Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?
MrsRoboto replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had the last of my 3-month supervised diet appointments today! I've lost 27 pounds so far. So that was it, the final step for my program. On Friday I meet the surgeon, they'll submit everything to insurance, and I'll hopefully get my date at that appointment! -
Anyone planning on (or have had)babies have surgery
MrsRoboto replied to AnA92212's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have 3 kids (4, 7, and 8) and we want one more. I want to lose at least 100 pounds and be a year out before getting pregnant, though I think my surgeon recommends 18 months. I'm going to be 37 in November, plus I don't want too much of an age difference between my youngest and a new baby, so I really don't want to wait too long. I do want to give myself time to be successful with my weight loss though. -
I absolutely LOVE the chocolate Premier Protein shakes. I'm pre-op and I've been drinking one every day for almost 3 months. I never get sick of them and look forward to them every morning.

Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?
MrsRoboto replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my endoscopy this morning. I was freaking out for nothing, it was a breeze. So that was it, the last thing on my list is checked off and I just have my final weigh-in on June 15th! Then they'll finally submit everything to insurance and I'll get to meet with the surgeon and get my date!!! -
Yikes! I got a rash like that after my last c-section. I'm sure it was an allergic reaction to something they'd given me in the hospital. Unfortunately it didn't show up until I'd been home for a few days so I don't know what the medication was for future reference. The steroid pack cleared me right up. I'm sorry that's not working for you! That's so weird that it's not. I really hope you find some relief soon! I know how uncomfortable it is.

I don't have a pre-op liquid diet, just the 3-month diet and I'm required to lose 10% of my excess weight (which I've already surpassed). So I have a list of restaurants or things that I love and every now and then I indulge and cross something off my list. I'm saving the big one for my food funeral right before surgery though, it's going to be New England clam chowder, fried clams and fried scallops (I live in Maine, I have to say goodbye to fried seafood!) and I'll be following it up with Milky Way ice cream.

Timeframe - from decision to have surgery to getting surgery
MrsRoboto replied to flipper72's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance requires a 3-month supervised diet, a psych eval, and a visit with a nutritionist. However, my Bariatric program also requires an introductory seminar, a psych eval, two nutritionist visits, two physical therapy visits, a 5-week behavioral skills class, a pre-op support group, an endoscopy, an abdominal ultrasound, a chest x-ray, an ekg, and bloodwork. So I decided I wanted the surgery in January, the earliest seminar was in February, I had my first weigh-in and visit with the nurse in March (that marked the beginning of my 3-month supervised diet) and I have my final weigh-in on June 15. After that I'll finally meet the surgeon and get my date, which will probably be in July. So it's quite a process! -
Any sleevers scheduled for late July?
MrsRoboto replied to kbpaulie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was originally hoping for June but I'm pretty sure it'll be July now. I don't have my final weigh-in until June 15th and then I meet with the surgeon and they'll submit everything to my insurance. I am SO ready! I went to my introductory seminar back in February, I've met with the nurse for 3 monthly weigh-ins, had my psych eval, seen the NUT twice, seen the physical therapist twice, completed a 5-week behavioral skills class, and did all my pre-op testing last week (ultrasound, x-Ray, ekg, and bloodwork). I can't wait to get my date! -
Almost at 2 months and lost 60 lbs
MrsRoboto replied to JPacella's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You've lost 23 lbs in 3 weeks! How is that discouraging?? I'm still pre-op so maybe I don't get it but that sounds pretty awesome to me! I am just baffled when I see posts like this. I will be thrilled to lose 20 lbs in my first month post-op. -

Did all my pre-op testing this morning. Ultrasound, chest x-ray, ekg, and bloodwork. The ultrasound was so annoying, I had to keep taking huge breaths and holding it the entire time. Plus, ultrasounds just aren't much fun when there isn't a baby involved! All I have left is my final weigh-in and the endoscopy! I'm so antsy! Also, I'm down 22 lbs since starting my program. -
Urination question

Did you have a catheter? I'm pre-op so I don't know if catheters are the norm with this surgery or not. But I had them with my c-sections and that's what peeing is like for awhile after they're removed. -

I had my second weigh-in this morning. -19.2 so far! Next week I have all my pre-op testing, which includes blood work, an ekg, a chest X-ray, and an abdominal ultrasound. Then I have to do the endoscopy and I have my final weigh-in on June 15th. Then I'll finally get to meet with the surgeon! This has been so much more involved than I was expecting. It looks like I'll probably be getting a July date instead of June. I can't wait! -
The cookie dough Quest bars are amazing if you microwave them for 10 seconds. It tastes like a sinful treat! I can't remember the nutritional info off the top of my head but I think they have like 180 calories and 20g of protein.

