Yep I noticed a few clots in the toilet for about 5 days after surgery then BAM big period.

I've not been able to enjoy anything until retried Beans. Had some today and it was wonderful. Scrambled eggs, which I loved before surgery, are very "meh" after surgery. After surgery I hate the fake sugar taste, so I haven't been able to enjoy light yogurts or SF Popsicles. Strangely, SF Jello is pretty decent. So, short answer is that I'm going to be eating a lot of retried beans in the near future.

Hi all, I'm 2.5 days out from surgery and am having INTENSE pain at the site of my largest incision (mid right side). The pain is sharp/stabbing when I attempt to bend over or sit up straight or get out of bed in a way that "scrunches" the belly on that side. It reduces to a dull and warm ache when I'm standing/walking, but no pain when lying still. Is this normal? How long can I expect this pain to last? Also, the gas pains have shown up today. How long does that typically last? Thanks for your insight!

Thanks Mel! That makes sense. Are you able to bend over yet? I have two dogs and have to rely on my boyfriend to let them out because I can't reach their collars. I know, Small inconvenience, but I hate to be dependent on someone else!

Just sleeved yesterday (may 1) Significant pain but getting better No gas pain so far Walking makes me nauseous but I'm doing it I had to make the radiologist wait around because I was dry heaving during the leak test I think they're sending me home today Sorry for plain reply...not feeling up to whole sentences

Should I be concerned that my doctor says I don't need any Vitamins? When I asked him today why no mention has been made of vits (surgery on Friday), he said that only bypass patients need vits, not sleeve patients, since sleeves still absorb nutrients from food. But yet I see so many people who take a ton of vits. Is my doc crazy?

What shots? My doctor has not mentioned this.

Good point...the first week was like clockwork. The last few days has been less...substantial. I thought just because my bowels have been emptied so less to get rid of!

The first week went great. Lost 13 pounds. Went from 311 to 299. Then the second week started and I was up a pound. I thought no big deal, probably Water retention or something. Then the next day I was up another. And the next, another. I am on day 12 and am at 303. Making it look like I've only lost 8 pounds. What in the world is going on? I have stuck to plan. 2 meals of 1-2 slimfast shakes, 1 meal of lean Protein and non starchy vegetables. I also get "free foods" of cucumber, pickle, sf Popsicles. I have been meeting goal of 64 oz of Fluid a day. I don't know what is wrong and it's making me sad and frustrated.

My surgery is this Friday, and I've been "nesting" for the last week. Tying up loose ends with home renovations, laundry, shopping for post op things, etc. having never had kids, it was a strange compulsion to me.
