I have lost 123 lbs! Yay! But I have been dealing with back pain for the last few months. It is not tied to anything internal. It is worst at the end of the day and in the evening. Wondering if it is tied to my loss of fat on my back, or the extra weight on the front of the skin of boobs or my stomach without the fat to support it?? Anyone struggle with this? Not sure there is a remedy! Advil is out obviously!

Hi, I am about 13 weeks out and been having bad dizziness off and on. I have not been to make any correlations as to the cause. I just moved, got new insurance and am waiting to see my new primary care dr next Friday, new ins does not cover wls!!!!! I did manage to get old ins to cover a visit to a surgeon here in my new turn and had him do labs which are fairly normal. I think I will need to educate my new pcp. Anyone else have dizziness? What was the cause?? I get about 60g protein a day and do a decent job with water. Not taking any meds.

Mine have been messed up since. Just had an ultrasound that found fibroids, ugh, so I can't really blame the weightloss/surgery!

I gave my ibuprofen to some family members. I take Tylenol, use ice and heating pad for various pains.

6 months out... What's your progress?
red37 replied to teshadb's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations everyone! Feels good to hear that others are doing well. This thing we did works and has made our lives healthier! I just hit 100lbs lost, I am in shock most days when I get on the scale. I went to a new specialist doctor last week that made an off hand comment when we were discussing something and she said "well you are not obese so..." I was like, what, wait, am I not? Not anymore. Surreal. -

I do consignment, gave some to a friend, gave some to a student in need and also goodwill. Going to take my suits to an organization that outfits women looking for jobs. -
Finding balance / sustainability with food
red37 replied to Daisee68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think we are about the same time out. I have been feeling the exact same way that you have. Weight loss has definitely slowed down and I do think that is playing games with my brain!! I eat the same things ever week, buy the same things at the grocery store. I fret all the time that I will binge on something. I have had saltines on occasion, as they were on my ok list early on. However, I can eat many of these-more than I should and that scares me. I have told myself not to buy them, but I have a few times-usually just the one sleeve size. However, I don't eat as many as I would have presurgery and what I would binge on presurgery was a million times worse. I wake up everyday and try to think positive and work my way through a healthy day. -
What About The Good (Amazing) Stories?
red37 replied to creativediff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
5 months post, down 95 lbs. best decision I have ever made in my life. Feel better than I ever have or ever knew that I could feel. It's a scary process going into the unknown with risks, but the ultimate reward of health and freedom from being bound by weight is worth everything and more. -
My iron is low also, though D is low too. I started taking "Blood Builder"-iron-6 weeks ago and will have my 6 month blood work next Friday-we will see if it's any better. I think Iron is the most common deficiency for us.

Flying Tips - Almost 4 Mos Post Op
red37 replied to Madtownsunshine17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should be fine, make sure meds are in original containers. Ask for a water immediately when getting on plane or buy one in the terminal to bring on with you. In Atlanta I found a few terminals had a few stores with yogurts/cheese/pepperoni. Greatest part is fitting more comfortably in seat! -

Motion Sickness Question
red37 replied to DangerMouse007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck! I did chewables last time-both kinds of Dramamine and it worked great! Flying again in a few weeks and will do the same. You'll be fine eating out. It helps to look up the menu online beforehand if you know where you are going. Also if you have s family member that eats light-maybe they would split an entree with you? I have done well with seafood and veggies or a salad with protein. I also now order a water to get the server from constantly asking if I want a drink! I just don't drink it. -
I am stuck in a rut, eat the same thing everyday. Being single, I like easy recipes that I can make very small quantities. Some foods frozen just don't work for me now! What is one of your favorite easy recipes? This is one of mine-but only when cooking for multiple people!! http://damndelicious.net/2014/05/30/pf-changs-chicken-lettuce-wraps/?m

I need a ham/egg salad recipe
red37 replied to sarahbethemails's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Careful with Ham, it was and still is hard for me to eat! Egg salad for me at the beginning was a tiny bit of mayo, dash of spicy mustard, onion powder, pepper, salt. -
Peanut butter and crackers
red37 replied to sarahbethemails's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love peanut butter. At this point I am not going to buy it, the last time I did I ate a little too much and was crazy nauseous. And not a lot, just too much for my new body! But, yes, it was good! -
Okay, more that a little miffed. A bit of advice/help would be welcome.

The ups and downs and stand stills happen! I weigh almost everyday and I have since surgery. I graph it in myfitnesspal and when I go through a week of up/down/up/down, I look back at my graph and am reminded how normal it is and that my overall graph has gone down over 90lbs in 5 months. Frustrating and real at the same time! Keep up the great work!! -
Congrats! Hoping to get there in the next month or so!!

Sounds good!

Here is a fun topic, we can kind of go back in time and see where we were; Last Meal
red37 replied to winklie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have a last meal. I was out of the country and went out to eat but it wasn't anything special! I look back and kind of wish I had done something special but also glad that I didn't feel the need to do it either! -
I started at month 4, now almost at month 6 and still losing hair like crazy. It sucks!

I had the same issue for about two weeks post op, started the day after surgery. They tested me for cdif-that wasn't it, was not lactose intolerant, just some side effect of the experience. Be careful though because of this I ended up needing hydration at week three even though I was drinking the recommended amount of water I became very dehydrated and sick, not fun!!! Drink extra!

48lb down but only one dress size!
red37 replied to Beachsprite's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some sizes have happened faster than others for me. I am 5 months out, -90lbs. Noticed a big difference at around the 70-75 lb mark and then again about 90! Also had more people commenting when I hit around -80. Strange, and frustrating when dressing for work!! But I will take it. -
Yes! Just not everyday!

You are definitely not alone. Therapy helps, but also try setting some non food related goals for yourself. Volunteering somewhere, cleaning out your closet, working on the yard, calling an old friend, planning a weekend away, etc. I still think about food a lot, but it has been easiest when I force myself to focus on other things. I mourned the loss of food for sure. I do still at times think about certain foods that I used to eat and have chosen not to eat anymore. But I have told myself that I had 30+ years eating those things, i know what they taste like and I know how they made me feel, both good and bad at the same time. I choose to feel good all the time and focus on the rest of my life and celebrating without needing to eat the happiness!