Syntrax Nectar Reviews
MrsRoboto replied to thelakeisgone's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just ordered the sample pack from mybariatricpantry.com. You get 10 for $19.99 and can choose your flavors. -
That is incredible! What a feeling that must have been! What was your starting size? I'm still pre-op and I know I'll never be a size 0, but even the thought of being a size 8 or 10 just seems insane to me. I'd probably cry!

Does GNC sell the Syntrax Nectar single serve packets? I went to the Vitamin Shoppe and they only had chocolate. I ended up ordering the sample pack from mybariatricpantry.com last night but it would be more convenient if I could find them in a store. -

I made my goal! I needed to lose 16 lbs in order to get my surgery and as of this morning I'm down 17! My next weigh-in is on Thursday and then I still have another month (and a final weigh-in) to complete my 90 days. At my next appt we'll be scheduling all my preop testing and then I'm done! So far I've had my initial weigh-in, then my first monthly weigh-in, 2 meetings with the NUT, 2 meetings with the physical therapist, my psych eval, a 5-week Behavior Skills class, and a pre-op support group. It's getting real! -
Just wondering where people buy their Quest bars and how much they cost? I found them at The Vitamin Shoppe today and they were much pricier than I was expecting. I guess I thought they'd be around $1-1.49 and they were $2.69 each. Is there someone cheaper I should look? Does Walmart carry them? I did get a few and I can't wait to try them. I was also disappointed that The Vitamin Shoppe didn't have the Syntrax nectar individual serving packets. I was looking forward to trying a few of the fruity flavors and they only carried chocolate.

Your favorite protein drinks/shakes
MrsRoboto replied to judyoz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I LOVE the chocolate Premier Protein. I really look forward to my daily shake. I could only find it at my grocery store (Hannaford) and it was in the health food section, not in the section with the other protein shakes and other "diet" drinks and bars. Sam's has it too but I don't have a membership yet. -
Low sugar protein shake
MrsRoboto replied to msholly1228's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love the chocolate Premier Protein. I'm still pre-op so I only drink one a day for breakfast every day but I would happily drink 2-3 a day. Yum! -

MrsRoboto replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my second nutrition appt this morning and got my post-op diet instructions. I also found out that it's a 2-night hospital stay, not just an overnight like I had thought. This is so inconvenient for me. I'm only telling my husband about the surgery, and we have 3 kids. An overnight was no big deal but 2 nights away is going to put quite a kink in our routine. I'm hoping school will still be in session so he'll only have to worry about the little one during the day and can still work from home. This could end up forcing me to have to tell my mom in case we need her help. -

I am so freaked out about the endoscopy. Like way more than the actual surgery. -
I buy the premade just because I think they taste better, however they are more expensive ($15-18 for 12). I LOVE the chocolate Premier Protein. They have 30g of protein, 1g sugar, and 6g carbs.

Anyone buy Premier Protein at Sam's Club?
MrsRoboto posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I'm just wondering how much Premier Protein shakes are at Sam's. There's a Groupon for a Sam's Club membership right now and it's a really good deal. I just don't think I'd use it for much more than the shakes so I'm not sure if it's worth it for me. Anyone buy their Premier Protein there? TIA! -
Anyone buy Premier Protein at Sam's Club?
MrsRoboto replied to MrsRoboto's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I've only tried the chocolate but I love them. I was just hoping to find one I could get down without holding my nose, the Premier Protein is actually really good. I want to try the strawberry but I haven't found them. And right after I posted this topic and was considering buying the Groupon membership, I got a free Sam's membership coupon in the mail!
