    Protein Bars

I love the Premier Protein dark chocolate mint. They don't have that weird protein bar taste like Quest. I think they have 30g of protein but I can only eat half at a time. They're not very low carb though, but again I only eat half at a time and I don't eat them often.

    Regrets?

My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. The beginning is tough but before long it'll be just a memory. Good luck to you!

    Cigna Insurance Questions

That depends on your deductible. I have a $500 deductible, which I met through all my pre-op appointments. After that $500 I paid nothing, so the surgery itself was $0.
  5. I only told my husband. At 4 days post-op I was at a big family party and there was a huge BBQ meal. I took a plate of food and just moved stuff around and occasionally raised my fork to my mouth. Nobody noticed I wasn't actually eating. At 2 weeks post-op we went to an amusement park and I walked around from morning until night, no big deal. Now that I've lost 115 pounds I get a lot of people asking how I did it and I tell them all the details of my diet, I just leave out the surgery part. And I would not lie and say you're having your gallbladder removed, since it's fairly common for bariatric patients to need that for real further down the road. I just had mine removed last week.
  6. I brought my phone and extra long charger, a brush, and lip balm. That's it! I wore comfy clothes in and wore the same ones home.
  7. This will probably sound silly but my dream store was Target. They have such cute things! And they're cheap! I can now shop there and I love it. I also really like H&M. I only have two tops from there but they're both my faves and they were both wicked cheap. Clearly I love cheap things. I'd been so used to paying out the wazoo at stores like Torrid and Lane Bryant. It's so nice to be able to get a cute top for $10!

Time off for stay at home Mom

My husband didn't need to take any time off. My kids were 4, 7 & 8 when I had my surgery and I was able to tend to their basic needs just fine. I even brought them all to the dentist at 2 days post-op. I did spend a lot of time relaxing and hanging out but I wasn't an invalid. Just don't overdo it. You'll be fine.
  11. Have you been weighing in? You need to have 3 recorded monthly weigh-ins over 89 days or more. I did mine at my Bariatric clinic. My clinic required me to lose weight, Cigna didn't care if I lost or gained. Cigna also requires a letter from your PCP recommending Bariatric surgery and a psych eval. Aside from the BMI requirements, I think that's all Cigna needs.
  12. I was approved in 2 days.

    Who has Cigna ?

It is NOT 25-30 days. It is 3 consecutive months totaling greater than 89 days from first appointment to last. Therefore it cannot be 25 days between appointments because that would not get you to 89 days. It is not 30 days max because they are not going to be so rigid. This really isn't something to stress about. The person scheduling your appointments will space things out accordingly. I just went back and looked at my calendar, all of mine were 32-39 days apart.
  17. 205.2, up .4 this week. I know people say to embrace the stall but I don't want to!! I was cruising, which is just what I need to stay motivated. I need to break this.

    Allergic reaction

I had an allergic reaction to the glue also. My surgeon told me to use non-acetone nail polish remover to remove the glue. I was horrified! She assured me it was fine and the incisions were healed (it was 6 days post-op) but I was still very wary. I told her I'd take Benadryl and wait a little longer to see if the glue would come off naturally and she just laughed. I was so uncomfortable I ended up using the nail polish remover the next day. It was fine and everything cleared up immediately.
  19. I'm 6 months out (next week) and I average 800-900 calories.
