  1. I'm on day 4 post-op. It's was a tough first couple days but it is definitely getting better. Having a hard time with liquids. Each sip makes me burp like I chugged some beer or soda. It's so painful. Can't sleep more than a couple hours at a time. I'm walking at least 30 mins a day. I do feel weak though. Any tips?
  2. I has my sleeve done yesterday. It was the longest day of my life. So much gas pain, dry heaving, and just straight up uncomfortableness. They put me on some new pain meds today and she's giving anti nausea meds more often this morning it is making me feel so much better. Good luck to ally having theirs done today.
  3. @@purrfctangel thank you! I will keep you posted to how it goes. @@Rich989 thank you!!
  4. Hello everyone! I have my surgery tomorrow morning at 8am. I should have done a search first. My question was answered. Excited for tomorrow

    March Sleevers

Thank you to everyone who replied. I have chosen not to tell most people about my journey out of fear of their opinion. So I got a lot of invites to go out for dinner but I turned everyone down, except for one friend. We went to a fish house. I ordered a grilled salmon and it was delicious. I did not touch the sides. I didn't tempt myself with a dessert. Although I wasn't completely strong I was strong enough not to completely derail my diet. I was satisfied with what I ate. I am back at my pre-op diet today. 3 more days.... Super excited!!

    March Sleevers

I'm having a hard time today with my pre-op diet. Today is my birthday... I asked my family for no birthday cake and no dinners but I'm regretting it. I want to have a good dinner and a great dessert. I've been so good but surgery is Monday the 16th... I'm afraid to cheat. I know right now is not the time. Super bummed right now.

    Hair falling out/ loose skin?

Yup figured it will still fall out and there will definitely be loose skin, but if we can try something to help lessen the effects vs not doing anything all, I'm going to do it.

    Hair falling out/ loose skin?

hi! I am pre-op and am taking the pills now but I found and purchased some "hair skin and nails" gummies and melts at walmart that I a plan on taking post-op once I start eating solids. Hope this helps

    Hair falling out/ loose skin?

we will be having surgery the same day! good luck with your journey. ???????? I've been doing a coconut oil and pure vitamin E oil blend every day after I shower to help with elasticity. I'm going to have to start workout to tone those areas as well.

    Hair falling out/ loose skin?

I am also very concerned about hair loss, but from all my conversations with the surgical team and my hairdresser, I've learned that you can do all the right things and still lose hair. For most people, even those who lose a lot of hair, it's much less noticeable to others than to yourself. You can stack the deck in your favor by getting all your Protein in every day, but even then sometimes you'll still lose. Some people don't lose any hair, some people lose a lot. Thank goodness, it's temporary. It starts about 4 months post-surgery and generally ends a few months later. While there isn't much you can do to prevent losing hair, there are things you can do to promote hair growth and regrowth. I take 10,000mcg of Biotin every day, and have since a week after surgery. I'm two months post-surgery now, and I have tons of tiny new hairs that surround my head like a halo when I pull my hair back into a pony. So I know I'm getting lots of new growth from Biotin (and my nails are great too!), which gives me a lot of comfort about the amount that may fall out. As for Spanx, they can definitely help hold lose skin in place and smooth things out under your clothes, but they won't prevent the loose skin from developing. The best thing for that is lots of exercise, especially weight training, but it's possible you'll still have loose skin leftover and you'll need to decide if you're okay with it or have it removed via plastics. Good luck! Thanks for sharing! I am taking Biotin now and will continue to do so. Surgery is in April.I am ok with the skin if it occurs because I told my hubby that if I lose the weight I want to, and skin is an issue, as a reward to myself, mommy makeover here I come! thank you ladies for your response! I haven't had much luck with responses on here. I appreciate you taking the time. I have a couple acquaintances that have had this surgery but even then I feel like I'm bothering them with some questions so I have been doing a lot of reading on forums and have posted a coup questions on here. I went and bought some biotin today and started taking them now. my surgery is a little over a week on the 16th! Eeeeek! ????????
  12. I start my preop diet next Wednesday. Not worries about it, I think I'll do well. I'm nervous for surgery on the 16th but I'm super excited. I am avoiding telling people about my surgery because I have already had some comments from a family member and I don't want to hear it from others. I told one friend last night (because we babysit her kids and will need her to make other arrangements). She is super skinny, has not struggled with weight loss. She said some things that bothered me. She said after all the money I'm spending that I shouldn't get back into eating junk food and not following my diet and said she supports anyone who makes this decision and sticks to eating healthy. This after I told her I have been on a diet for myself for the past month and have lost 17lbs.She has never seen me eat other than at gatherings on a rare occasion. I also never mentioned money. I felt like I had to explain myself and tell her I would stick to my diet, which I am because there is no point in going through all this suffering and sacrificing to not. I am very motivated to what I want to do but this is why I don't want to tell other friends. Maybe I am being too sensitive but I just don't want to hear it. I kind of felt like she didn't think I could do it.

    Hair falling out/ loose skin?

Thank you for your response. ???? I appreciate the tip. I had not heard of biotin, I'll start taking now. I start my post op diet on the 11th. Super excited but a bit nervous. I can't wait! ???? I need to start working out now. I have joint pain and it's hard for me to exercise so I avoid it but need to get over it so it won't be as hard once I have the surgery.
