a burger. LOL Not sure if I'll go off track much more with the pre-op coming soon. Either way, let's stay in touch during this pre-op period.
  18. @nieyajenee, I forgot to include the phone number to Dr. Lopez - 773-840-8180. I'm sure you will be fine.... keep me posted.
  19. @@nieyajenee, Sorry to hear no one has reached out to you. I understand how disconcerting it feels. Try reaching them as follows; drlopez@obesityguadalajara.com anakaren@obesityguadalajara.com - she is the patient coordinator and nutritionist www.obesityguadalajara.com - click the US flag in the right corner to see the website in English I've been in contact with them both as I'm scheduled on March 4th. I'm sure you will be able to contact them and settle the concerns. It threw me for a loop for a minute, but I'm moving forward. Please keep me posted on whether you're able to reach them.
  20. @@mdlange - huge thank you for the encouragement. I'm very excited and a bit nervous. Your post yesterday was so timely as I was on the fence about moving forward. Shortly before your post, I made the decision to move forward and then when I saw your post about your experience, it was confirmation that I'm on the right path. I'm taking this road through much prayer and hope to get my weight under control. Let me know how to reach you as I would love to ask you more questions to gain greater insight. :-) A huge thank in advance.
  21. @@mdlange, Thanks so much for your feedback. I am actually scheduled on March 4th with Dr. Lopez. I've been having reservations because he is no longer with Specialized Bariatrics although I've been assured there will be no change in the services rendered - surgical staff, hospital (VIDA), hotel (Marriott) or any other logistics. Hearing from you helps to calm me a bit. I'm so glad to hear all went well for you and that you are losing quite well. Hoping to hear more and to share my story too. All the best!!!!!
  22. I actually have been in communication with him and his assistant. There seems to be a lot of changes right now..... Will continue to inquire until I have solid answers.
  23. Thanks so much for the response. I'm scheduled in March. However, Dr. Lopez is no longer with Specialized Bariatrics. This interim change has caused me to grow more concerned about the logistics and team. I hear Dr. Lopez is really good, so that helps. Just dont' want any surprises or diminished quality of work. Would love to hear more about your experience.
  24. @ - thanks so much for the response. Huge congrats on your success - amazing results!!!!! Wishing you continued success.
  25. @@skeptictrash1 - huge appreciation for the information. I've seen this brand in stores. May try switching just to mix it up a bit. Will see how it works for me. Thanks again.
